1) The House
The three-storey building is ideally located in a pedestrian area of the old village only steps away from the central square of the village. On the ground floor, you will find the living and kitchen area and an open fireplace in traditional occitanian style. One wall is formed around a beautiful arch in natural stone. Here you will also find a pull-out sofa that could be used as additional bed. The two bedrooms are located on the first and second floor. Both floors have double beds, as well as seperate bathroom with shower and toilet.
2) The Village of Bages
Bages is a village with 840 inhabitants (1. Jan 2010) in the department Aude, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Thanks to its picturesque landscape, Bages has always been a magnet for artists and has two art galleries. Despite its small size, it has four restaurants specialising in mediterranean cuisine; two bars with terraces on the central square - one of the bars being both a grocery and a bakery shop (all in walking distance). Aside of these activities the village has a port and a 'boulodrome' were the traditional 'petanque' game is played.
Bages is situated in the beautiful wine-growing area Corbières. Bages is part of the 'Parc Naturel Régional de la Narbonnaise en Méditerranée' making the region very attractive for hiking and biking. Bages is about 20-25 km away from the well-known beaches of Narbonne-Plage, Gruissan and Port-La-Nouvelle. On the other side of the lagoon La Nautique has a windsurfing school and the neighbouring beaches of La Franqui and Leucate are famous for their kite surfing and wind surfing respectively.

3) How to get there get away
Bages is ideally located 10 min from Narbonne with TGVs deserving major cities like Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, Montpellier and Toulouse. From the motorway you can take the exit 'Narbonne Sud' on the A9 towards Barcelona and then take the N9 direction Perpignan. Following the N9 you should pass by two roundabouts, the second indicating the first exit to 'Rochegrise' and the third exit to 'Bages'. After following a small road for three min you will reach your destination. To access the house, just follow the signpost directing you to the village center. Important to note, in the village you have free parking opportunities, it can however be difficult in high season to find a parking in the old village. In that event, I recommend unloading your car at the house and park in the lower parts of the village were there is more parking space. Cities in close proximity include: the medieval city of Carcassonne as well as Beziers and Perpignan, all three about 30 min away with Ryan Air airports; Montpellier (Airport) and the spanish border (both 1h00); Toulouse (1h30 + Int'l Airport) and finally on the Spanish side Girona (1h30 + Ryan Air) and Barcelona (2h30 and Int'l Airport).
