  • This is an amazing place--central location and loaded with amenities, and very responsive hosts. Everything a visitor would need. The building staff also were helpful. Can't beat it--amenities and a fair price.

  • Location is everything in New Orleans and this was the perfect spot for anything you wanted to do. Clean apartment with every basic item needed , would absolutely stay here again ..

    Dedrick2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately during our stay the pool was under maintenance, however that being said I would recommend this Airbnb as the location was great and the apartment was an ideal size to escape the summer humidity.

    Kate2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint spot conveniently located in downtown New Orleans. Conveniently located by the Super Dome but a nice hike to the Convention Center. The condo has beautiful views of the city and provides luxurious amenities for the weary traveller.

  • We had an excellent time at Krystal & Mandy Mays listing - fantastic location; highly recommend!

    Emma2018-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Krystal & Mandy May's place. The apartment was VERY clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Check-in was incredibly easy. Krystal & Mandy May worked with us as our flight did not leave until 7pm the day that we checked out. They were able to hold our luggage for us in the apartment which was super nice so that we could enjoy our last day in New Orleans. They are VERY responsive. There was a light bulb out in the bedroom and they contacted maintenance ASAP. We will definitely return in the future! :)

  • Matthew's place was lovely. Clean and comfortable. Matthew was a wonderful host.

    Claire2016-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The experience was everything we had hoped for. Matt is an extremely nice guy who takes great care of his space and his renters. The space is very clean, comfortable, and perfect for a short stay. 5 stars across the board.

    Josh2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Matthew's apartment! Extremely clean and well-taken care of. Everything you need for your stay is there, plus extras we weren't expecting. The host family is very helpful and polite. Quiet location, but close enough for a quick ride to the action of NOLA. It made our trip perfect!

    Jessica2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this place is perfection, especially if you rent a car which we found completely worth it! We only paid for parking one time during our entire stay. The studio has everything you could possibly need to have a comfortable stay and if you have any questions at all the hosts are more than happy to help and answer super fast! The only thing to note is that their isn't an actual bathroom door, it's more of a little shutter door and has no lock and you can hear everything. Super small detail, but this place is so great and we had an amazing stay!

    Kasie2019-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful. Matt and Katherine are expert hosts. The guest house looks like a nice hotel room (comfy bed, high-end finishes, cool New Orleans themed art), and it has all the comforts of home (Roku, coffee maker, full kitchen/fridge, plates, and a washer/dryer). Matt and Katherine also added some thoughtful finishing touches like leaving us with a couple local beers, local snacks, chicory coffee, and a list of things to do in the neighborhood. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and this is the first place I will look at next time I plan a trip to New Orleans.

    Patrick2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. The incredible artwork is from the original owner, grandmother of the current owners. It's like staying in an art gallery. Thoughtful touches everywhere you look. We spent an hour just looking at the art and history on the walls.

    Rob2019-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's studio was perfect for us. Safe neighborhood, convenient location, wonderful kitchen, living area, bathroom and bed, sized for one to two people. I would absolutely book here again.

  • Great place! Our host Brad was outstanding!

  • This was a very clean with lots of amenities. Steps from street car and extremely close to the quarter.

  • This is a spacious place, very clean, and stylish. Good location in more quiet area but easily accessible to rest of city.

    James2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the location, quiet enough to allow my 2 year old to nap and reset after a day of sightseeing but also close enough to the french quarter action to be able to walk. We used the St. Charles street car to get to the Garden District which is literally right outside the front door. The few times we called uber , we had a car outside the condo in less than 5 mins. Very Central! My husband was attending a conference at the hyatt and he was able to easily walk. The master bedroom has a very large walk-in closet which we were able to use for my little ones "bedroom" We travel with a portable crib and this worked perfect! Would stay here again on our next trip to New Orleans.

  • Good value, open space, fun location. Could be cleaner.

    Lori2018-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location. Close to everything. I love this condo. Very comfortable.

    Jim2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my girls absolutely loved this apartment! It was even bigger and prettier in person than in the pictures. Very nice bathrooms which we really enjoyed. It was in walking distance to many places, but just a little far if you're looking to go to the nightlife in heels. I would definitely stay here again. It comfortably slept 8 of us.

    Sarah2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This condo was amazing! So roomy and perfect for multiple travelers. Brad was super communicative and friendly before check-in and we had no issues during our stay. Would definitely book again in the future!

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire. Additional bedroom is available for groups traveling together or families traveling with children. Please discuss your group's needs with the host. New Orleans license number is 17STR-06526.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house just off the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iron, music player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. A second bedroom is available for groups, so the space can be made to accommodate 1-4 people. We welcome special requests and will make every effort to assist with needed recommendations. We can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your childen. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • Cute 2 bedroom space! Had everything we needed- coffee, shampoo, bottled waters, even a few beers! Very convenient to everything! Erin was quick to respond and super easy to deal with! Easy to get in house. Everything went very smooth!

    Kelly2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend to anyone

    Byron2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a good experience here. We had never been to New Orleans before, and Erin made our lives much easier. Room is clean and beautiful. Great location.

    Alyssa2014-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I really enjoyed staying here. The room was perfect for us, and we enjoyed ourselves.

    Patrick2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Erin was an excellent host who set up the room with real style. She left us with a 'survival handbook' that explained the local area, where best to eat and so on. The room was lovely and Erin was very approachable, always happy to help us out. I'd recommend this place to anybody who wants to visit New Orleans and escape the touristy craziness in the quarter.

    Katie2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Erin was very welcoming and was in constant contact with us. Our flights caused us to arrive a day late, but she was there to greet us the next morning. The room is exactly as shown and she includes a small refrigerator, TV, treats, a few beers and juices. Very well outfitted and comfortable. The bed is very comfortable with soft bedding. The shower is great – lots of hot water. She was also accommodating when I asked for a tour of the rest of the house. Her home is just a couple of blocks from the Streetcar (Canal Line) – very convenient. We never felt unsafe, and used the streetcars extensively. A great deal at $3/day/person. It’s valid on all streetcars and the buses too. This was our first exposure to AirBnB, and I won’t hesitate to use them again. In fact, we’re off to Memphis, where we’ll try our 2nd AirBnB place.

    Lisa2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a little smaller than expected but had a great time!

    Landi2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience! Erin's home is more than perfect and the hospitality was priceless. The room included notes on restaurants and local attractions as well as local items to make us feel right at home. Couldn't of asked for a better home away from home spot. We recommend the space and can't wait to visit again soon!

This is a true New Orleans cottage, charming and comfortable.
We are on a gorgeous street, very close to the French Quarter.

