A beautiful self-contained Cotswold Coach House with room to relax and enjoy your stay. The front door leads into a kitchenette and a small sitting room and you have a downstairs small shower room with a good sized shower. Staircase leads up to the bedrooms and hallway links the two bedrooms and and bathroom, with a lovely roll top bath. This Is Bnb, a base to explore the Cotswold The kitchen area has a dishwasher, fridge, 2 ring hob and microwave. It is a small kitchen area for heating up food. Small sitting room with tv. The Bathroom features a stylish Rolltop bath. The first Bedroom has a super comfy double bed, decorative furniture. The second Bedroom can either be made up as a double or two single beds. All of your bed linen and towels will be provided. I provide breakfast for the first morning, Tea, coffee, milk, Juice, butter, jam and croissants. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine. It is a private self-contained coach house and you will be the only guests. Please come and go as you wish. Strictly no smoking in the building. I run a quiet Beauty Salon in my garden, please inquire if you would like to book in for a treatment! Guests also have access to the terrace, so you can sit outside and enjoy refreshments looking out across the glorious countryside views. No public transport from the village, but taxis easy to book. Lovely walks to some great pubs and Chastleton House (National Trust) Moreton in Marsh Train Station 4 miles away - Direct links to Oxford and London Paddington. I
The neighbourhood is picturesque, steeped in history & very safe (since the English Civil War of the 1640's was concluded!) The Cotswolds is filled with lovely places to dine out - there is a nice village pub, The Red Lion, within walking distance. Please just ask for any recommendations of places to visit during your stay. Chastleton House is a mile away & described as the finest example of a Jacobean Country House in England. Little Compton has a Stunning Manor House with Saxon/Norman Church adjoining. The Walks from The Garden Room are spectacular, for example, an hour & half walk through fields will take you to Long Compton & another Red Lion for lunch perhaps?.. equally fabulous food. Traveling further afield by car or taxi, you have Moreton in Marsh, Chipping Norton, Stratford Upon Avon, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Woodstock & Blenheim Palace, Cheltenham, Oxford, all under an hour to get to & all beautiful towns.

  • Uma homestay muito recomendada! O anfitrião Pamela foi muito bom. A casa é ainda melhor: Pamela mora ao lado, para encontrá-la a qualquer momento. O quarto era muito confortável, todo acarpetado, quente e a cama era muito confortável, não o tipo de colchão macio que desmoronaria, para evitar dores nas costas depois de acordar. Lá embaixo é a sala de estar, café da manhã é croissant e máquina de fazer pão com máquina de café, tudo está disponível. A localização também é boa, não muito longe de Morton-in-Marsh, recomenda-se a condução autônoma, o ônibus pode não ser muito conveniente.

    Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, Reino Unido

    This 300 year old cottage has an abundance of period features, is comfortably furnished and well equipped. There are 2 double bedrooms +single fold down guest bed and a child's cot. The beautiful village of Kingham is just a 30 minutes from Oxford and 90 minutes from London Paddington.
    The village was voted "England's favorite village" by Country life magazine and by the Sunday Times newspaper, as one of England's best places to live and most fashionable place to live in the UK, it has its own station with services in to London Paddington (90 mins) and Oxford (30 mins), there are two great traditional pub's/restaurants in the village, the Michelin star Wild Rabbit pub was voted pub of the year 2015 by the Michelin Guide and reviewed by the Daily Mail as England's poshest pub. The Kingham Plough is an award wining gastro pub, reviewed by the late AA Gill, the former Sunday Times food critic....." the kitchen is a serious restaurant work place. The bar menu is as fine as any Ive seen, any one thinking of opening a local pub restaurant should come here and see the gold standard ". All are within a short walk from the cottage. Also near by is the renowned Dailsford organic farm and spa. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside, great for long walks and being the very hart of the Cotswold's, close to many places of historic interest.
