Designed by eminent Edwardian architect Edgar Wood, the Parsonage House at Thurlstone in South Yorkshire is a delightful Grade II listed family home dating from 1906, situated in a beautiful and peaceful corner of South Yorkshire. I have spent more than a decade restoring the property to its original splendour, creating a stylish but relaxed atmosphere, ideal for both entertaining and unwinding. The house makes a perfect location for reunions, family gatherings and those attending a wedding. PARTIES - please contact owner first to discuss. In addition, the village of Haworth, home of the Bronte sisters and now one of the world's most famous centres of literary pilgrimage is just one of many other attractions. Although most visitors are expected to arrive by car, the Parsonage House is also easily accessible by public transport, with a regular train and bus service to Penistone and full bus link from there to Thurlstone.

Vistas deslumbrantes e arrebatamento do pulmão alegria.

This three storey listed weavers cottage retains many of the original features including mullion windows, a wonderful stone inglenook fireplace, York stone flagged floor in the kitchen and stone steps. It has views over the village and up to the surrounding countryside and moors of the Peak District national park. With Holme Moss viewpoint visible from the hot tub (optional charges apply see below). The master bedroom has a sumptuous super king size bed, but no space for storage, only a chair and two bedside tables, the wardrobe and the chest of drawers and dressing table are on the landing. The double bedroom is very tight with only room for the bed, one bedside table and a plant stand with a bedside light on it, there is only a very narrow gap to get around the bed to the far side under the window. When the weather is good the garden has two terraces with a table and chairs to take advantage of the view and an outside oven and BBQ on request for a small additional cost, this must be requested in advance. The very large kitchen is equipped with a range cooker, retro fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is a large kitchen table and chairs. It has a traditional Belfast sink and a solid oak work surface - they are old so they are not perfect, but spotlessly clean and we think add character. The sitting room has a log burning stove, comfortable classic sofa, two Ekorness Stressless leather chairs and a smart TV and Blu-Ray DVD player. The large bathroom has a vintage suite with a deep roll top bath and a rain shower within a separate cubicle. There is a large storage/drying room off the kitchen suitable for walking boots, cycles and prams. In the swimming pool room there is also an indoor spa bath. In the adjacent changing room there is also a sauna - if guests hire the pool, both are also available for £5 and £10 respectively if the swimming pool is booked. Guests of Your Yorkshire Time - Holmfirth Hot-tub Heaven (Eider, Mallard, Shelduck & Teal) can book the pool for their exclusive use for 75 minutes for the discounted rate of £30, or £60 for two hours 30 minutes. The swimming pool is situated at your hosts own home, 8 miles south of Holmfirth. The drive from Holmfirth to the swimming pool provides spectacular views of the Peak District. There are separate house rules for the swimming pool. Use of the pool is subject to availability. Please book early to avoid disappointment. To do so send an Airbnb message with your preferred time/s and dates.
Holmfirth is a quirky village, as woderfully showcased in the TV series Last of the Summer Wine. It is ideal for hikers and cyclists, but also for people who want to wander its quaint streets and enjoy the market and numerous shops, pubs and restaurants and other attractions. There is also a live music venue - the Picturedrome. The centre of the village is a two minute walk down steep steps and cobbles from the cottage. The walks can be accessed right from the door. Holme Moss, the steepest climb on the Yorkshire section of the Tour de France is a short cyle ride away. The river running through the village always has lots of ducks to feed and there is the famous annual Holmfirth Duck race and many annual festivals including the Festival of Folk, Arts Festival, the Food and Drink Festival and several beer festivals.

