Ice fishing right off our shore produces walleye, crappie and perch. We have a fisherman’s haven just waiting for you!

Enjoy this charming 2 bedroom cabin on Cable Lake in Spooner, Wisconsin. In the early 1930’s, an old boxcar was skidded across the frozen Cable Lake and became a cozy little cabin. Today, tucked beneath a stand of mature Norway pines, it is a great place to enjoy the solitude and beauty of northern Wisconsin. The large front deck sits right on the waters edge and is a perfect place to relax, watch the loons, bald eagles & sunsets or plan your fishing strategy. Lovely place for up to 4 people.

Hunt Hill Andrews Cabin

Welcome to Hunt Hill Nature Center! We are a private, non-profit environmental education and learning center. The rustic Andrews Cabin offers a peaceful retreat in the woods. The Andrews Cabin is located just off the main camp, settled on top of a hill overlooking forest and lakes. All new furniture, curtains and newer appliances were installed in May 2019. Nearby towns offer additional entertainment or relax in our quiet setting while reading a good book in front of the stone fireplace.

Sit on the deck and listen to the loons in the summer or warm up next to the woodstove or in the barrel sauna in the winter. We are known for beautiful sunsets with quiet surroundings and located minutes from the famous Brule River, great hiking trails nearby and a 35 minute drive from Duluth/Superior or a bit further east to the Bayfield/Ashland area. Stay in one of the oldest structures in Sawyer County with private Lake Hayward frontage in your front yard and the Birkie trail, atv and snowmobile trails in the backyard! You can hike, bike, ski, or ride the trails directly from our yard. Plenty of parking-driveway is a loop. Cabin was completely renovated top to bottom in spring of 2021. Enjoy serenity and country feel but also close proximity to Hayward. (2 miles to main street)
