Beautiful rustic cottage set on an island in Muskoka only 1.5h from Toronto. You’re feet from the water in a quiet calm bay. There’s lots to do outside including clean water swimming,a lily pad for swimming fun, kayaking canoeing or jump in the paddle boat. There are games and movies for rainy days or quiet nights and satilight TV. There are other cottages on the island and many are quick to make new friends but also respect privacy.
There is no motor boat but as your host I can arrange for pick up and drop off at the government dock where there is free parking during your stay. You can also rent boats at Six Mile Lake Marina or can bring your own.
This lake is amazing for swimming, fishing and family fun or quiet relaxing. It’s very clean and the culture of the lake is friendly, safe and helpful to all who enjoy it.

Six Mile Lake Sanctuary cottage offers a peaceful lakeside island retreat. Set on 200 ft of shoreline, in a quiet bay with easy access to the rest of the lake. Relax on the dock in Muskoka chairs overlooking the bay. Watch the wildlife and listen to the loons. Take a nap in the hammock by the water. The morning sunrise and starry nights are magical! In the evening enjoy a bonfire or cozy up inside with a good book, a movie and wood stove. Memories made at the lake last a lifetime!
Our cottage is on a boat access only island shared by a small group of cottagers. We are a 5 minute boat ride to the local marina. Steps from the lake is a spacious screened in porch, including a large sitting area with dining table. Start and end your day in this peaceful space that brings the outdoors inside. Open concept living, dining, and kitchen area provide a perfect social gathering space with wood burning stove to keep cozy and warm on cool nights. Three private bedrooms are found on the other side of the cottage, separated from the open concept living area. There are 3 separate covered porch areas offering quiet outdoor spaces for everyone. There is a walk out basement with laundry facilities, garbage & recycling storage, an extra freezer and fridge. 2 kayaks, a paddle boat and a sturdy Coleman canoe are available for guest use. There is a swimming ladder for easy access in and out of the water. We also have a floating raft. The water is approx 8 feet deep off the dock. I often stay at the adjoining property in a small guest cabin. If I’m there I’m happy to assist guests in person with any questions.
The cottage is located on an island, boat access only, in a small, quiet bay on Six Mile Lake. We share the island with other cottages. A large portion of the bay is crown land. It’s common to see lots of wildlife in a day including loons, and various birds. There is a subtle current that runs through the bay keeping the water fresh for swimming.

Welcome to your weekend getaway in Muskoka. Located on beautiful Six Mile Lake, our island cottage has all the amenities of home in the heart of the Muskoka region. Enjoy dinner on the deck followed by a hot tub and a night under the stars. Our cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps 5 comfortably (2 queen beds and a futon). Our guests typically like to relax at the cottage itself - sun tanning, playing pool and soaking in our outdoor hot tub. We also have a paddle boat and a swimming dock right into the bay. Our cottage is situated on an island, a five-minute boat ride from the marina. We will pick you up at the marina and drop you at the cottage on the day you arrive. There is so much to do while you are at the cottage itself that you likely won't want to leave but if you're with us for a while, we can arrange to have a boat take you to the marina and back if needed. Alternatively, if you have a boating licence and would like to rent a boat, you can do so at the Six Mile Lake marina. We can give you the info if you're interested.
    The view!

Tudo no lugar certo.

    Richard2018-11-04T00:00:00Z

Great trilhas a pé, maravilhoso natação no cofre, Nice ofurô e lareira .... tem tudo!

    Zoya2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nós realmente apreciamos a nossa estadia e definitivamente voltaria novamente. A localização é linda e passamos a maior parte do nosso tempo ao ar livre, explorar a ilha, canoagem e natação no lago.

    Welcome to Riverstone.
The main level of the cottage is the hub, with an elegant kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is equipped with all you will need to prepare the meals to keep your group well fed, and the dining area enjoys bright light from all sides. A few steps takes you into the living room, a magnificent centerpiece to this cottage with a cathedral ceiling and floor to ceiling windows with a view that just doesn't quit. The master bedroom is just off the living room and is complete with a 4-piece en suite and its own private deck area - great when you want to sneak a morning coffee before everyone is up and about or enjoy a nightcap under the stars. There are 5 bedrooms in total, plus an additional pair of twin beds in the loft, so there is lots of flexibility to handle any makeup of which your group may consist. Of course, with large groups you may need to do a load of laundry now and then so there is a washer and dryer on the lower level. The lower level isn't just utility though - on this walkout level you will find another living area complete with large screen TV and those great views and additional sleeping space. Of course, if the sun is making things a little too hot, Riverstone has central air-conditioning for comfort no matter what. Let's go outside and have a look around. You DO have to exercise some caution on the grounds as the cottage is located high up on the rocks and there is a drop off. As such, this property may not be suitable for small children who like to roam. There is a staircase of about 60 stairs that will take you down to water's edge, where you will find good deep water swimming. A view down the channel is spectacular, giving you the feeling of being in a canyon or fjord. As you are located on a channel off the main river, the only boat traffic you will see is local, but of course you can head into the main river, where the boating is world famous. Be sure to experience the marine railway at Big Chute - and you are just a couple of locks away from Georgian Bay. For local exploring there is a paddleboat. For those who like longer excursions on the lake, a pair of kayaks will take you as far as you care to paddle.