    Great little village, nestling in the very hart of the Cotswold's, one of England's areas of outstanding natural beauty and historic significance, there is a local village shop/post office, were you can get cash back over the counter, 3 great places to eat or just have a drink, all have nice outside spaces to enjoy in the sunshine and log fires, lovely village green with small play area and public transport. SO A CAR IS NOT ABSOLUTLY NECESSARY.

    Not a country cottage so no low ceilings, dark rooms and draughts..just well insulated and thoughtfully designed cabin with large windows to take advantage of the views. Definitely not glamping either as full facilities. Not located on a picture postcard street, just in large garden at end of quiet cul de sac but with main road running behind cabin. No struggle to find parking as ample space in own courtyard. Priced so I can afford to include all the little extras that guests value.
    Visiting on own or as a couple then enjoy Super King bed but easily splits into twins. Space in bedroom for cot and single folding bed or double inflatable mattress available for use in Sitting Room. Might be a bit cosy but great if only for a night or two. I have furnished in shabby chic style but with quality items all repurposed to create comfortable but functional environment. Love this quote left in visitor book "You close the door behind you and you've entered a secluded little retro world" You want a bit of peace and quiet well that is relative as most of my guests are escaping town life so find it very tranquil and scarcely notice road that runs at back of property. Others notice at first but soon realise view is more of a distraction especially when dining alfresco or enjoying the stars due to village Dark Sky status. Do remind guests that will need a torch when walking back from excellent Red Lion as no street lights. Having family members with disabilities I am aware of problems finding suitable accommodation so have designed with that in mind - not the complete set up but Octogenarian wheelchair bound friend stayed and he and wife found perfect for their needs. No sumptuous cottage garden - I'm the gardener so have to be realstic. Managed to save a few mature trees during build process in 2015 and much new planting that will be magnificent in couple of years but in meantime my natural border does include grasses and thistles as after all a weed is only a plant in wrong place and bees and butterflies love. Also have bird feeders and nesting box just outside bedroom window and blue tits particuarly love. Have thought about privacy carefully as their are occupants in main property but layout has been thought through to ensure everyone has own space without infringement on others enjoyment. Have had usual trials with IT but now have cabled connection to router and reliable service. Though most of my guests seem to really enjoy 'turning phones off' and listening to late Aunt's eclectic vinyl collection on multi media player. Similarly there is a TV but not dominant plasma screen just one discreetly tucked into corner. Have had guests for long term stays so always happy to discuss options if you need a base while working away or if between house sales.
    Little Bulpits (field for Bulls) was Old English field name of field before development and hence unusual name for this property. Long Compton is a charming Cotswold Village located in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and excellent walking area (MacMillan Way). On A3400 with Oxford and Stratford on Avon both 20 miles. The Rollright Stones are located on edge of parish. There is a well stocked village shop 5 minutes walk away and popular village pub 10 minutes walk. Local towns are Chipping Norton, Moreton in Marsh and Shipston on Stour. Whichford Pottery, Cotswold Distillery and Hook Norton Brewery located in neighbouring villages. Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Daylesford Farm Shop, Blenheim Palace and Compton Verney Art Gallery are both within half an hours drive

    A cosy Shepherd Hut, named Ronald, set in 60 acres of tranquil Cotswold countryside. Glamping at its finest with all the comforts of home in the great outdoors. Conveniently located 5 minutes drive from Moreton in Marsh, with direct train links to Oxford and London. Durhams Farm is home to over 30 much-loved horses and ponies. Horse riding experiences are available whilst you stay. The perfect location for couples, adventurers and equine enthusiasts.