    Luiz2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Even with a small hiccup during our check-in, Katharine remained positive and super helpful throughout our trip. She was an amazing host, the space was as beautiful as advertised, and we had a phenomenal time.

    James2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean and comfortable. It is close to most New Orleans attractions.

    Joe2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a great way to get a real feel of Southern hospitality! We had come quite a distance (from London) to experience the charms of New Orleans and were not disappointed. The cottage is in a good location, quiet and peaceful and there are buses to the French quarter. Kathy was generous and welcoming and always at hand to address any issues that came up. The pantry was always stocked and I loved the fact that towels were regularly replenished. Charming city, charming host, lovely home!

    Paroma2015-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy was amazing! She made herself very available and answered any and all questions we had during our stay. The house was ADORABLE, clean and in a super cute and safe neighborhood. Such a great value!

  • One word: AMAZING! The house was just as beautiful in the pictures if not more. Fernando made sure my check in was a breeze and everything had instructions once I got inside. Beautiful bathroom, beautiful floor plan, great neighborhood, amazing location, just all around amazing. If you're looking for rest, relaxation and still have some fun, this is the place to book. Great price for an amazing place! I will be booking with Fernando from now on when I visit the city.

    Ebonee2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nice space in a quiet section of town. A 5-10 minute drive from the french quarter. 3 beds in the same space, plus a clean bathroom. Close to a Whole Foods. Thanks Fernando!

    Dalton2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place away from the hussle and bussle of Bourbon St but close enough to everything. Ubers were less than 10 dollars. The neighbors were incredible friendly!

    Sara2018-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fernando was very easy to communicate with and accommodated last minute changes very well. He lives next door and is a great host, really nice guy! The space was very clean and we liked the area. Note that although it sleeps quite a few people, there isn't much living space so it feels kind of like a hotel room. Great value, I would recommend this listing!

    Andrea2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • very clean and stylish studio made our trip really comfortable, Fernandez is very nice and helpful

    Mina2018-12-12T00:00:00Z

  • Great place at a good price.

    Jerry2019-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location if you'd like to be in a quiet, residential neighborhood (Tremé) that's a quick bus ride to the French Quarter. Also a short walk to Whole Foods and the Canal streetcar. Perfect size for three couples -- or three people who'd each like their own comfy, queen-sized bed. Kitchenette. Great bathroom.

One of a kind house overlooking Bourbon Street and Orleans Avenue, across from the Bourbon Orleans Hotel and Tropical Isle. This overlooks Bourbon Street in the exact center intersection of the French Quarter. We are one of the few short-term rentals legally licensed by the City of New Orleans to operate in the French Quarter.
This is an upstairs unit with a corner Bourbon Street balcony in the middle of one of the most iconic locations in the city.
This is a unique place and you will be living in the very center of the French Quarter. I love our neighborhood because of its uniqueness, diversity, and liveliness. It is so rich with history and recognizable around the world as " New Orleans". Whether it's 3 o'clock in afternoon or 3 o'clock in the morning, there is always something going on in the French Quarter.
  • Super fun spot deep in the throes of Bourbon Street mayhem. Great people watching from the balcony. The condo is very clean (i have high standards) and well dressed. If you’re looking for a quiet night in this is not the spot for you. But if you are into the Bourbon St scene this spot is special and very cool. Really enjoyed our stay.

    Felicia2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Andres place was outstanding! It was perfectly located right next to Bourbon street staples like Cats Meow. The location of this air bnb was awesome, we hung out on the balcony until we were truly ready to go out to the streets of Bourbon, so we really only needed to buy a drink or two instead of staying more outside the city and rushing in to see everything. While it was a little loud, it’s as expected staying right on Bourbon, Andres does provide ear plugs though. Andres also provided helpful photos to be able to find the spot.

    Becky2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place

    Chris2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Centrally located. 10/10 would recommend!

    Linda2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you want the "full" Bourbon Street experience, this is the place! A hidden gem for sure! The pictures don't do it justice -- it may look small, but the space is surprisingly comfortable. And we had some large 6-foot-plus guys sharing the room...if that tells you how large the room actually is. The balcony overlooking Bourbon makes for perfect people watching. And the location is supreme -- it's only a couple minute walk to Jackson Square (Cafe du Monde, etc), or a couple minute walk to Canal Street at the other end. Getting an Uber wasn't difficult, but because you are on Bourbon you may have to walk a couple blocks up to meet them. Be guaranteed that this is the "full" experience as stated above -- if you want a nice quiet evening and go to bed at 9 p.m. this probably isn't the place for you. (However, if you did want an early bed time the host provides complimentary ear plugs ha!) The host was super friendly and answered every single of my questions in a super fast manner -- and even reminded me during my stay that checkout time was at 10 a.m. (Which I had truthfully forgotten!) The fact that he was so communicative impressed me because of this prime location, I'm sure he's managing many reservations at one time and having to answer countless questions at any given time. Do not pass this place up! It's a must!

    Jordan2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Very clean & the beds are very comfortable. Would highly recommend if you want to experience Bourbon Street. The ear plugs provided worked like a charm 😃

  • This apartment location is amazing! Close to everything you need and very safe. Loved staying here. Price is great for being on bourbon as well.

    Rachel2018-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is prime New Orleans real estate. It’s in the middle of everything. We had a great time. A little loud at night but it’s Bourbon St. and ear plugs are provided. Would recommend.

  • Great place, in a quiet neighborhood, about 5-10 minute drive from bourbon street and French Quarter. The house was well kept and secure. There were other who were renting out the other room and we had to share the bathroom with other guest but it was perfect for what we needed it for! Highly recommend if you need a place to crash while discovering NOLA!

  • If you're planning a trip to New Orleans this is a great place to stay. Gracious host, beautiful home and plenty of parking. Best Bang for your buck!

    Jene2018-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Hollis' place was a cute and clean place to stay. It was far enough away from the loudness of the city but not too far an Uber ride. I didn't get the chance to meet him due to my short stay but he provided everything you would need for a basic stay. He has two other rooms that he rents out so I was able to meet other guests which I enjoyed but if different guests checking in and out isn't your thing I would consider a different location. No complaints here!

    Ray2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was nicely decorated and clean, with easy access to bus routes into town. Hollis also gives lifts so it's easy to get about. We stayed for 4 nights and were out most days, but he was friendly and welcoming and always just a text or phone call away. You get a key so it's easy to come / go. Thanks!

    Katie2015-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful! Close to the city and all the attraction! Hollis was gracious and expert of all things NOLA! Definitely would stay again.

  • Hollis's place was perfect for a night in NOLA. The space was clean and cozy.