Nestled in the forest on the lake, enjoy a relaxing, off the grid, semi rustic, glamping style retreat on an island in a newly built cabin with queen bunkbeds. Beside the cabin is a spacious outdoor screened in gazebo living space and an outdoor camping kitchen. In the evening stargaze in comfy club camping chairs around the firebowl. A newly built outhouse is nearby. Enjoy the lake sitting on the floating dock, lounging in the lakeside tent gazebo or out in the canoe or paddleboat.
This property is located on an island on Six Mile Lake. It is boat access only. This island is shared with other cottages. This glamping property adjoins our cottage property where I reside.
We are on a shared island, boat access only, on Six Mile Lake. The bay is quiet and is host to lots of birds and wildlife. The property faces uninhabited crown land. Our location is well suited to canoeing.

    Jessica2019-08-27T00:00:00Z

A cottage getaway for you and your family/friends. Our space can sleep 8 people. This property is right on the river with water access via the dock at the back of the property. Soak up the sun on the huge sundeck and then jump in the river to cool down. Enjoy your stay!
Our cottage has lots to offer. Being right on the water allows you to jump in whenever the mood strikes! The water level varies at different times of the year but typically it's about 8 - 10 feet deep off the end of the dock. There's also great fishing all along the river. Large mouth bass, perch, pike and muskie have all been caught within feet of the dock. The sundeck has four locally built Muskoka chairs to help you kick back and enjoy the view with some family and friends. Please don't use these around the fireplace as the ground is not level and the Muskoka chairs have a tendency to break and tip over. The fire pit is ready to go when the sun goes down, but make sure to check the fire danger rating in effect during your stay. The rating changes frequently through the summer and can be checked online at TownshipOfSevern (the rating is at the bottom of the page). It's also posted roadside on the way up to the cottage, just outside the Town of Coldwater. Our cottage is located quite deep in the forest away from the closest public roadway, so there's plenty of space to explore the woods/go for a hike. Bring bug spray in the summer, and be wildlife aware. The cottage is winterized and there is a wood stove inside the cottage that is very effective, wood is provided and will be stacked beside the stove. There's also baseboard electric heating if that's preferred. The unfinished basement is not winterized, we use it to store some of our cottage maintenance stuff like paint and tools. It will be locked during your stay however if you bring some water toys, cottage gear, skis/snowboards equipment, etc. that you would prefer to store in the basement we can arrange for you to have access, let me know a few weeks before you arrive so we can leave the keys for you. The cottage is on a septic system so no grease, toxins, bleach or any solids down the drain and only flush human waste and toilet paper. It also helps the system flow better if there are only 2 showers or 1 bath per hour.
The Township of Severn is a beautifully tight knit community. For all the necessities like food, water, gas, water toys, liquor and beer, you'll want to visit the small town of Coldwater which is a 15 minute drive from the cottage. You'll also likely drive through this little town on your way in from the city. For any emergencies there's a general store just 5 minutes up the road from the cottage that conveniently has a beer store & LCBO. There's also lots of activities, sites, and restaurants along the river for you to experience and enjoy. Restaurants: The Waubic - A great place to grab a bite (if you've got a boat) This restaurant has been providing guests with a unique dining experience since 1913 and luckily for you they are located almost directly across the river from you! This is a boat access only restaurant and Tamarack Park and Marina offers a taxi service if you don't have something to float in on. The Marina is a 5 minute drive from the cottage. Riverhouse Restaurant - You'll always find great, homemade fresh food, served with a cold beer here! For everyday lunch or holiday dinners, Riverhouse Restaurant in Severn Falls is the place to go. They are fully licenced and offer a wide selection of wines and draught beer. They also have free wifi. Ice cream: Virtually every marina on the water sells ice-cream with our favourite being the River Emporium at Severn Falls Marina. Their servings are huge and they have lots of flavours. They are located about a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute boat from the cottage. Activities and features: Lock 44 - Big Chute Marine Railway is a truly unique boat lock system and is an incredible feature to watch in action. The Lost Channel - Almost a secret waterway on the river as it actually appears to lead nowhere while you boat past it, the lost channel is a beautiful part of the river that can lead you to Cain Lake for a little adventure and some fun on the water. Cliff jumping - there is one spot in particular along the river that is excellent for those looking for an extra thrill. Let me know if this is something you're interested in and I'll help guide you to it, you will need a boat. Scuba diving - directly below the cliffs is a great place to explore the river below. I haven't done this personally, but I have seen lots of diving down flags in this area. Severn Bridge Railway - this is an active railway and a real beauty to boat under. Its also possible to get up to the tracks themselves for a great view and sweet picture. Snowmobiling - in the winter there is trail access about 10 minutes from the cottage.

  • Minha família teve ótimo tempo no chalé.

Check-in / check-out foi suave. Nós apreciamos caiaque e canoagem durante a estadia. Eu recomendaria definitivamente a estadia aqui.