Ensuite bedroom in traditional country inn close to Langsett reservoir and Peak District moorland.
This room is one of three and part of an old coaching house Inn. The Inn has an open fire, solid wooden furniture, serves traditional pub meals and and is popular with walkers and cyclists.
Langsett is a very small hamlet, with no more that 20 houses, a cafe and National Park information. Langsett is on the edge of Pennine Yorkshire, the Peak District National Park and Derbyshire - making an excellent base for touring the area. Just four miles from the market town of Penistone, eight miles from the tearooms, antique and book shops of Holmfirth and ten miles from the world class Yorkshire Sculpture park. Langsett is great for walking - adventurous hikes, short evening strolls, the Pennine Way, TransPennine Trail and the new Peak Edges Walk are all close by - in fact the Peak Park produces an excellent book showing walks around Langsett. So you can take on anything from a half hour wander to a 14 mile bog trotting challange, safe in the knowledge that a well earned homemade pie is to be had back at the Inn.

A lovely double room overlooking woods half a mile from the centre of the market town of Holmfirth. English breakfast included and access to a private lounge with woodburner and door straight out into the garden.
This is a cosy double room with a wooden floor and original cast iron fireplace dating back to the 1880s. The window overlooks the garden, woods and stream beyond and still has the original wooden shutters. The room is quiet and dark at night (no ambient street light). There are old wooden beams, one of which is carved by local artist Mick Kirkby Geddes. Antique, but comfortable double bed with feather topper, chair, chest of drawers, wardrobe and dressing table. The room is part of our house so you will be sharing the main house bathroom, which includes a bath and drencher shower. (We do have other toilet facilities downstairs if there is a logjam!)
Holmfirth is a small market town, tucked into the foothills of the Pennines and about 5 miles from the centre of Huddersfield. The town is well known as the location for the popular TV series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ and visitors take advantage of the classic Summer Wine tours around the area in a vintage bus. There are many excellent restaurants in Holmfirth (Indian, tapas, Italian, French) and the fabulous Picturedrome (www.picturedrome.net) – home to a range of concerts and tribute bands. Throughout the year there are many festivals - including Holmfirth Festival of Folk (early May); Holmfirth Film Festival (late May); Holmfirth Arts Festival (mid-June); Holmfirth Artweek (early July) and the Festival of Food in September. We are also 30 minutes drive from the award winning Yorkshire Sculpture Park ( www.ysp.co.uk) and 40 minutes from the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield (www.hepworthwakefield.org). The walking is varied and beautiful and it is possible to walk out of the door of our house and straight up into the hills.

*Flexible cancellation recently added to prevent spread of Coronavirus. Property professionally deep cleaned before and after every booking* Beautiful cottage situated in Thurlstone, near Holmfirth/Sheffield/Peak District. Great for walks/cycling. Swedish Massage/Reflexology available to book. Ideal for a relaxing break. No TV channels but loads of DVD's, books, WIFI, Echo Dot. Chromecast/HDMI to run apps such as iPlayer/Netflix through your device. 5 min walk to pub, 1 to bakery.
It's one of the smallest dwellings in Thurlstone, which isn't a bad thing as it's just perfect for 1-3 guests and easy to keep warm and cosy. A quiet little under-dwelling with loads of character and a pretty, rural view. The building is listed, built in 1840, plenty of roadside parking.
Thurlstone is a quiet country town with a pub, free roadside parking, a small shop and lots of walks. Penistone is a market town and just 20 minutes away by foot. The award winning Huntsman Pub is a short stroll away, it's very popular with real ale drinkers and does amazing Sunday dinners and homemade pies. The new Fox Valley Mall is located nearby, it has plenty of shops and various restaurants. 10 minute drive. Also a 15 minute walk from the house is an Italian restaurant based in an old blacksmith forge (Tiamo) I think it is very good, fairly expensive (but quality) specials and reasonably priced pizza and pasta with 241 on Sundays and Tuesdays. Across the road from this is an Indian restaurant, very tasty food and reasonable prices (Taste of India). The White Hart is a highly rated pub/wine bar situated between and also does food. The Trans Pennines trail (five mins from my cottage) is perfect for biking and walking. You can rent bikes on the trail, half a day for £18. Or you can rent my city bike, helmet and lock for £10 a day. Langsett Resevoir is a very picturesque walk with a pub and cafe at its base, it's a 40 minute walk to get there, or five minute drive (recommended) Cannon Hall and Cawthorne Park is a ten minute drive away. Recommended!! The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is also close for drivers.