Half double conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood in the Gentilly area. Only 3 miles from the French Quarter, Superdome, and downtown New Orleans.
Newly built home (June 2016) with two private bedrooms and two private bathrooms. Outdoor deck and grill in back. With private driveway for off-street parking.
The neighborhood is very quiet and conveniently located only 2 miles from Bourbon Street, 3 miles from the Superdome, and centrally located to pretty much any other area of the city.
  • Our first Airbnb! Spacious, clean, modern home. Donnell let us check in early due to our flight arriving earlier than originally scheduled. Close to bus line that goes directly to the French Quarter! Donnell responded quickly to our requests about the air conditioning because we were always freezing. Quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our time here.

    Michelle2019-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with an Airbnb and it was a great one. My friends and I were truly comfortable and very pleased with Donnell and his place. He was very helpful with his recommendations towards restaurants, shopping, etc. The house was very clean and in order. Very close to all activities. We would definitely recommend and rent from Donnell again in the near future.

    Carollynn2019-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful clean home. About a 10min ride to most new orleans attractions. Donnell is always quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed to stay comfortably. Would definitely stay here again on future trips to new orleans !

  • Great place to stay and in a great location. The house was spotless and had everything needed, would definitely book again.

  • Very well-kept place on a quiet street. Uber’s into anywhere you want to go are very cheap and Donnell gave us some suggestions too.

    Brittany2019-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Donnell’s place is very nice and clean! Located in the right spot close to everything in NOLA. We had a great trip!

    Teresa2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean space. Fantastic location—within minutes to everything and yet located in a quite spot for a good night’s rest in preparation for another day of nearby adventure. Donnell answered my questions in a very timely manner and was friendly! We hope to make this trip again with this stay in mind!

The Quisby is a modern upscale hostel in the Lower Garden District. We have ridiculously comfortable beds, free breakfast, blazing fast WiFi throughout for making friends back home jealous, and a bar downstairs for making new friends. We are steps from the WWII Museum, The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the Contemporary Arts Center, and a dozen famous restaurants and bars. The French Quarter is less than one mile away. The St. Charles Ave Streetcar stops 100 feet from our front door.
We are a bunch of misfits and lovable trouble makers. Some of us have always called New Orleans home. Others came for a few days and never left. What we share in common is a mission to create a new kind of hostel in New Orleans. Every space is designed with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. We believe anyone that makes it to New Orleans in their lifetime is lucky and we're here help you make the most of that good fortune.
We are located conveniently between the Warehouse/Arts District, with three world class museums at our doorstep, and the famed Lower Garden District, full of New Orleans architectural splendor for you to explore. We're also a short stroll from plenty of bars and restaurants ranging from New Orleans establishments to neighborhood gems.

We are the cure for the common hotel / hostel - City House Hostel New Orleans! Check out the bands and bars of Bourbon Street & French Quarter (2 blocks away!), an easy stroll to Jackson Square (4 blocks), beignets at Cafe du Monde, see the Mardi Gras parades on Canal Street (1 block!) - all of it just steps from our front door! Want to ride the street car line to see the historical architecture? Want to know where the best po boys are or go see alligators? We got you covered there as well!
This listing is for one bed in a 12 person mixed gender dorm room. This means there are a total of 6 bunk beds and this reservation is for one bed! We have 3 rooms of this type. Come on and bring a party! (Just remember to make enough reservations for each member of your party!) All rooms have heat and air conditioning. We provide pillows, blankets, fitted sheets, and towels for FREE But we are sooooooooo much more than that! We have a massive brand new kitchen with 70 feet of marble counter tops to use, two stoves, three refrigerators, and the utensils you'll need to make a meal! You'll have access to a huge 72" TV, game systems, huge comfy sofas to curl up on, foosball tables, beer pong tables, and loungey spots all around to have a coffee, write the next great novel, or just stare off into space! Are we done yet? HECK NO! We ALSO offer our Digital Nomad space for those who are working their way across America. A separate space with plenty of plugs, usb charging stations, group huddle tables, and work space a plenty so you can get you grind on while on the move! CO-ED AND SHARED: Don't forget - we are (an amazing) hostel! That means *all* rooms are coed and mixed gender (unless you book a private room). We do *not* offer any single sex or gender separate rooms, sorry :( Bathrooms are single use and private just like you would find in your own home though - so plenty of privacy there! We have a total of 14 showers, 14 toilets, 8 sinks, and 72 square feet of mirrors for all of your bathing, preening, and other needs! We have laundry available (paid).
You literally can't find a better place to be to explore New Orleans and the French Quarter. At City House Hostel New Orleans you are one block from the parade routes and two blocks from Bourbon Street! Those two blocks, by the way, are AWESOME! Now you are super close to all the action, without the noise! So now when it is finally time to sleep (because, come on...at some point you're going to have to sleep!) you'll actually get a good night's sleep! In the French Quarter where we are located you will find all of the music, bands, bars, restaurants, and town plazas that has made New Orleans and the French Quarter famous for so long! Take an easy stroll to Jackson Square, have beignets at Cafe du Monde, check out Mardi Gras parades on Canal Street - all of it just steps from our front door!
  • Excelente hospedagem e atendimento, além das atividades noturnas na cidade

  • So this was my first solo trip and my first stay in a hostel and I am glad, I found this place randomly, out of the blue! Everything was great from staff to people who were staying there! This experience will now make me try 'hostels' wherever I go. If you are solo, I definitely recommend this place and even if you are in a group still I highly recommend!

  • City House Hostel was awesome! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and the place was clean, plus they added nice touches like providing towels, coffee, and nightly activities for the guests. The location is walking distance to a bunch of cool spots in the French Quarter too. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would definitely recommend it!

    Becca2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The space was cute and artistic and the staff and other guests were friendly. I was traveling alone so the group events each night were a great way to get to know the city while also feeling more safe and secure going out in a group. The only downside was that the wifi was pretty spotty.

    Chelsea2019-07-19T00:00:00Z

  • Mac's place is quaint, cute and charming with a spirit of its own! We really loved the flat and neighborhood, which has so many sweet houses and wonderful businesses and cafes/restaurants around. The location is nearby the trolley, which is also very helpful. We experienced some complications because of a lack of notification of significant changes to the listing since the time of our booking, but it worked out alright in the end. We loved the historical house in general, yet sound carried very easily there, so it might present an issue for light sleepers. Overall a very cozy and homey place! Mac was a responsive and helpful host and we really enjoyed our time in New Orleans!

    Emily2018-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A walk away from a number of wonderful uptown snacks, wine bars, coffee and shopping. Also very close to Audubon Park and surrounded by beautiful plant life and architecture. Super quaint and comfortable.

