The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Welcome to Castle Mews, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Castle Mews is a hidden gem of a cottage, at the end of a short row of cottages tucked away down a gated passageway, right in the heart of the lovely market town of Cirencester. In Roman times Cirencester was known as “Corinium”, when it was the second largest town in Britain, a history that is celebrated in its local museum. Nowadays, Cirencester is the largest town in the Cotswolds, enabling it to support a wide range of pubs, restaurants and shops, all housed in beautiful honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings. The town is surrounded by stunning countryside and beautiful Cotswold villages, as well as being an ideal base for visiting further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford or even a day trip into London. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Castle Mews is very peacefully located, down a gated passageway off Castle street, a beautiful street in the heart of Cirencester. There is a lovely enclosed courtyard garden at the front of the cottage, which leads to the front door. The door opens into the open plan ground floor: Living/dining area: The relaxing living and dining space contains a comfy sofa, an armchair and a wooden dining table, with seating for two. Discretely hidden away in a wooden cabinet is a small SMART TV and DVD player; Kitchen area: The lovely kitchen area is very well laid out and contains a two ring induction hob, electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and a washing machine/tumble dryer. Stairs lead up from the living area to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom: A lovely eaves room, with oak beams and a ledge and brace door, which contains a king size bed; Dressing room: A nice additional space, which contains a sofa, a dressing table and a free standing towel rail; Bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. Returning downstairs, a stable door leads out from the kitchen area to a small, enclosed courtyard garden at the back of the cottage, which contains a table and two seats. The garden area at the front of the cottage is larger and is a beautiful place to sit outside and relax, containing two comfy chairs and a small table.
Bourton-on-the-Water is arguably one of the most popular villages of the Cotswolds, especially amongst overseas visitors. Having been nicknamed the "Venice of the Cotswolds", its scenery is the main draw for travellers. The River Windrush meanders through beautiful English countryside before passing over rapids next to the Old Mill and arriving at Bourton. The river is fed from many springs, with the source approximately ten miles from the village and, after flowing under the bridges of Bourton, it passes other villages before eventually joining the Thames. There are various attractions in the village, including the famous Birdland, which is home to a variety of birds from around the world. Here visitors can see parrots, pelicans, flamingos and penguins to name just a few, with experienced keepers feeding the birds and leading demonstrations. The Model Village is well worth a visit, as Bourton is the only village in the Cotswolds to have a one-ninth scale replica of itself. It is carefully maintained and has all of the characterful buildings including the Old Water Mill and the Old New Inn. Those lucky enough to witness snow in the winter months will notice photographers at the model village trying to get the perfect picture of the snowy scene. Another family favourite is the Dragonfly Maze. This yew maze leads visitors through the labyrinth, gathering clues in order to find the pavilion in the centre which enables them to unlock the final secret! The maze was constructed by Kit Williams, author of the golden hare treasure hunt book, "Masquerade".

My apartment is newly renovated and decorated. I would describe my deco as being modern and feminine. I invite fun and laughter into my home
This apartment is in a great location! North Swindon is beautiful, quite and central place to live. There is a Tesco express one black away. You can see it from the bedroom :) 0.7 miles away there is a really really nice Shopping Center that features various stores (Asda, New Look, Boots etc) as well as various dining options (McDonalds, Nando’s and Costa) along with a very nice gym. Swindon is a great central location with London, Reading, Bath, Bristol and Oxford being very easy to get to. Swindon offers a small town feel however there is so much to do. Old Town offers a fun night out with various pubs, clubs and bars on offer. During the day Town Center offers loads of shopping options and various museums and parks that that are fun for everyone

Welcome to Fairholme, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Fairholme is a wonderful Grade II listed property which sleeps four guests, in two elegant bedrooms, with a spacious family bathroom. Dating back to the 17th century, this Cotswold stone property has retained lovely character features including exposed beams, an exposed Cotswold stone chimney breast and a large fireplace in the living room with a roaring real fire. These period features have been complemented by stylish furnishings and modern facilities, including wireless internet access, a Freeview TV and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a pretty garden to the rear of the property and free on-street parking is available close by. Fairholme is located in the picturesque town of Northleach, an unspoilt town which boasts a number of independent shops, restaurants and pubs, including The Wheatsheaf Inn which is just a stone’s throw from the property itself. The town prospered during the Cotswold wool trade and this funded the impressive 15th century church of St Peter and St Paul. Every Wednesday, locals and tourists alike come to the town for the open-air market which showcases local produce, and the annual Northleach Charter Fair and Music Festival in June is a wonderful event for all ages. On the outskirts of the town sits Stowell Park, a private estate whose stunning gardens are open to the public during the months of May and June each year, offering fine views over the Coln Valley and displaying gorgeous flowers. Northleach is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many cycle routes and walking trails on its doorstep to explore. It is also well placed for visiting the other lovely towns and villages of the Cotswolds, including Cirencester, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chedworth, home to the Roman Villa which is owned by the National Trust. Further afield destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath are also within easy reach for day trips. Localização é excelente - à direita no coração da Cotswolds perto Stow, The Slaughters e Bourton-On-The-Water.

