  • A nossa estadia foi absolutamente maravilhosa. A casa é linda e absolutamente impecável.

Note-se que não há freezer ou banho. Recomendaria altamente!

A tranquil haven to escape to and lose yourself in the beauty of nature waiting on your doorstep. Your 1 acre garden has places to relax, free range chickens (eggs for breakfast!) roaming, a bee hive and is full of interesting trees and wildlife. The picturesque Whitebrook stream runs the length of the garden and you can clamber down and explore. Our 18th century stone-built cosy cottage is ideal for 2 with open plan kitchen/dining/living & double bedroom/ensuite shower. 15 minutes to Monmouth.
Our newly renovated cosy getaway is perfect for 2 people looking for a short or long break, fab for exploring the Wye Valley and convenient if attending local functions or visiting friends/family. Singles, couples, friends and families all welcome and we do have an additional double bed settee in the lounge/diner/kitchen and 2 chair beds in the bedroom. A simple breakfast is provided in the annexe and includes milk, cereal, bread & jams/marmalades. Tea and coffee supplies also provided. Mobile reception is patchy, there is a landline in the house should you need it. Wi-fi isn't available yet!
A fab and picturesque village with real character set in a valley with a pretty stream running down to the river Wye. "The Whitebrook" the village's very own fab Michelin starred restaurant is 300m down the road from us - great for special occasions. "The Boat" at Redbrook is a great bike ride away (bit tough riding back up the hill!) but well worth the cycle (or you can drive) - an old traditional Inn with log burners nestling on the banks of the Wye - local ales/ciders and simple pub food. Walking, mountain biking (great off-road tracks), road cycling, kayaking, canoeing are all either on our own doorstep or on the doorstep of the village. The old castle towns of Monmouth, Abergavenny and Chepstow are short drives away with an abundance of beautiful villages, walks and country eateries scattered throughout.

This is our newly built light and airy self contained guesthouse set in the beautiful Forest of Dean. It's the perfect location for exploring all that the forest has to offer. We are on the edge of the village of Bream and you can access the forest from the lane opposite, straight down a path and you're into the woods. It's a great spot for walking and there are lots of mountain bike trails that start from our door step. We live in the cottage next door and share the off road parking.
The flat is wheel chair accessible and has a super king-size electric bed that can be split into 2 singles if needed. The sitting room, kitchen and bedroom are all open plan. We can provide a pressure washer for mountain bikes and have a lockable cellar for over night storage. The flat has many velux windows in the ceiling so natural daylight may wake you up in the mornings. There is under floor heating throughout. The flat has a small private court yard with seating area, a gas barbecue and a little pond that is set high over toddler height. We can provide a travel cot and there is a fold out futon in the sitting room so potentially Little Oak could sleep more at an additional cost. Dogs are welcome at an extra cost of £5 per dog but please do not let them on the furniture. We also have a friendly dog and a cat.
Bream has a coffee shop, 2 village shops and a pub all with in walking distance. We are a mile and a half from Whitemead Forest Park with a swimming pool, sauna, steam and jucuzzi, restaurant and bar which can be reached through the woods from Little Oak. A further 1/4 mile into the village of Parkend you'll find two of our favorite Forest pubs that serve good food. Other well know attractions in our area: 2.6 miles to the amazing Puzzle Woods famous for being used in Star Wars and the TV series of Merlin and is said to have inspired Tolkien's Middle Earth. 2.5 miles to Perry Grove Model Railway, 3.6 miles to Clearwell Caves, 5.7 miles to the beautiful Wye Valley and the river Wye. There are many places you can rent mountain bikes in the area and there are various canoeing companies that can take you down the Wye. And of course there are the acres of woodlands cared for by The Forestry Commission in which you are free to roam, build dens and enjoy fantastic walks.

Situated within the owners property, sited in the centre of the Forest of Dean a mere 100 yards from one of the best mountain biking and cycling centres in the UK. Access to washroom is up and down some well lit steps. There is bike storage and facilities to wash your bikes. We are located almost opposite Cannop cycle centre (pedalabikeaway) and its fantastic mountain biking downhill trails- one of the best in the UK.
We live in a small quiet village with forest all around. There is direct access into the forest over a small brook. We have constantly changing views as the trees go through the year. The birds and wildlife bring a morning chorus and evening song,(often very loudly). Wild boar and deer often pass the gate. The Wye valley offers walks, canoeing, riding and peregine falcons. We also keep honey bees. The Forest of Dean has some fantastic attractions for everyone including Clearwell Caves, Hopewell colliery, Puzzlewood, Secret forest, Perrygrove, steamtrains and MaryRose pottery to name a few! Nearby is a butterfly farm and maze and River Wye boat trips.