  • Mac lives in a nice, quiet neighborhood, and the drive to downtown New Orleans wasn’t bad at all. The space was really neat and clean. The shower gets really hot (loved) and stays hot for quite a while.

  • Location was pleasant, neighborhood was active during the day and quiet at night. Walking distance to plenty of great food and the trolley stop. The house itself is neat and well-kept with plenty of charm but also modern renovations. One bed and a pull out sofa but it worked perfectly for a single couple. Only a minute’s walk from 925 Burdette which is an artifact of New Orleans history in itself!

    Lindsay2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • The duplex was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Mac was very quick at responding to our emails and had everything ready when we arrived!!

  • This is a great place. It is very nicely decorated. it has a nice front porch and a beautiful little back court yard with plenty of seating for friends to hang out. It has a full kitchen. We were only there for a short time but it is definitely a place to sit a spell and share drinks with friends or a significant other. Our host was prompt with all the information we needed to get in. The water pressure in the shower was great. We had a great time.

    Jessica2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Prime location for a low price is what is offered and what Mac provides.

    Brian2018-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mac responds very quickly to any questions you may have about your reservation. The cottage is located close to all kinds of businesses. The trolley is close and you can ride it all day for just $3. Easy to get to the French Quarter, Garden District and Cemeteries. The cottage is well appointed and very homey.

Walking distance to all the attractions in the French Quarter and right in the middle of all the Marigny/Bywater action! We have two beautiful and cozy bedrooms available in the upstairs of our home. There is a Jack & Jill bathroom upstairs with a private balcony overlooking the rooftops of the neighborhood and courtyard. You would not be sharing the additional room or bathroom with other guests when you reserve the two bedrooms are part of the whole listing. It is a perfect accommodation for parties of 3 or 4 people. Its almost like having a little private get away upstairs just for you. There is also access to our outdoor courtyard which is a sunny and serene spot to enjoy after a long day of sight-seeing. Guests have access to our kitchen and living room. Also courtyard access for relaxing outdoors. We love to make our guests feel at home and give them the space they need to go about their trip however they choose. We are happy to answer any questions about New Orleans! The Marigny is an eclectic and bohemian musicians and artists community just outside the French Quarter. This is a safe and walkable neighborhood with lots of unusual bars, thrift stores, music, dining, and coffee shops in the area that the locals enjoy. Also close to Frenchman Street which is the best street for enjoying the local jazz scene of New Orleans as well as St. Claude Ave which is an up and coming street with art galleries/bars and vaudeville/circus nexus of the city. New Orleans is a walkable city and we also have the Street Car service which runs from Canal Street to Uptown/Garden District from the Quarter.
We live in the Musician and Artists neighborhood of New Orleans. Bohemia at its finest!
  • The hosts live on the premises, and they are very responsive. Okay they have good tips good places to get a real New Orleans experience. They are artists, so the space is very authentic-looking.

  • Nick and Lindsay were very friendly and accommodating. The house was adorable and full of great art. The neighborhood was cute and I felt safe walking at all hours. I didn't spend much time at the house because I was in town for a conference, but it was a really comfortable space and the kitchen would be awesome for cooking.

    Molly2014-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, close to everything, well kept house!

    Jane2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was the third or fourth time that we've stayed here (won't be the last!) and it never disappoints. The space is exactly as described and things are laid back and comfortable. Nick and Lindsay have been great hosts every time and I definitely recommend staying at their place.

    Aimee2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I loved their home! Their spot is super clean and has some dope decor. The location was about a 15-30min walk to the French quarter, which helped us save on Lyft rides. It also helped since my friend and I ate and drank so much out there lol it was our way of “walking it off.” We felt safe walking around in the neighborhood as well. Bring comfortable walking shoes!

    Kate2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. They were very gracious, hospitable and full of excellent recommendations. We loved the house and the room: a wonderful place to stay. And the neighborhood (Marigny/Bywater) is the place to be in New Orleans. We would definitely return.

    Tom2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay are awesome host! They were so friendly and offered great restaurant tips. Their space is clean and beautiful, and they provided us with anything we could have needed.

    Amber2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The ambiance of this home is a microcosm of New Orleans; a bit funky and friendly. Nick and Lindsay are easy going in allowing guests the use of the house, i.e., kitchen, TV, washer/dryer. Bedrooms are comfortable with outdoor access and shared bath. Very convenient with car, ample on street parking plus great restaurants within walking distance.

Semi-private room* in a cute and cozy shotgun house in the Marigny. 15 minute walk to the French Quarter, 12 minutes to Frenchmen St., 2 minutes to the Bywater. Located around the corner from a few restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and grocery store. *Note, this room is yours and yours alone, but people have to walk through it to get to their room.
The house is a classic shotgun, a very common style of architecture for homes here in New Orleans. Our bedroom is the first room in the house, and we rent the next three rooms to guests (see our profile for links to the other rooms). Each room is arranged one behind the other. You will be walking through all of our bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will need to walk below your loft to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the fourth room in the house, next to the kitchen. It comes furnished with a full size bed, bright lamp for reading, Christmas lights, fresh sheets, clean blankets, pillows, and towels - and it's on a loft! To get up to the bed you will need to climb a ladder up 7 feet to the loft. The height in the loft is around 4 1/2 feet, meaning most people won’t be able to stand, but it’s still fairly easy to get around in for any able-bodied person. Below the loft is a hangout room, where you are more than welcome to hangout and stretch your legs all you want.
Our location is probably our greatest feature. Our house is centrally located in the Marigny. Frenchmen St. jazz and music clubs are only six blocks away, the French Quarter is a ten minute, nine-block walk away in one direction, and the Bywater (neighborhood) is just over the train tracks, two blocks in the other direction. We are one block from Mardi Gras Zone, a 24 hour organic grocery store (now with an alcohol license!), and three blocks from Hank's, a 24 hour convenience store (where you can stock up on alcohol and fried chicken). Flora's Coffee shop is two blocks away. There are eight bars (ranging from fancy cocktail bars to dive bars) within a three block radius.
  • La maison est idéalement située dans le quartier de Marigny. Rapport qualité/prix intéressant. J'ai rencontré Katie brièvement, elle est très polie.

The house is a classic shotgun, a very common style of architecture for homes here in New Orleans. Our bedroom is the first room in the house, and we rent the next three rooms to guests (see our profile for links to the other rooms). Each room is arranged one behind the other. You will be walking through two bedrooms to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, people will have to walk past your room to access the kitchen, other bedrooms, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the third room in the house. It comes furnished with a built in bed, curtain for privacy, XL twin mattress, reading lamp, a chair, vanity with a large mirror, clean sheets, fresh blankets, four pillows, a towel, and a white noise machine to cancel out house noises. The room accommodates one comfortably.
  • Nestled near Frenchmen St., It was convenient to go around fascinating music spots.