    Camping may not be at the top of everyone’s list during the winter months but Ronald is a very reasonable alternative. We’ve kitted him out with hot and cold running water, heating and electricity too, so you can relax and enjoy all of the comforts of home, in the great outdoors. Ronald has a comfy fitted double bed, with storage underneath and all of your bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchenette is stocked with crockery and cutlery, a kettle, an electric single hob, toaster, fridge and sink. There is private seating outside your hut with beautiful views surrounding. Great for stargazing and the sunsets at the farm are beautiful. During the winter months, radiators will be added to keep you warm. There is a heated shower room a short walk (25metres) from the Huts in a blue cabin. Here, guests have shared (max 4 guests at any one time) access to a shower, WC and sink. Ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers! We have two huts available at Durhams - great for group trips! Apologies, we do not accept bookings for young children (under 10) and/or pets. Wifi is not available in the Hut but can be accessed on the farm all day. Visit the riding school reception to connect your device.
    Our Shepherd Hut is set in a stunning part of the Cotswolds within easy reach of picturesque towns such as Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. Stratford upon Avon, Cheltenham and Warwick are both within a 40 minute drive. There are miles of bridleways and footpaths to explore in the surrounding area and some great local pubs and restaurants. Daylesford Organic is 3 miles away too and well worth a visit whilst you stay.

    Our charming barn conversion on the edge of attractive Churchill village offers a stunning country view and is a perfect base to explore the Cotswold's unique Outstanding Natural Beauty.
    The barn consists of two spacious bedrooms, family bathroom and an open plan kitchen/dining area with a fantastic living area offering stunning views to soak up. Local highlights are: Daylesford, the award winning organic farm shop & cafe The Chequers of Churchill Pub, 2 minutes walk away. The renowned medieval market town of Burford with its Cotswold Wild Life Park and Burford Garden Centre. Stow-on-the wold Chipping Norton Blenheim palace The Wild Rabbit, the PUB OF THE YEAR in the 2015 edition of the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide. Bicester village Kingham and many more beautiful Cotswold villages to explore. Oxford city and Cheltenham are also a short drive away. **Please note** Minimum requirement for Christmas : 3 nights booking and must include 24-26 nights. New Years Eve : 2 nights minimum This is due to holiday seasons and it would be lovely to give our cleaning staff a well deserved break to celebrate their time with friends and families.
    We love the stunning views and peacefulness. Our children love the playground by the village hall and eating at the local pub!

    This is a fully converted Wash House that once served a three hundred year old house. It's made of honeyed Cotswold stone and is set in the heart of our tranquil village. Made for two! The rear windows look out onto an orchard and the front have stunning views down the Windrush Valley.
    This is the Golden Mile of the Cotswolds. There are country walks from your front door; river banks and villages of honeyed stone. Popular destinations include: Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh as well as beautiful smaller villages like the Slaughters and Bibury.

  • O Washhouse era um edifício mais original. O loft quarto era acolhedor e romântico. Devo dizer, que a cama é o melhor que eu já dormi-lo. A dimensão total do hotel cama king size com lençóis brancos. As clarabóias são incríveis! Esta foi a nossa primeira visita às Cotswolds, o que é uma parte surpreendente da Inglaterra!     Welcome to The Tap Room, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. The Tap Room is a charming Grade II listed cottage in the much loved Cotswold village of Kingham, one of the most desirable culinary destinations in the Cotswolds and home to The Big Feastival weekend in August. The Wild Rabbit, an award-winning pub, is moments from the cottage and the Daylesford Estate is less than two miles away, making it an ideal lunch stop on a country walk. Many of the picturesque villages and market towns of the North Cotswolds are close by, including Bourton-on-the-Water, The Slaughters and Stow-on-the-Wold. Kingham has a train station with direct train links to London and Oxford, making further afield destinations easily accessible without a car.     