We border a Department of Conservation reserve that resonates with the sound of birdsong, enjoy nature on your doorstep, private access to the Whanganui and Whakapapa Rivers, great fishing, swimming and walking. Or simply stay put read a book, relax and soak up the classic NZ scenery.

Stunning Lake Retreat

This stylish and unique retreat space sets the stage for a memorable trip to a beautiful part of Lake Taupo. A stand alone spacious modern room with ensuite, separate from the main house with a stunning view of the lake. We are a short walk to the lake for swims or use our kayaks. We are surrounded by gorgeous nature walks. You may wish to treat yourself to a relaxing massage, or book in for boating excursions & water-sports, $150 for first hour, $100 per hour thereafter. Shannon Cottage (summer)

Comfortable cosy cottage beside Mt Ruapehu. Ideal for bikers, Tongariro Crossing hikers or photographers exploring the local scenery. Independent so you can come and go at will. Full kitchen (though basic with retro fridge and no dishwasher), TV, DVDs and Chromecast, unlimited wifi, laundry, heating & aircon. One double room and one room with 2 singles (that can push together), plus a couch bed in the living room and a travel cot. From mid-May to Oct book 'Shannon Cottage (winter)' instead.

Lake view B&B Studio

Our warm and sunny Lake view studio is in a garden setting located adjacent to our Lake front residence. Off street parking, direct access to the Lake. Small kitchen with microwave, coffee machine, fridge, toasted sandwich maker, Weber BBQ, Pizza cooker, air fryer. You have your our own private en-suite. Super King size bed, Leather couch, dining table. Heat pump for Summer cooling or heating during the Winter months. Complementary continental breakfast is left in your room. Free view TV

Semi detached sunny compact studio joined to main dwelling by deck located on our lifestyle section. Studio has a deck divided from the main dwelling by a screen for privacy. Private entrance/lock box. Kitchenette, continental breakfast provisions on first morning supplied - microwave available (no stove top or oven) . Samsung Smart TV (Freeview TVNZ+ etc), you will require your own subscription for streaming services. Off street park. You will need a car as there is no public transport.

Our place is close to the great Tongariro National Park. It includes Mt Ruapehu for skiing or snow boarding and tramping. Walk the world famous Tongariro Crossing and discover the cycle ways, kayak the Whanganui River and explore the 'Bridge to No Where'. Try trout fishing, a game of golf or visit the Waiouru Army Museum. Enjoy our cosy home with a wood fire whilst taking in the amazing mountain and rural views. Our place is good for couples and families (with kids) or small groups.

Waireka Apartment, situated in Ohakune in the Ruapehu District is a self contained 2 bedroom apartment each with a queen size bed, a large lounge with mountain views, kitchen and own spa pool. Spa Pool operates from 10am to 10pm Cleaning on departure is included in the rate. Jailhouse Ridge is a fully self-contained unit with its own private access, ideal for couples. It is surrounded with 7 acres of gardens, ponds & paddocks. Your own private spa awaits you on the deck & is serviced daily. With a Queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, en-suite & log fire, it has everything you need for a fantastic stay. The mezzanine floor, accessed by a steep staircase, has a sofa, 42" TV , Freeview, DVD, WIFI. An extra 32" TV with Chrome-cast is downstairs.