  • Katie and Matthijs's home is amazing, they currently live in a "shotgun" house. Staying in one of these houses is a unique experience. Katie and Matthijs are so wonderful, I was travelling solo but I never felt alone! Thank you both so much! I loved the princess bed and the lovely dogs! K&M are so welcoming, so helpful and so much fun.

  • Great time thanks for opening up your house to guests.

  • Loved staying at Katie & Matthijs' house. The room was cute and comfy - Katie made sure I was super warm with extra blankets and a heater. The whole vibe of the house was awesome - I definitely felt welcomed and they were both very easy to chat to. Great location - easy walk to the Bywater/French Quarter and if you need to go further - there is a bus just round the corner. Awesome bars and restaurants and coffee shops within a two minute walk!

  • Such a wonderful weekend getaway into the heart of New Orleans. The best thing about about the stay, other than the wonderful and kind hosts Katie and Matthijs, was by far the location. The house is a lovely shotgun style house with built in lofts, a very comfortable bathroom, and the space is perfect for relaxing or just a place to sleep. Just a one block walk to Mardi Gras Zone (the most representative business of the kookiness of New Orleans in general, in my opinion). Bring a bike, or rent one and you'll have a blast.

    Andrew2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Matthijs are friendly and welcoming. Once we arrived Katie pulled up a map and marked all the nice and interesting places to visit along with important spots like supermarkets and cafes that were close by. The place is not more than a 10 min walk away from the French Quarter and you feel safe even if you walk back home at 1 am.

This house sits on a residential street. There's a private entrance, 9-foot ceilings, off-street parking, wood floors & a porch that you alone have access to. License number: 17STR-03878
This room comes with its own private entrance as well as a private porch overlooking a leafy, residential street in Bywater. A shared bathroom is right next to your bedroom. The space combines traditional New Orleans architecture (transoms, large windows, wood floors) with modern amenities (walk-in closets, wi-fi, central air and heat).
The house is located in Bywater, three blocks from Crescent Park on the Mississippi River, which has views of the city, running trails, a dog park and more. There are a bunch of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and shops a stone's throw away.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Missy & Bryan’s. They were great to talk with, and gave us good tips on travel in the city. The room was very comfortable, plus the wifi, and the fact that we were able to park in Missy & Bryan's driveway, were great amenities for our stay. It was a short walk through the Bywater neighborhood past brightly painted houses to Elizabeth's for brunch. The Music Box Village was also not far, and an amazing place to visit.

    Heather2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Missy and Bryan's place. The neighborhood was great and we had so much fun walking and biking to local coffee shops, restaurants, bars and to the French Quarter to hear music. Missy was so responsive any time we had a question and that was a great relief. The Bywater area has a special vibe, and their place reflects this. It's not about fancy hotel amenities but having what you need. We were happy to have no t.v. and the bathroom was right next to the room and easy to access. Yes, the bed is a double (not a queen/king) but we were comfortable and slept well in it. The room was very spacious and we were able to spread out. We felt very relaxed and comfortable the entire time we were there.

    Tanya2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate. The location was great. And the hosts were great! We arrived and they were in band practice playing music and we sat with them and had some drinks and then they guided us to local places for food and drink! It was wonderful!

    Elizabeth2015-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Missy and Bryan were both really sweet and friendly. They didn't seem to mind that my trip took place during their work week and were very helpful in helping me consider factors such as whether to walk, bike or drive to my destinations. The house is a great space in a great location and perfectly clean and comfortable--I would definitely recommend staying with them.

    Ada2014-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was ideal. Location was quiet but not too far from the highlights of the city and a few local restaurants were close enough to walk over to. Very safe neighborhood and friendly hosts. I recommend this spot especially if you love cats. Their kitties will want to hang out in the room with you. The room is clean, bright, and cozy. Shared bathroom was a snap and Missy and Bryan were really cool. Highly recommend staying there!

    Kelly2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Missy and Bryan were wonderful hosts! The room was clean, comfortable, and pretty, and I loved the porch for morning and evening reading. Our hosts had excellent suggestions for things to do in the neighborhood, and our experience felt very personalized and local, rather than touristy and artificial. The bikes are a GREAT plus, as a lot of things we chose to do were within biking distance: the French Quarter was only about a 10 minute bike ride away, most restaurants and our favorite coffee spot were only a few blocks away, and even the aquarium only took about 15 minutes to get to by bicycle. It was a lot of fun, and I think a lot of that has to do with our experience in Bywater and the friendliness and recommendations of Missy and Bryan.

Cozy room less than a half mile to beautiful city park 2.5 miles to downtown. Groceries & shopping options just a few blocks away. Queen sized bed, shared kitchen and bathroom, street parking, Wi-Fi.
    Smoking allowed outside.
Built cira 1983, this neighborhood is a block long of townhouses. This quaint neighborhood is full of flavor, character, friendly neighbors, & easy access to many conveniences. Being right in-between the river, lake & near city park this location offers a great opportunity to explore an array of options of hidden jems often over looked by many who limit their selves to the usual tourist hots spots of the French Quarter, Bywater, or uptown area. Regarding safety, crime maps & statistics show this is area to significantly less crime activity as the French Quarter,Bywater, & Uptown areas. All except for a few occasional neighborhood holiday parties, this is one of the quietest neighborhoods around & I have never had any problems.
  • What you can expect at Jonathan‘s place is a very lovely and quiet setting. A short distance from Bourbon Street in the French quarter but Lyft is very reasonable and the bus is great three dollars per day for a 24 hr day pass. If you have any strange request as I had Jonathan was very accommodating to allow me to place some coolers that I was purchasing food to take back within his home. All in all a very nice place to stay and enjoy New Orleans festivities.

    Glen2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan was a great host! He had great recommendations for things to do around town and was friendly and fun to chat with. Room was very clean and nice. Location was great, right next to City Park and very close to everything else in the city. Would definitely recommend staying with Jonathan.

    Will2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is quiet with a good bus connection to town, although having a car might come in handy as it's bit further away from downtown. The house itself is somewhat eccentric, which might not suit everyone's taste. Our room downstairs was clean and nice enough, but there were some bugs in the upstairs shower. Jonathan himself is a sweet and welcoming host who'll give you plenty of tips what to see & do in New Orleans. We had some trouble communicating with him before our arrival as we requested a change in our check in dates but couldn't reach him for two days. This was a bit unfortunate, but didn't affect our stay in the end.