The Tap Room enjoys an idyllic corner plot with its main entrance being via the back door. Opening into the dining area, the following rooms are on the ground floor, all with underfloor heating: Living room: This delightful living space has a cosy yet contemporary feel, with exposed beams and an exposed Cotswold feature stone wall. There are two sofas and a footstool, a Smart TV with DVD player, Bluetooth speaker and a selection of board games; Dining area: Tastefully decorated, this dining area has two picture windows on either side of the back door which overlook the attractive garden. There is a wooden table with seating for six; Kitchen: Adjacent to the dining area, the well-equipped kitchen has solid wood surfaces and contains an electric oven, four-ring electric hob, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster and cafetière. There is also a slimline dishwasher, washing machine and DAB radio; Family bathroom: The smart family bathroom contains a bath with an overhead shower, separate handheld shower attachment, toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the dining area to a spacious first floor landing in the eaves, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: A characterful room with an exposed Cotswold stone wall and original oak beams. It contains a king size divan bed, a large cupboard with a hanging rail and an Ottoman with two drawers. The Velux window overlooks the garden below and has a blackout curtain; Bedroom 2: At the opposite end of the landing is the second bedroom which has two single divan beds, an Ottoman with two drawers and a cupboard for storage. The garden is accessed via the back door which opens onto a patio area with smart Rattan armchairs and a matching glass-topped table. Mostly laid to lawn, the garden is bordered by attractive shrubs and fragrant lavender, and two mature trees provide shade in the sunshine. A charcoal barbecue is available in the summer months as well. This attractive outdoor space is fully enclosed, however, young children and dogs should be supervised at all times. The cottage has parking space for two cars in the carport and further on-street parking is available in the village.
    Voted "England's Favourite Village" in 2004 by Country Life magazine, Kingham is a beautiful, unspoilt Cotswold village, with a large open green and some elegant stone and thatch cottages, mostly dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is situated in the Evenlode valley, a short drive from the well known Cotswold market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton. There has been a church on the site of St. Andrew's Church for at least 900 years, although the present building is a mixture of ages. The font is 13th century, the Perpendicular Gothic tower 15th century, the nave roof is dated 1774 and the rest of the church was remodelled in 1851-3. The church also has a fine old rectory, built in the 17th century. Kingham has two highly regarded pubs, a village shop and is just a mile away from Daylesford Organic, which is well known for its organic food, cookery school and spa. Kingham is also the only village in the Cotswolds that is served by a main line railway station, which provides regular services to London Paddington station. Food & Drink Kingham is fortunate to be blessed with two of the best village pubs in the whole of the Cotswolds, as well as a welcoming hotel, and is just a mile away from the well known Daylesford Organic Farm: The Wild Rabbit (www.thewildrabbit.co.uk): Owned by Lord and Lady Bamford, and described as "the poshest pub in Britain", the Wild Rabbit has been totally refurbished and boasts a total of three real fires in its dining room and separate bar. The menu reflects the seasons and celebrates everything that is great about local produce. All ingredients are carefully selected for their quality and are organic, where possible; The Kingham Plough (www.thekinghamplough.co.uk): The Kingham Plough has established a well deserved reputation as an outstanding dining pub and has deservedly been recognised by numerous awards bestowed by various different bodies. The modern British food is inspirational, not your ordinary Gastro-Pub menu, where everything is prepared from scratch by a team of skilled chefs. Headed by chef-owner Emily Watkins and head chef Ben Dulley, the menu offers an exciting take on English classics. The kitchen is dedicated to making the most of the carefully sourced local ingredients and everything from the charcuterie to the baked beans in the award winning breakfast is proudly made by hand.     Stow Cottage Barn is part of a large barn conversion accessed via a sweeping gravel driveway. The front door is at the back of the property and opens into a spacious entrance hall, leading into the well-laid out open plan ground floor area. The following rooms are on the ground floor: Living/dining room: This bright and airy space has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove, and exposed oak beams. There is a large sofa with two matching armchairs, a stylish wooden trunk coffee table, a wall-mounted Freesat TV with Netflix, and a writing desk and chair. The round wooden dining table seats five, and is positioned between the living room and the kitchen; Kitchen: This well-equipped space has a large electric range oven with a five-ring induction hob, a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee machine and a large fridge (the freezer is located in the entrance hall). There is a breakfast bar with three high-backed stools; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin.     The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