Danby Cottage is located in the Forest of Dean. So close to nature there's a good chance of seeing wild deer right outside the front door! Forest walks, parks, cycle paths, activity centres, craft centres, pubs and places to eat are all within walking distance. After a long day you'll be able to sit back and relax in the garden in the summer, or by the log fire in the winter! Our extended cottage has been designed specifically for family living with a large living dining room.
The living dining room has a wonderful pitched ceiling and log burning stove for those winter evenings. Our downstairs and garden are completely accessible to wheelchair users. The cottage is surrounded by forest and there are lovely walks in all directions. The kitchen is well equipped for keen cooks and has a lowered worktop for wheelchair users or young cooks who want to help! The cottage was extended in 2007 and great care was taken to make the whole building sustainable. We won a gold for green tourism which we still maintain.
The cottage is in a very peaceful and quiet setting. The area has a very interesting agricultural and industrial history of which there are many remnants to visit. Puzzle wood was once Roman ironworks, Hopewell coal colliery still welcomes visitors, clear well caves was once the source of ochre used for painting and the Forestry Commission have done much to enhance their sites for visitors, including Go Ape and the Sculpture trail. The Speech house is now a hotel with good grub but was once the Verderers Courthouse.

We are situated less than a mile away from the village of St Briavels. It is a vibrant little village in the Forest of Dean, on the edge of the beautiful Wye Valley. It has an inn, an art gallery, a deli, a church and a castle. A monthly farmers' market is held in the village on the first Saturday morning of every month, where you can buy a whole range of local produce, including bread and cakes, cider and real ale, fish, and speciality meats.
The lodge is an annexe next to 150 year old cottage - close to Offas Dyke path and Wye Valley. The accommodation is a galleried open plan loft space with private shower room, kingsize bed, single bed and a Z bed to accommodate a 4th guest, if required. There is also a seating/lounge/tv area. Own private entrance. There is a cooking area with a double plate electric hob, a microwave/small oven, a toaster, a mini fridge and a kettle. We will take your washing up and put it through the dishwasher in the main cottage. There is free wifi, but, due to our location, it can be quite patchy. The annex also has it's own private lawned garden, with a seating area - you are more than welcome to bring a disposable BBQ. along. There is also a lovely village pub less than a mile away which serves a range of delicious meals, next to St Briavels Castle. There is also a deli/small café in the village, along with a park and tennis courts. From 2020, we will also be offering a "Bring your horse on holiday" option. We have room for 2 horses at the property. Prices to follow soon.
Discover things to do in or near St Briavels: The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is home to a great range of attractions - some man-made, some completely natural but all of them well worth a visit. You may wish to discover the area's history, or enjoy a stroll around a nature reserve. There’s an array of family oriented attractions where you can all have fun, relax or enjoy some animal magic. On rainy days there’s also plenty to do from museums to caves or how about spending some time riding a steam train through the forest or taking a cruise down the River Wye. There really is no shortage of ideas for things to see and do in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Christmas time and Clearwell Caves is the place to be. Their themed ‘Christmas Fantasy’ always comes up trumps and they never fail to deliver an awesome display that can be enjoyed by the whole family. At various times throughout the year keep an eye out for other inspirational theatre and musical events at Clearwell Caves – the setting is so unique it makes the shows very special. Father Christmas also sets up his grotto at Beechenhurst and Puzzlewood near Coleford.

Recomendado.

Situated in the beautiful Forest of Dean, on the edge of the Wye Valley and just a couple of miles from the Welsh border, our town house provides a great base for exploring this lush, wooded region. Located in the historic market town of Coleford, it's also conveniently placed for shops, pubs and eateries. Our family lives in the main part of the house, but the loft room is tucked away from our living spaces so you will have plenty of privacy.
The spacious attic room is a quiet haven with a super comfy bed and green and pleasant views of the surrounding gardens. It is at the top of the house, so you do need to climb up a few flights of stairs. The airy bathroom on the floor below your bedroom will be all yours (we have a separate one downstairs). Young families welcome - we can provide a floor mattress for a little one. Please note: the extra bed is really only suitable for children. Please let us know if you plan to bring a child. Free on-street parking. Please read our house rules before booking.
Coleford is a historic small town with little shops to browse, bakeries, pubs, chip shops, cafes and a supermarket. The place comes alive at the annual music festival in July (it can be noisy!). It's a stone's throw from Symonds Yat, Offa's Dyke Path, Beechenhurst, Speech House, Clearwell Caves and Puzzlewood. Tintern and Monmouth are about 20mins, Chepstow, Abergavenny and Ross-on-Wye 25mins.