    Tenzin Namgyal2018-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan certainly made us feel welcome in his eclectic, interesting space. My concerns were the smell (perhaps from the very cute pair of finches in the living room) and that the bed had a sand-like substance (similar to that on the floor) that made it questionable as to if the sheets had been changed recently. Certainly a great deal and super location!

    Gracelee2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time at Jonathan's place during jazzfest. Jonathan is very friendly and helpful on giving recommendations and directions. It's walkable to the jazzfest and public transportation is right across the street. To enjoy a full local NOLA experience, Jonathan's place is the way to go. Thank you Jonathan for everything

In the Treme, close to Esplanade Ave, Frenchmen St, the Quarter, the River Walk, City Park and the Fair Grounds. Not far from the Canal Streetcar, Marigny, Bywater or Downtown. A clean private room with private entrance. Free off street parking.
This is a second story apartment in the back of our residence, with a private gated entrance. The room is at least as big as your average hotel room and way more charming. As a seperate part of a wonderfully restored old style New Orleans home you'll appreciate the original hardwood floors and the windows that gaze out over the Treme neighborhood. We are a five minute walk to historic and beautiful Esplanade Ave. Go left and Esplanade will end at the Mississippi river right between Frenchmen St and the French Quarter. Go right and it will lead you directly to the Canal Street Car and City Park, which is quite large and beautiful and home to many attractions including the New Orleans Museum of Art. We are especially close the the Fair Grounds where Jazz Fest is held. And for Mardi Gras we are a short ten minute walk to the Claiborne overpass where the Mardi Gras indians do their thing! There is also a coffee shop within walking distance. Internet, central air and heat, free off street parking, Coffee pot, Mini refrigerator/ freezer, Microwave. Queen size bed, and European style bathtub with a handheld shower head. The following are close & easy to find! 1 mile from the French quarter, City Park, and the Race Track (Jazz Fest). Our home is also close to downtown, the Marigny, and the Bywater. European style bathtub w handheld shower head We live downstairs, just message me if you need anything. • Mariellen is excellent at responding quickly to any questions you may have and the room was very clean. Location is great for a quick Uber to FQ. The only drawback is that although the rental room is private and separated from the main part of the house, normal noises from her part of the house can easily be heard and I found myself having to constantly be making an effort to be mindful of keeping quiet as to not disturb her family. Not a huge problem if you’re just looking for an affordable place to sleep while exploring the city, but if you’re looking for a more private room it’s something to consider. Other than that, our stay was perfect!

  • We loved coming to NOLA! Fell in love with it since day one. The room was just as described. 10 minute car ride to where all the action is. We were there to sleep and shower. Definitely coming back and would stay here if available.

  • Had a great stay for 7 nights. Mariellen was very helpful and great communication. The rooms really clean and Mariellen had cereal, milk, coffee and water for us. Great location close to French Quarter and food and a small supermarket close by

  • Mariellen and her husband were wonderful hosts! This was the first time my friends and i went to New Orleans and this was the perfect place to stay. It was a quiet, safe house and close to all of the places we wanted to go to. Mariellen accommodated our late arrival, communicated with me very quickly throughout our drive there and while we were there which was really nice. When we arrived her husband moved his car and let us park in the driveway which was really kind, he then showed us the private room and gave us our key. We asked for recommendations on where to go and he gave us plenty. There were extra sheets, coffee pot and waters set out, as well as a book shelf which was really nice for us because we all love reading and it stood out in the room. If we had any questions or needs we knew that we were able to ask them. Clean space, great hosts, awesome communication. 10/10 would stay again.

  • The room / studio was like described, friendly, convenient and relatively clean. The owner and her husband ar quite friendly, but we had just a minimum of contacts. The only exhausting thing was the way to downtown (French Quarter), because the bus goes only every 30-40 minutes and the scecule plan is not clear. But we felt like locals, we always was the only tourists (and the only white skinnex people) in the bus ;-)

My downstairs home is walking distance to Jazz and Voo doo Fest, 4 blocks from the public street car system (5 mins from downtown, 3$ day passes), and a 2$ direct bus trip from the airport (30-50 mins). This 9'x14.5' private bedroom has a queen size bed and private closet. This Bedroom also has a personal lock if you so chose. There will be a maid service once a week to keep things clean, but sheets and towels are changed between guests.
My spare bedroom of my 2bd1b is perfect for a business traveler or a couple not looking to pay a fortune for a trip to New Orleans. It is 4 blocks from the street car and I am centrally located in a quite neighborhood (mid-city). I am also located on the bus route from the airport. 2$ direct route.
Neighborhood is safe with many bars and restaurants that are within walking distance. Recommendations are in the resource binder.

  • Eric's Place is truly a gem in the beautiful city of New Orleans. I was able to book extremely quickly last minute for an interview I had in New Orleans. The room was exactly as expected and there was nice mardi gras decorations as well. He was very prompt with response and made my stay 10x better. He is also extremely smart guy, he is currently working on his 2nd Doctorate degree and had a wealth of knowledge about everything. His knowledge also extended to the city of New Orleans and he gave me great tips for getting around the city. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!

  • Lovely hosts but not a great experience. Had everything you could need but the location in a gritty seedy area was a complete. I would not stay here again.

  • ABSOLUTELY LOVED MY STAY! Mrs. Genene was the sweetest lady I’ve stayed with! So open and so friendly! So welcoming.. the home was clean, exactly as advertised, it was so cute too. Everything I didn’t have was there and I appreciate her welcoming us into her home! Thank you so much.

    Asia2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very clean, comfortable with loads of amenities-breakfast and toiletries. Genene was very responsive and friendly. I think it was my fault for not realizing the location was further out than I expected. Everything else was perfect. Genene makes you feel right at home.

  • wonderful place to stay in Nola. I recommend gladly.

  • Genene is an awesome host and knows the area and is happy to share what she knows with you all you have to do is ask. My wife and I would be very happy to stay again with Genene

    James2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Genene's place is right off the interstate and easy to find. She has everything set up perfectly and has really made an effort to accommodate for everything, down to the cling-wrap and bug spray. I will definitely be back!

Stay with us in the famous Musician's Village! This is a quiet neighborhood in the 9th Ward, just 10 minutes drive to the French Quarter, and right down the street from Bywater, where you can find all kinds of adventures. We are musicians, and we work all the time, so you will have plenty of privacy! Our friend Amber will be there with her dog to greet you! Sarah works out of town and is usually away.
This is a neighborhood built after hurricane Katrina strictly for musicians. All of our neighbors are full time musicians. Please keep in mind that we do live here. This is a shared space! You will have your own private room, but you will be sharing our home with us. We work late often, so we get home well past midnight sometimes. We have friends over, rehearsals for shows, etc. that being said, we love for our guests to use the kitchen and all other amenities.
I love my neighborhood because it is close to the downtown area, yet not overrun by gentrification yet. It is a very mixed neighborhood with lot's of blue collar workers, musicians, artists and characters. Its always best to have a car in New Orleans, because public transportation is not very good.
  • Excelente local para se hospedar. Você se sente como um morador de NOLA. Os anfitriões são muito detalhistas e fazem de tudo para te deixar a vontade.