The wonderful open riser spiral staircase in the living room leads up to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 2: This smart and stylish bedroom overlooks the street below and has a lovely arched doorway.     Chipping Norton, better known as "Chippy" by locals, is a well-known market town in the Cotswolds which has been runner up in the Great British High Street awards for small market town for the last two years. Once the site of a Norman castle, the town is the highest in Oxfordshire and has a number of notable buildings to visit. The Town Hall proudly marks the days when the town was a Borough. It was built in 1842 and used to host the poultry and butter markets on Wednesdays, as well as the Corn Exchange. It was also used for entertainment and auctions and lucky visitors may catch a glimpse of a bride and groom as the hall is licensed for weddings. A picturesque row of traditional Cotswold stone cottages can be found in the town which were once almshouses given to Chippy by puritan Henry Cornish. The almshouses are set back from the road and are entered through a grand archway which has elaborate finials and cresting. Another standout building is Bliss Mill. It dates back to the 1870s and was once used in the manufacturing of wool and tweed for cloth manufacturer William Bliss. The mill was designed to look like a country house, but has the large chimney at one end for which it is recognised. It is now a Grade II listed building and was converted into luxury apartments in the 1980s. Being a relatively small town, it comes as a surprise to many to find a theatre in Chipping Norton. The team put on an array of productions including theatre, music, comedy and the annual pantomime. As well as live performances, the theatre also screens a range of classic, art house and foreign language films. Food & Drink As one of the main market towns in the Cotswolds, Chipping Norton has a wide variety of places to eat and drink, catering for most tastes and budgets.     Located in the north Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the principal market towns in the region. The main feature of the town is the historic market square which used to play host to the annual sheep fairs where, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, up to 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The market square is steeped in history and has two features which date back to the medieval period. At one end of the square there is the medieval cross which was erected to urge traders to carry out fair business under the eyes of God, and at the far end stand the town stocks which are found in the shadows of the old elm tree. Originally known as Edwardstow or Stow St Edward after the town's patron saint Edward, the town's church is also named after him. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now. Food & Drink Stow has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. Behind the ivy-clad façade lies a charming, stylish interior with the warmest of welcomes. A favourite with the locals, The Bell is open all day every day offering everything from a pint of well-kept cask ale through to a delicious three-course supper. At the end of the garden is a useful utility room, which contains a washing machine, two tumble dryers, and a freezer, as well as a shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin. The utility room is perfect for cyclists or walkers returning from a day out in the countryside, and three adult bicycles and helmets are provided for guests to use (at their own risk). Free parking is available within 50 metres of the cottage, adjacent to the village green. Upon arrival, luggage can be unloaded adjacent to the village hall, approximately 20 metres from the cottage.

    A beautiful 16th century thatched cottage located in "Englands Favourite Village". A stones throw from The Wild Rabbit and the UK's 'Dining Pub of the Year 2019' - The Kingham Plough. A home away from home with two king beds, an aga-style range cooker and a log burner. 20 minute walk down the lane from the famous Daylesford farm and 20 minutes to Soho Farmhouse. A short drive from from famous Cotswolds villages such Stow-On-The-Wold, Bourton-On-The-Water, The Tews, The Slaughters and Burford.
    A friendly and happy home to visit for eating and drinking, walking or unwinding in-front of the fire. We have 2 double bedrooms upstairs and a shower room downstairs. In the living room there is a large comfortable sofa, a dining table for 4-6 people, a kitchen with an Everhot aga-style range cooker and Nespresso coffee machine. **Although some days may appear shaded in my calendar, my dates are always changing so please do contact me if you have alternative dates and would like to stay for a week or more**
    The cottage is in the heart of Kingham which was voted "Englands Favourite Village" by Country Life magazine. It is just a 2 minute walk from the famous Wild Rabbit pub and restaurant also 2 minutes from the Village shop and The Kingham Plough, which was voted the county's and the nations best dining pub by The Good Pub Guide 2019. Daylesford Farm is 20 minutes walk down the bridle path which comes practically to the door of the cottage and Soho Farmhouse is just a 20 minute drive away. Villagers are incredibly friendly and walks in and around Kingham are beautiful, not to mention the sunsets over the lane are STUNNING!