This beautifully and sympathetically, renovated cosy cottage is nestled in the village of Redbrook and literally sits on the England & Wales border - the border is a brook that runs through a culvert under the cottage so you can take a shower in England and then make yourself a cup of tea in Wales! Charming 2 bedroom stone mid-terrace cottage with direct access into the woods, on the family cycle path with free use of 2 adult bikes. Perfect for couples, friends & families with a king sized bed & 2 singles.
We renovated the cottage in 2018 to create a peaceful home from home, light and bright and full of original character. The cottage is on the edge of the popular village of Parkend on a no through lane, looking out over fields and woods and passed by the family cycle track. It really is a brilliant location for walking or cycling straight out into the Forest, or whiling away an afternoon in the garden listening to the occasional 'toot' of a steam train. The cottage is reached down a wide flight of steps, whilst not steep, access may be difficult for guests with limited mobility. I love to garden and have pots of flowers outside in the sunny courtyard. A secure, lockable stone shed houses the washing machine and has plenty of space for bikes (our tandem has fitted in with ease!). The front door opens straight into the kitchen / diner, well equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven & ceramic hob, fridge with ice box and wonderful old dresser. The table comfortably seats 4 with plenty of room to cook and chat, or spread out a map and plan your days. A child's high chair is available on request. We provide a monthly local highlights poster (from wild daffodil walks, times of the Severn Bore, music and events) as well as lots of leaflets on local attractions. maps. walking guides and guide books. Look for Ediths Cottage on facebook for more information. The sitting room has original panelling, comfy sofas, a smart TV, books, maps & guides, phone and wifi as well as the most lovely old fireplace with a modern, efficient wood burner. We provide kindling, matches and your first basket of logs (we cut & season our own firewood from conservation projects). Nothing beats a good fire on a winters night! The wood burner is supplemented by modern electric wall heaters throughout. The sitting room also looks out through French windows onto the pretty cottage back garden and patio with outdoor table and chairs, perfect for the summer. Please note that there are 3 un-guarded steps down into the garden and a low shrub border separates the garden from a neighbouring shallow garden pond. Toddlers and young children must be supervised at all times in the garden. The bathroom opens off of the sitting room with a large electric shower - we do not have a bath! The stairs leading off the sitting room are relatively steep and narrow leading to a twin bedroom looking out over fields to woods and a double bedroom with a King bed and its original Victorian fireplace, looking out over the gardens. There is plenty of wardrobe and drawer space but this may need to be shared between the two rooms. All linens including quality bedding and towels are supplied. A child's travel cot is available on request (bring your own bedding). We also supply washing up liquid, dish washer & washing machine consumables, loo roll, milk and starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. We welcome car free guests and can arrange taxis from Lydney station (4 miles away). In the Summer it is even possible (Wednesday & Sunday) to arrive by steam train which connects with through trains at Lydney! We provide 2 bikes (adults only) for your use. Brilliant for exploring the miles of car free cycle tracks and enjoying the peace of the forest. Please contact me in advance if you want to borrow the bikes for our Ts & Cs. Extra bikes including children's and mountain bikes can be hired in the village (booking advised).
Parkend is in the heart of the forest, it has a lovely welcoming holiday vibe, with two great pubs serving food (The Woodman & The Fountain) a well stocked village shop, post office and cafe, Dean Forest bike hire & cafe serves excellent coffee and has a brilliant secluded back garden overlooking the steam railway. The popular Dean Forest Railway has family friendly events (think Thomas & Peppa Pig) throughout the year. Whitemead Holiday Park is also on the edge of the village with a good restaurant, facilities and music through the season open to non-residents. All of this is within an easy walk of Ediths Cottage. What makes us really special is the miles of beautiful mature woodlands on our doorstep, a haven for wildlife, walkers and cyclists alike. We provide maps & guides to help you get the most from your trip, we are just 3 miles along the family cycle trail to Pedalabikeaway centre, the Sculpture Trail and Beechenhurst centre. Look out for free roaming sheep, deer and even wild boar, this is a great location at any time of year.

Spring Cottage enjoys a peaceful setting surrounded by indigenous forest set above the River Wye. Featuring two bright and pretty bedrooms, an attractive bathroom, kitchen with a range of modern appliances, dining area with oak table and chairs, cosy lounge with wood burner, detached studio/conservatory and extensive garden/woodland.

