A calm and cosy hut with a very comfortable double bed, an easy-to-use wood burning stove and lots of storage. Bed linen & towels included. Electric kettle & fridge, no cooking facilities but crockery & cutlery supplied together with tea, coffee & milk. Outside: large veranda and garden table & chairs & small garden barbecue. Shower/loo across the garden in The Wash Hut. Peaceful setting in our orchard paddock. Private parking & access.
We are a tiny business and have been building and restoring shepherds' huts for nearly 20 years. The design of our huts is derived from the old working hut used on the family farm two miles away - with some extra home comforts included! We are very conscious of the original purpose and history of shepherds' huts and promote wool as much as we can: like all our huts this one is insulated throughout with Thermafleece (85% wool) and has a proper British made wool & cotton mattress which should provide you with an excellent night's sleep. The hut is absolutely secure with fully lockable door and windows.
Salle is a tiny village with a huge and beautiful church. Park Farm is over 400 years old and was originally the main dairy farm for the Salle Park Estate. We are 10 miles from Norwich and 15 miles from the North Norfolk coast. The village of Cawston is about a mile away with an excellent delicatessen/cafe, All Things Nice and a good eating pub: The Blue Bell. Heydon (2 miles) has The Earle Arms, a wonderful and historic village pub that does excellent meals; also in Heydon is a very nice tea room with great cake! We are 4 miles from Blickling Hall (National Trust).

Norfolk abounds with country houses, quaint villages and historic churches, as well as many other attractions such as steam and military museums, seal trips, golf courses etc – a perfect place for a relaxing holiday (even if you don’t like fishing). At one time three churches stood in the churchyard at Reepham. The great fire in 1543 virtually destroyed one, with only a fragment remaining. St Mary’s is now the single parish church and stands back to back with St Michael’s, although consecrated, is mainly used as a community building. St Mary’s church is usually open to visitors and the interior was extensively restored in the 19th century. A few medieval treasures have survived including a Norman font, a superb altar tomb and some lovely stained glass. A local myth tells that three sisters were responsible for the building of the 3 churches in Reepham – one for each of them! This myth led to the design of the town sign which shows a group of three churches, villagers, farm labourers, sheep, lambs and the sisters themselves! You will find the town sign in front of the church. On the outskirts of Reepham you will find the old railway station. The rails have long gone, but the route is now a 21 mile long footpath and bridleway called the Marriott’s Way, between Hellesdon and Aylsham. The route is named after William Marriott, who was the chief engineer of the Midland and Great Northern Railway for 41 years. Reepham Station is now a tea rooms.