    Stay warm within thick stone walls by stoking a wood burner nestled under a sturdy timber mantel. Wake up to views of a picturesque village from a bedroom window. Brew espresso in a modernised kitchen and drink it at a bistro table in the garden.
    Grade II listed and built around 1700, Westward Cottage has been renovated, furnished and equipped to a high standard. Wait a moment while you're making your way to the front door and, weather permitting, the subtle smell of lavender and the gentle drone of bees will fill the air around you. *Note: The cottage is currently being decorated ready for rental - further (better) photos to follow!* On the ground floor, there is a small but cosy lounge containing a traditional log burner and a luxury Mulberry fabric sofa together with access to Netflix, Apple TV and a Sonos sound system. Similarly, the kitchen maintains a traditional look whilst being equipped with mod-cons such as a Bosch dishwasher, SMEG appliances and a KitchenAid coffee machine. There is a small but pretty garden space to the back of the cottage with just enough room for a table for two. The first flight of stairs leads on to the first bedroom containing some charming traditional features and a luxury double mattress as well as the bathroom with a cosy bath and shower. Please mind your head when showering! The second bedroom is up a further flight of stairs in the loft and comes equipped with a wall mounted TV, Apple TV, a Sonos sound system and a luxury King sized mattress nestled under the eaves of a giant log beam. There is also access to an outbuilding towards the back of the property which contains a washing machine and separate dryer as well as ample space for storing logs and muddy boots. Please note that the cottage is typical of its time and has a few quirks you will need to be mindful of, namely low ceilings and wooden beams (mind your head when entering the front door, kitchen and when showering, for example!) and a relatively steep main staircase…but I think you will agree that this all adds to its crooked and traditional charm. Space in the lounge area and back garden mean that whilst it is more than comfortable to host up to four people, the cottage is perhaps most ideal when occupied by two. There are a number of other of cottages available in very close proximity to Westward cottage (including immediately next door) which could be booked simultaneously, subject to availability.     The Smithy is on the corner of a quiet road, in the heart of Chipping Norton. The front door is accessed directly from the pavement and opens into the main ground floor living space. The following rooms are on the ground floor: Living/dining room: The stylish living room contains an exposed Cotswold stone wall, wooden floor and a cosy wood burning stove, There is a large sofa, a snuggle chair and an armchair, as well as a flat screen SMART TV. The dining area contains a large wooden dining table, with seating for six; Kitchen: The contemporary kitchen is well laid out, and contains an electric oven, four ring gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, combined washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a kettle, toaster and a Nespresso coffee machine (without capsules); Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and a wash basin. Stairs lead up from behind the dining area to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: A bright and airy room, which contains two single beds; Bedroom 2: Another elegant room, which contains a double bed; Bedroom 3: The standard setup of this room is with a single bed, however a further 75cm wide pull-out single bed can also be setup in this room, upon request. There is very little floorspace available in the bedroom when the pull-out bed is setup, especially when set up as a twin; Family bathroom: A stylish, modern bathroom, which contains a bath with overhead shower and handheld shower attachment, toilet and wash basin. At the rear of the cottage is a small, elegant courtyard garden, which contains a bistro table and seating for four.