Existem bloqueios no quarto!

The Notgrove Estate is a 1500 acre family run working farm owned by Harry and Diana Acland. Set high up in the Cotswold Hills it has 400 acres of grassland in deep valleys and 100 acres of woodland and rolling arable fields. The farm has a mix of sheep, cattle and arable and has diversified with two horse livery yards and a holiday cottage business. In the last few years Harry and Diana have put in new foot and bridle paths and entered into a wildlife conservation scheme planting 200 acres of special plots planted with wild bird mixes, corn bunting mixes, pollen and nectar mixes for bees and beetle banks that promotes the preservation of our natural wild birds. The scenery changes with each season as does the pattern of farming; we have an abundance of lambs and calves in spring, harvest in summer, colourful autumn leaves and dramatic winters, often with snow.

House with plenty of character, clean and bright.
I have used colour through out my home which promots a feng shui calm feeling, also the garden has full trees and keeps everything cool with a lovely breeze in the summer.
There is a drive to my house so parking is safe, the position off my home is 5 mins to M4, Hospital and A419, 8 mins to Nationwide and town centre, also short drives to some off the most beautiful country side destinations, and pubs. The local supermarket is round the corner.

Food & Drink Bourton has a variety of places to eat and drink, including cafes, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, with a range of prices to suit all budgets. The list below is a small sample of the options available: The Chester House Hotel and The Croft Restaurant (www.chesterhousehotel.com): Breakfast, morning coffee, lunches and evening meals in a riverside restaurant. You can enjoy freshly prepared, local produce throughout the day and night, with seasonal specials added to the menu daily. The Duke of Wellington (www.dukeofwellingtonbourton.co.uk): A local village inn aiming to provide fresh home cooked food with a friendly service. There is a light snacking menu, a full menu and a wonderful range of desserts and hot beverages. As well as daily home cooked specials, on Sundays you can enjoy a traditional carvery with all the trimmings from 12-6pm. The Mousetrap Inn (www.mousetrap-inn.com): A traditionally run Cotswold stone Inn, with a history dating back to the building of the railways in the 18th Century. Serving home-made food, along with fantastic, locally brewed real ales. The Village Restaurant & Tearooms (www.thevillagerestaurant.co.uk): Traditional, home cooked food in a friendly atmosphere, overlooking the river Windrush, in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water.

The Studio is a cosy single storey self-contained annexe to the owner's house in the Cotswold village of Poulton. Double bedroom, en suite shower room, fully equipped kitchen/living room with sofa bed, private courtyard garden. WiFi, underfloor heating, freesat TV, parking. Basic breakfast included. Great village pub nearby.
Bed linen and towels are provided. On-drive parking is available for two vehicles. The property is adjoined to the owner's family house, but is completely self-contained with its own access. There is space to store bicycles securely (behind a locked gate). To the rear there is a small, private courtyard garden. The property is self-catering but the cupboards are stocked with items for a basic breakfast, plus tea and coffee. The property is compact but well-equipped and newly decorated and furbished throughout. Everything is brand new and clean: the conversion was completed in January 2016. It will sleep two comfortably. There is also a double sofa bed which will sleep a further two people, but space is very limited when the sofa bed is extended, and it is a bit of a squeeze. Please also be aware that access to the toilet and shower room is through the bedroom. Babies and children of all ages are very welcome.
The village of Poulton has a shop, a well-equipped children's park, a church and a fantastic dining pub, The Falcon Inn, which is renowned for its quality food (booking for dinner, particularly at weekends, is advised, as they are often fully booked in advance). Poulton is also home to Performance Cycles (cycling club), and the area is very popular with cyclists at all levels. The village is well situated within the Cotswolds, 5 miles from Cirencester, 3 miles from Fairford, 4 miles from Bibury, and within a half-hour drive of Cheltenham, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Malmesbury and Bourton-on-the-Water. Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge are all within an hour's drive. Kemble train station is 10 miles away, with the journey to London Paddington taking just under an hour and a half. Beautiful countryside is on the doorstep - just step outside and start walking! Nearby attractions include the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Cotswold Water Park (with watersports and a beach), the famous village of Bibury (described by William Wordsworth as "the most beautiful village in England") with its trout farm, Cirencester with its boutique shops, spa hotel, gastropubs and historic architecture, Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park, and Swindon's Steam Museum and designer shopping outlet centre. Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge are all within an hour's drive. National Trust attractions include Chedworth Roman Villa, Buscot Park and Hidcote Manor Gardens, and the fantastic Westonbirt Arboretum is also nearby. Local events include the Royal International Air Tattoo in July, the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Cheltenham Festival in March, the Cotswold Show in July, Cirencester's Phoenix Festival (family music weekend) in August, and WOMAD world music festival in July. Westonbirt Arboretum holds autumn colour events, and Colesbourne Park holds snowdrops walks in the winter.