Enjoy a relaxing break in the countryside. Our beautiful old farmhouse is nestled in the gateway to the Peak District and set into rolling hills of green. We extend a warm, Yorkshire welcome to all our guests and invite you to explore the beautiful surroundings Our place is particularly popular for tourists who want to hike and cycle as not only are there many scenic walks in the area, but we are also on one of the 'Tour de Yorkshire' routes. There are a number of fantastic places to eat nearby
Our place is an old farmhouse, full of character and warmth (think low ceilings, wood beams and a cosy wood burning fire - in winter at least), set on a small working farm in peaceful and breathtaking surroundings (no noisy tractors at 6am). Although most of the farm is out of bounds (for safety reasons), if we are available, we are happy to organise 'meet and greet' with our chicks and chickens and take guests on guided tours around the little farm yard.
Bradfield (a few minutes from our place) is a picturesque little village in South Yorkshire (approx 20 minutes from Sheffield), tucked away in the green hills of the Peak District. You can watch cricket and bowls on the village green, relax on a bench with the ducks by the river, enjoy a waterside walk around one of the many local reservoirs, and enjoy local home cooked food at one of the local pubs or tearooms (walking distance from the village centre). Within 5/10 minutes drive there are two garden centres (food/ drinks served here too), and a lovely rural ice cream parlour, as well as a number of other country pubs that serve food and drink in lovely surroundings. There is also a local brewery that is worth a visit for those who appreciate fine ale. We love living here because it is calm and peaceful, set in beautiful surroundings. We are sure you will love it too and, whilst we cant guarantee the Yorkshire weather, we aim for our guests to have an enjoyable stay.

Our lovely Bunker is situated 3 minutes walk to the centre of Holmfirth and the Picturedrome. Built in our garden, this hideaway serves as accommodation for our large family to use when visiting. It has a large open plan kitchen/lounge diner with a sofa bed, one double bedroom, an office area, bathroom and a utility room housing the laundry facilities. It has underfloor heating and is double glazed. There is a dedicated parking space on our drive and a deck to sit on, in good weather.
The Bunker is delightfully private and self contained but only a stones throw from the centre of Holmfirth. Equally it is just a few minutes walk to the hills that made Holmfirth popular in "The Last of the Summer Wine" tv show.
We are located close to the centre of the lively and friendly town of Holmfirth. All the local amenities are conveniently available within walking distance. Whether you are here for shopping and sight-seeing; the food, music or art festivals; a live-music gig at the Picturedrome; or to enjoy a night out in one of the many pubs and restuarants, you will be able to leave the car safely parked and set off on foot down the hill to town . Please note that South Lane is steep but there is an easier shingle path up our garden to The Bunker. Our hens are free range so don't be surprised to find one trotting up the path with you. They may even lay you an egg for breakfast! Holmfirth is an ideal base or stop-over point for walking, motorcycling/cycling and touring holidays. It lies in the picturesque Holme Valley and is close to the Peak District National Park. We have many wonderful cycling roads in fact 'The Tour de France' route came through here before attacking the formidable climb up Holme Moss in 2014. There is a doctors surgery, council owned public gym and swimming pool less than 15 minutes walk away.