    Chipping Norton, better known as "Chippy" by locals, is a well-known market town in the Cotswolds which has been runner up in the Great British High Street awards for small market town for the last two years. Once the site of a Norman castle, the town is the highest in Oxfordshire and has a number of notable buildings to visit. The Town Hall proudly marks the days when the town was a Borough. It was built in 1842 and used to host the poultry and butter markets on Wednesdays, as well as the Corn Exchange. It was also used for entertainment and auctions and lucky visitors may catch a glimpse of a bride and groom as the hall is licensed for weddings. A picturesque row of traditional Cotswold stone cottages can be found in the town which were once almshouses given to Chippy by puritan Henry Cornish. The almshouses are set back from the road and are entered through a grand archway which has elaborate finials and cresting. Another standout building is Bliss Mill. It dates back to the 1870s and was once used in the manufacturing of wool and tweed for cloth manufacturer William Bliss. The mill was designed to look like a country house, but has the large chimney at one end for which it is recognised. It is now a Grade II listed building and was converted into luxury apartments in the 1980s.

    Robin Cottage is accessed via a beautiful, enclosed, south facing front garden, which contains an outdoor table and seating. The front door opens into a good sized hallway, off which the main open plan ground floor rooms are: Living room: a spacious, yet cosy room, with character features including oak beams, a wood burning stove and a lovely antique writing desk. There is comfortable seating for five and a Freeview TV, with DVD player. Oak doors open into a utility room, which includes a freezer and a washing machine; Dining room: Contains a wooden table, with seating for six, as well as a beautiful Welsh dresser. There are French doors leading out to the back garden and a flagstone floor, which runs into the adjoining open plan kitchen; Kitchen: Contains a large range cooker, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and fridge. Returning to the hallway, stairs lead up to a lovely first floor landing, with exposed oak beams and stone walls. The Chapel’s front door opens into a stunning entrance hall, off which are the following rooms: Living/dining room: This bright and stylish open plan living area has an extensive collection of wall art and a beautiful glass lantern roof over the dining area.     Located in the north Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the principal market towns in the region. The main feature of the town is the historic market square which used to play host to the annual sheep fairs where, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, up to 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The market square is steeped in history and has two features which date back to the medieval period. At one end of the square there is the medieval cross which was erected to urge traders to carry out fair business under the eyes of God, and at the far end stand the town stocks which are found in the shadows of the old elm tree. Originally known as Edwardstow or Stow St Edward after the town's patron saint Edward, the town's church is also named after him. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now. Food & Drink Stow has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets.     Gables Cottage is accessed via its back door, which opens into a small porch and then a larger hallway. Two ground floor rooms lead off the hallway: Living room: A beautiful dual-aspect room, with flagstone flooring in half the room, exposed Cotswold stone, oak beams and a large inglenook fireplace, containing a wood burning stove. There is comfy seating for six and a flatscreen TV, with a full Sky package; Kitchen/dining room: Another dual-aspect room, with oak beams and a lovely window seat. The kitchen facilities include an electric single oven, four-ring hob, washer/dryer, a microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and a fridge/freezer. This sociable room also contains an extendable wooden dining table and six dining chairs. A beautiful wooden spiral staircase goes up from the hallway to the first floor landing. Please note that the staircase is steep and narrow, however, it does have a hand rail in the centre and fixed stair gates at the top and bottom. The following rooms are on the first floor: Master bedroom: Another beautiful dual-aspect room, with elm floorboards and oak beams, which contains a king size bed. There is also a small en-suite bathroom, containing an electric shower, toilet and wash basin; Bedroom 2: Again, a lovely dual-aspect room, with elm floorboards, oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone and an old inglenook fireplace, plus a hanging rail. A door on the landing opens onto another narrow, steep spiral staircase, leading up to the second floor. Please note that there is no handrail on this staircase, or safety gate at the top. The Granary is also well placed for exploring further afield places, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace and Oxford. In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". A second doorway then leads into the main ground floor space, which contains the following rooms: Living room: a lovely, cosy cottage living room, with exposed Cotswold stone walls, oak beams and an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove and traditional bread oven. There is comfy seating for six on two sofas and a window seat, and there is an Apple TV, with Freesat and a DVD player; Kitchen/dining room: The beautiful dining room contains an ornamental fireplace and a lovely window seat. There is a wooden dining table, which comfortably seats six. The new kitchen area is small, but has been very well designed to maximise the available space, and it contains an electric oven and grill, a four ring induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine; Utility room: Contains a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Wooden stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor landing space, which contains a lovely, quiet reading area. The following rooms are on the first floor: Bedroom 1: Contains a lovely window seat, SMART TV and a king size bed; Bedroom 2: Contains a beautiful oak timbered wall, window seat and two single beds; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. A wooden door on the first floor landing opens to reveal a staircase up to the second floor, which contains the third bedroom: Bedroom 3: In the eaves of the cottage, with lovely oak beams, a wooden floor, SMART TV and a king size bed. Returning downstairs, a door leads out from the utility room to a small courtyard garden, with a table and four chairs. Although small, the garden can be a lovely suntrap, particularly in the summer.