  • This was great! Sarah and Nathan were perfect hosts, and the house is really comfortable and cute.

    Nate2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Say yes to this relatively new Airbnb! We didn't get to meet Nathan as he was off touring with a band and being awesome, but we did spend some time with Sarah! This lady bakes delicious banana bread while listening to the jazz that New Orleans is famous for. Her recommendations around town were fabulous (especially breakfast at Elizabeth's), and the two bikes in the backyard helped us make a trip across the tracks for local Chinese cravings (Red Apple, but if I could do it again, I'd just get Red's). If you're not familiar with New Orleans, it's a smelly, lively city of characters. Get to know your uber drivers while you're in the area. They can be a wealth of information as well. Sarah and Nathan's place was perfect for us to experience a part of the city weren't familiar with, and it was plenty close for a quick trip to Bywater, Mid-City, or the FQ. That was our experience, at least. Their pets are friendly and social, like their owners. Sarah even let me borrow an old guitar to pick on since I chose poorly in leaving mine at home!

    Jesse2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nathan and Sarah were wonderful hosts! The house is wonderfully decorated and the eclectic decor and comfortable room made for a great experience. Sarah was very helpful in recommending dining options. We felt very at home and enjoyed our experience there. My favorite part was front porch visits! We would stay there again.

    Rachelle2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nathan and Sarah are great hosts- friendly and considerate! Their pets are very friendly, so if you're a dog person you'll love it haha Everything is clean and tidy, the location is good too, uber works great and you'll be in the French Quarter in 10mins. We didn't get to talk a lot but they're just lovely. Even let us keep our bags a bit longer so we didn't have to carry them around on our last day. Thank you for everything!

    Ana2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a nice person. Our room was good, big enough and cozy. There was fruit and lovely tea in the room. We were invitated to use the whole house.

Our place is private and affordable. We are centrally located just minutes to 5-15 min drive to anywhere in the city. We are exactly 4.8 miles from Bourbon Street/FQ. Our space is a quaint 400 sq ft private guest suite. The extra high ceilings make the space feel more spacious. There is one queen size bed and sofa converts to a full bed also. We have a hand made counter area that adds character to the room and guest also have access to the deck/porch. The guest can also have access to main house kitchen(ask about details).
Our space was recently renovated. Our guests have access to a full bath with a shower. The sofa converts to a full bed. A mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot are available for our guests to use. There is a fenced back yard.
New Orleans is a small city, so most areas in New Orleans proper (Orleans parish) are only a 10 minute drive from downtown/French Quarters. Our neighborhood is a quiet and safe area that's literally a "stone throw" from all of the action. It is a great escape from the busy nightlife of downtown/French Quarter but it is only a 5-10 minute drive to the city's happening spots. For those with children, there's a nice neighborhood park down the street. City park and the walking trail along our beloved Bayou St. John that leads to the Fairgrounds are also walking distance...great for a morning run. We have some amazing locally owned eateries nearby that maintain the traditions of New Orleans cooking.
  • The place was comfortable and clean, also the location was great. Would definitely recommend staying here :)

  • Was only able to stay at Adrienne’s for one night but it was a perfect place to relax and get a great nights sleep after the adventure we had been on! Great location and neighborhood- cheap, easy Uber drive to Magazine street area. Would have loved to spend more time in the tiny house :)

    Samantha2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, nice neighborhood, great host!!!

    Michelle2018-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • the home was clean and tucked away in a nice neighborhood. it's also close to a busline that can take you to the French Quater quickly!

    Julia2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • It’s about a 10-15 drive from the French Quarter. If you plan to spend most of your time in the French Quarter, then I don’t think you really save if any money because of the costs of renting a car/Uber and parking versus just getting a hotel in the French Quarter. There also aren’t any restaurants in walking distance at all.

    Missdlaw2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely better than I expected. Very clean and affordable, had a great stay!

Come be a guest in my lovely two-room suite, located in my historic Marigny cottage, three blocks from Frenchmen Street and a 15 minute walk to Jackson Square in the French Quarter! Please read all sections of listing prior to booking.
Two rooms, with an arch in between, in my Marigny home: a bedroom with a Queen sized bed, and a sitting area with a daybed set up as a couch, but can sleep a third person (twin mattress. ) The space features hand-stencilled walls and is furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage furniture, art and books...and a vintage baby grand piano! There is a small chest of drawers and an Art Nouveau wardrobe in which to store your clothing and other items. Amenities include fast wireless internet and a new 24" television with a Roku and cable. There is a latch to lock yourself in from the rest of the house. I am sorry, but there is no kitchen use with the rental of this suite. However, in your suite there is a mini fridge, a coffeemaker and an electric kettle along with an assortment of coffee, tea, sugar, etc. and a some dishes, glasses and flatware. There is a 5-gallon spring water dispenser as well as ice in the nearby dining room, so drink up! The bathroom is 'European Style', meaning it is shared with the rest of the house, which is myself and whomever is staying in the tiny room in the back of the house ( limited to one person.) I have yet to have issues with us all sharing a bathroom; I am invisible, and it's rare you will run into the other guest. It is a short walk through two rooms to the bathroom, which is fitted with a claw-foot tub and a rain shower head. I sanitize the bathroom daily, and there are plenty of towels and toiletries also. There is a latch on the door to lock yourself in. I am extremely scrupulous when it comes to linens; all sheets and towels are white and are bleached and put through the sanitizing cycle of my washer in between guests.
Marigny is a wonderful, eclectic, artsy neighborhood and is the second oldest neighborhood in the city, the French Quarter being the oldest. My home is a 15 minute walk away from Jackson Square in the heart of the Quarter, and is three blocks from Frenchmen Street. Who Dat Cafe and Orange Couch are nearby coffee shops (two and three blocks away, respectively) and there are numerous dining and shopping choices nearby without even having to go to the Quarter, including a Co-Op grocery store and Walgreens.
  • Merry was the perfect hostess, easy checkin and the suite was gorgeous and creatively decorated as was the rest of her home. Wonderful front porch where you can relax with morning coffee [there is a coffeemaker in room]. Roku tv and a library of books to browse just added to the many comforts. Location is an attractive friendly sidestreet close to Frenchmen clubs and night art mart. Way more fun than staying at a hotel. Can't wait to come back.