You can expect to arrive to a spotless cottage, with beds made using premium cotton sheets, Egyptian cotton towels laid out and all essentials (loo roll, salt, pepper, coffee, soap, dishwasher tablets etc.) provided together with a few luxuries (locally laid eggs and freshly baked bread). There is additionally free wi-fi in the cottage. The ground floor contains the sitting room which is the perfect place for relaxing after a days’ walking or enjoying a cosy night in in front of the fire. It has a natural stone floor, wooden beamed ceiling, two double sofas, a modern fully glazed woodburner, a television and DVD player. There is also a bookcase stocked with novels, magazines, DVDs and board games. The recently fitted cottage kitchen/dining room is very functional with an electric hob and cooker, extractor hood, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster and kettle. The room has an oval oak dining table and chairs and phone/mp3 player dock for playing music. The kitchen is well equipped with cookery equipment and utensils, crockery and kitchen and dining linen. Larder essentials are also provided including tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, olive oil, washing up liquid, soap and dishwasher tablets. Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room with storage for boots and coats, a washing machine, ironing board, iron and counter-top freezer. A covered external walkway leads from the utility room to the conservatory which has a comfy 3-seater sofa and table and is the perfect place for an afternoon read or as a playroom for children. The first floor is accessed via an oak staircase off the lounge. The bedrooms and hallway have thick natural wool carpeting, hand painted furniture and solid wood windows with stunning views over the valley. There are two bedrooms in the cottage – the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and the second bedroom either two singles or a king (please specify your preferred arrangement when booking). Beds will be made before your arrival and the towels will be laid out. All bed and towel linen is 100% Egyptian cotton. The Bathroom has a full length bath with separate shower above, heated towel rail, WC and counter top basin. The bathroom also benefits from some of the best views of the valley from the cottage. Spring Cottage is set within an acre of its own land which includes a pretty cottage garden. A barbecue and outdoor table and chairs are provided during the warmer months. Above this garden is an apple orchard and beyond this is woodland, which is blanketed in bluebells during the spring. Parking for two vehicles is available in the driveway. Please note vehicular access to Spring Cottage is via a one and half mile long narrow single-lane road which whilst suitable for cars is not suitable for vehicles larger than a Ford Transit. Children of all ages are very welcome. We can provide a highchair and travel cot if requested but don’t provide cot linen as guests generally prefer to bring their own. We also have toys, books, board games and DVDs to keep our younger guests entertained! We are dog friendly! Up to two dogs are welcome at Spring Cottage but in the interests of other guests they are not permitted upstairs or on the furniture. A fee of £5 is payable per dog per night to cover the additional time needed to thoroughly clean the cottage for the next guests.
Spring Cottage is spoilt by the number of great options for places to eat and drink nearby including the following favourites: The Brockweir Inn, with it’s open fire, serves wholesome pub food, ale and cider and is a short one mile walk from the cottage. Tintern, two miles away, has a number of pubs. Our favourite for steak is The Rose & Crown Inn in Tintern and for a fine view of the Abbey and a hearty pub meal The Anchor Inn. A little further afield are two fine gastro-pubs both serving quality food in traditional pub surroundings: The Inn at Penalt and the Ostrich Inn in Newland are both 10 miles away. For fine dining, we would thoroughly recommend the Michelin Star restaurant The Whitebrook, which is 8 miles from Spring Cottage. Past guests of Spring Cottage have also recommended a number of restaurants in Monmouth (15 miles) including The Misbah and No 7 Church Street for Bangladeshi and modern European food respectively.

This is Bertie! A lovely converted vintage horse box set in 1 1/2 acres. There’s a woodburner and a small electric heater in the van so you’ll be cosy over winter. The main kitchen is outside but there’s a hob in Bertie too. There’s also a fire pit to sit around, a compost loo and electric shower (in wooden structure so potentially a bit chilly in winter!) . Bertie is in St Briavels, between the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley. Price includes wood for fires and use of beautiful grounds.
Bertie is a gorgeous old boy! He's beautiful but he is a bit rustic too so only come and visit him if you enjoy the outdoors. The bed is up a set of steps, see pics, so just to make you aware you'll be climbing up to get into your cosy nook. He lives in an old quarry with beautiful limestone walls and is covered with trees. It's a fab place to just hang out and relax, make fires, cook and generally get away from the hectic pace of every day life. Please note that we have wifi up at the house and you are welcome to walk up and login, but it doesn't extend to Bertie. It's a long way down!
St Briavels is on the edge of the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, on the Welsh border. It's a great place to access endless walks in both the valley along the river and the thousands of acres of forest, there's canoeing on the Wye and if you want something a little more urban we're about an hour from Bristol or Cardiff. You can walk to the local pub the George for drinks or a meal and the village has a little deli shop. We're about 15 minutes from both Chepstow and Monmouth for a bit of shopping or lunch out. Or you might just prefer to hang out in the quarry by the fire :)