Welcome to "The Lodge", a charming converted Victorian washroom near the centre of Holmfirth - home of “Last of The Summer Wine” and The Picturedrome. Location: Across from our house, by the park. A 2 minute walk down the hill to central Holmfirth. Inside: Private and self-contained. Gas central-heating. Comfortable double bed. Wifi, TV, DAB radio. Fridge. Tea and coffee. Hairdryer. Shower room with toiletries and towels. Outside: Terrace with table and chairs. Reserved parking on our drive.
Our lovely mini-cottage was once the washroom to the main house. It was built from local stone c 1900 and originally contained white glazed tiles, a coal-fired range and a stone wash tub. On the side of the building is a face carved in stone, which we have been told is that of the man who had the houses built for his 2 daughters. We converted "The Lodge" into a spare bedroom about 10 years ago. It is well insulated and heated by a radiator and towel rail from a gas boiler located in our garage. On fine days you will be able to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine on the small terrace where there are garden chairs and a table.
We are located literally a stone's throw from the centre of the lively and friendly town of Holmfirth, adjacent to Victoria Park. All the local amenities are conveniently available within walking distance. Whether you are here for shopping and sight-seeing; the food, music or art festivals; a live-music gig at the Picturedrome; or to enjoy a night out in one of the many pubs and restuarants, you will be able to leave the car safely parked and set off into town on foot. There are also several cafes in the town to choose from for breakfast and lunch. Please note that Cooper Lane is steep with a cobbled pavement on one side only. Holmfirth is an ideal base or stop-over point for walking, cycling and touring holidays. It lies in the picturesque Holme Valley and is close to the Peak District National Park. The Tour de France route came through here before attacking the formidable climb up Holme Moss in 2014. The council-run gym and swimming pool, and a recreation ground, are only half a mile away by the river.

No. 18, Holmfirth is a cosy, quirky cottage - three minutes walk to the centre of Holmfirth. It's located at the top of a steep road, but benefits from beautiful views from the top (and the H3 bus runs up every hour!) Perfectly located for the Picturedrome, bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Holmfirth Vineyard is only a short drive away. Cannon Hall Farm and Yorkshire Sculpture Park are about 20 minutes away. Holmfirth also benefits from many loyal fans of Last of the Summer Wine.
Location: At the top of Cooper Lane, just 3 minutes from the centre of Holmfirth. Ideal if you’re visiting the Picturedrome. Cooper Lane is quite steep but benefits from the local bus (H3) running from the bus station in the centre of Holmfirth hourly from 9.25 until 16.25. After this time, if you don’t feel Ike walking back up, taxis are available (approx. £3). You could always take the scenic route through Victoria Park. From No.18, it’s a lovely walk starting half way down Cooper Lane! Outside: Bench to enjoy your morning coffee Patio area to the side of the house with table and chairs Parking on the road to the side of No.18 Inside: Wi-fi, TV, Amazon Fire Stick, DAB Radio Storage heaters Double bed Futon for a small guest (please let us know if you’d like this making up, in advance of your stay) Table top combination microwave oven Hob, fridge and washer Nespresso machine, kettle and toaster Bath and shower, with toiletries and towels Hairdryer and iron The space: Built c1900, No.18 is small but perfectly formed! The living room is cosy and traditional with a gas fire for those cooler nights. It has a table and chairs, suitable for a laptop. WiFi is free to use and the TV includes an Amazon Fire Stick. The kitchen is compact and includes a fridge, washer, combination microwave oven and hob. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine. No.18 has a spacious and bright bedroom with en suite bathroom, which boasts a bath and electric shower. In the bedroom there is also a futon which is ideal for a small guest or relaxing with a book. If you’d like this making up, please let me know before your stay. Your stay will be complimented with a welcome pack, which will include tea and coffee and some ‘essential’ Yorkshire extras. We include hair dryer, iron, towels, hand soap, shampoo, shower gel and face wipes! Extra bedding is also available upon request to ensure your stay is comfortable. Luggage drop off before/after your stay can be arranged but only with prior notice.
No.18 is a few minutes walk to Holmfirth. You can walk down by road or take a right (half way down Cooper Lane) through Victoria Park, taking in the stunning view. Holmfirth is buzzing with bars and restaurants. Try Lou and Joe’s, Y Bar or Harvey’s for yummy food! The Fair Trader shop, opposite Bloc (excellent breakfast), is well worth a visit too, I’ve often come out if there a few £s lighter! Holmfirth also has a Sainsbury’s Local, Co-Op and, a short drive away, Lidl and Aldi.