    Chipping Norton, better known as "Chippy" by locals, is a well-known market town in the Cotswolds which has been runner up in the Great British High Street awards for small market town for the last two years. Once the site of a Norman castle, the town is the highest in Oxfordshire and has a number of notable buildings to visit. The Town Hall proudly marks the days when the town was a Borough. It was built in 1842 and used to host the poultry and butter markets on Wednesdays, as well as the Corn Exchange. It was also used for entertainment and auctions and lucky visitors may catch a glimpse of a bride and groom as the hall is licensed for weddings. A picturesque row of traditional Cotswold stone cottages can be found in the town which were once almshouses given to Chippy by puritan Henry Cornish. The almshouses are set back from the road and are entered through a grand archway which has elaborate finials and cresting. Another standout building is Bliss Mill. It dates back to the 1870s and was once used in the manufacturing of wool and tweed for cloth manufacturer William Bliss. The mill was designed to look like a country house, but has the large chimney at one end for which it is recognised. It is now a Grade II listed building and was converted into luxury apartments in the 1980s.

A door from the kitchen leads out to an enclosed courtyard garden, which catches the late afternoon sun. There is a table with seating for six, a charcoal barbecue, and a shed that can be used to store bikes. At the end of the garden there is one allocated off street parking space.
    Located in the north Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the principal market towns in the region. The main feature of the town is the historic market square which used to play host to the annual sheep fairs where, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, up to 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The market square is steeped in history and has two features which date back to the medieval period. At one end of the square there is the medieval cross which was erected to urge traders to carry out fair business under the eyes of God, and at the far end stand the town stocks which are found in the shadows of the old elm tree. Originally known as Edwardstow or Stow St Edward after the town's patron saint Edward, the town's church is also named after him. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now. Food & Drink Stow has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. White Hart (www.thewhitehartstow.com): A 'boutique' style Inn, which has recently been beautifully refurbished throughout. The Inn boasts two cosy bars, lots of open fires and an atmospheric dining room. Hearty food is served during the day, with finer dining in the evening. All food is sourced locally and prepared on the premises; The Bell (www.thebellatstow.com): The Bell at Stow is the perfect country pub. Behind the ivy-clad façade lies a charming, stylish interior with the warmest of welcomes. A favourite with the locals, The Bell is open all day every day offering everything from a pint of well-kept cask ale through to a delicious three-course supper. Friday evenings are legendary for the Champagne Happy Hour at 5pm - grab a seat if you can as the weekend gets off to the perfect start!     Located in the north Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the principal market towns in the region. The main feature of the town is the historic market square which used to play host to the annual sheep fairs where, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, up to 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The market square is steeped in history and has two features which date back to the medieval period. At one end of the square there is the medieval cross which was erected to urge traders to carry out fair business under the eyes of God, and at the far end stand the town stocks which are found in the shadows of the old elm tree. Originally known as Edwardstow or Stow St Edward after the town's patron saint Edward, the town's church is also named after him. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now. Behind the ivy-clad façade lies a charming, stylish interior with the warmest of welcomes.