    Ruth2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with merry was great! Perfect location and great local tips. Would for sure stay again!

  • We had a great time! The house was decorated for Mardi Gras and that gave it a festive touch. The room was as expected and the location was in good proximity to the French quarter (10 minute walk).

    Jason2019-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A friend and I stayed in Gwen's place for 3 nights. We really enjoyed our stay, the house is wonderfully decorated and the room is very spacious and has A/C (which was really good as temperatures were quite high in NOLA). The location is very good (15min from the French Quarter) and safe. Would come back in the future. If you're staying with friends, note that there's no door between the bedroom and the bathroom. However, the room is spacious so you can't see the bathroom if you're in bed, for example.

    Pedro2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • looks nice on the pictures but not in real. there was water on the floor of the bedroom and mold on the wall in the corner. the bathtub was dirty. position of the house is ok - near of popular places

    Anna2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Price is right but take Uber’s late night home. There’s a tub with no over head shower head!! Just a hand hold shower head so it’s quite chilly.

  • Beautiful spot not too far from the French Quarter, very zen and accommodating.

    Lucas2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Gwendolyn was a great host! Very sweet! The location of the house was great (neighborhood was a little sketchy, but I didn’t feel unsafe!) The jets on the tub don’t work in Granny’s room, but the water is warm! The A/C works really well too! Overall, I enjoyed our stay!

The cottage is charming, older-- Not Modern. Beautiful area. City Park, Jazz Fest & Pub. trans. 1 mi. from French Q, wkg dist. to stores, restaurants & bayou. 2 bdrms, 1 bath and a porch. For quiet folks. No parties and sock-feet, please. A pup’s in the yard, so please close the gate. Park between driveways on street, so you're not towed. I am not respon. for the loss of electric power or acts of nature that effect the stay here. No hairdryers. Sorry. If key is lost $50.00 fee. :)
No electric hairdryers sorry to say. They blow the "fuse." There are New Orleans touches including a wonderful front porch. The two bedrooms are on the top floor with the bathroom and the bottom floor has the kitchen and living room with a big sofa. The beds and the sofa are quite comfy. I seek gentle respectful guests. No parties, please. I'm a friendly artistic teacher and entrepreneur. My street and neighborhood are beautiful and convenient to many things--even by foot. Street parking only. There's intentionally no television but there is internet so you can stream!
The neighborhood is one of the best in New Orleans in terms of beauty and locale. You're right in the center of everything--- shaded by oaks. City Park is beautiful and is just blocks away. It houses the New Orleans Museum of Art and the sculpture garden that is one of the best in the country. Walking distance (about 4 blocks) are 5 restaurants-- all reasonably priced on Esplanade Ave. There are also two small family-owned grocery in the vicinity. You can take the trolley (walking distance) from the museum to uptown and pass along St. Charles Avenue with the universities and mansions-- ending up downtown and then can walk around downtown or do a return trip. We are one mile from the French Quarter and Frenchman St. Huber or Lyft is best--especially at night. I recommend the blue bikes for rides if the weather is nice.
  • It was very relaxing..close location to everything canal, bourbon, etc. Nice house will definitely come back

    Crystal2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first air bnb experience, and I must say that it will be a tough act to follow. Before booking Susan's place, I had looked at other places to stay, and her place stood out to me... Not only for value, but for location. This house is what I would consider a "hidden gem." The communication was great, as she was happy to recommend a couple local places to eat (ask her where to get the best pizza, you won't be disappointed.) Her house is very tidy, and I did not feel like i was staying at some else's house. It actually felt like home away from home. For me, the best part overall was the location. We were within walking distance of local stores, cafes, the bus route, and City Park. The neighborhood is great; You can walk around and enjoy what feels like a small town atmosphere, while being within close proximity (about $9 for an Uber) to the French Quarter. I came to New Orleans with 2 friends, and we did not feel crowded. It was spacious enough to accommodate the 3 of us. I would definitely recommend staying here, and I would stay here again.

    Chuck2018-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very nice 2 bedroom private home in a great location. We were several minutes away by cab to the french quarter and loved being able to walk over to the cities botanical gardens and through the neighborhood in the mornings.

    Russell2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a quiet neighborhood. The photos don't do justice to this very open unit.

    Caitlin2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • place is very spacious and accommodating with fresh fruit, muffins, coffee. space is clean and comfortable. Internet connection was not the best. went for new years, so it was nice to stay somewhere quiet at night to go to sleep. Door knobs are kind of tricky to open. nice walk through the neighborhood to go down to the French quarter. uber/lyft rides were only about $7-10 each way; not bad.

    Alaine2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Well okay, I’m trying to be as honest as possible and I definitively won’t overstate. The following review is absolutely just our view of this place and no bad blood at all. First things first: Susan is an outstandingly hospitable person. We kindly asked her if it’s possible to get one day earlier in the cottage, which she accepted (sure not for free - just for the record). She always responded in an acceptable period of time, which I also won’t forget to mention. Now to the cottage itself: Our best advise for everybody who’s interested is, that you should definitely read all the comments and reviews very carefully and view all the uploaded pictures...multiple times!! It indeed is an old fashioned, (kind of) very well worn, old² house/home. To mention a few things: old worn furniture like the couch in the front, which is easily 25+ years old, the (only real) dining table that is as crooked as can be and broken, chair/s are broken (loose seat), the kitchen (utilities) damaged (half broken knife), one mattress in the upper area is so outworn that you’ll feel every bedspring, the shower curtain is sticky, old and greasy, the bathroom itself...well let’s say...has seen way better days. There are old personal pictures, old papers, old socks, old shirts (in the closets), (old) food (which wasn’t necessarily spoiled but absolutely uneatable for us, since we didn’t knew if it’s there for one day or one year) like eggs, burritos, ice cream, definitely really old honey or McDonalds Mayonnaise bags..things we found for the first time using an Airbnb and by any given respect, in our world that’s just grose. For us everything there felt like: the place were you park that stuff you won’t park at your “first home”, but which you won’t throw away just yet. Yes, there’s no tv, which absolutely didn’t bother us. The WiFi is okay - not worldmoving but okay. The parking lot is on the streets, not on the property (also no big deal for us). The direct neighborhood indeed is sleepy and quite, but also I want to mention that it won’t feel like that (at least for us) when walking 2-3 blocks west. We rented the cottage on Memorial Day weekend and in the direct neighborhood (seventh ward, St. Roch) three People were shot and others wounded - sure nothing the host is responsible for, but as I said, I want to be as honest as possible. All in all: we rented and paid for 5 nights and left the place after 2 nights because of all mentioned things. We just didn’t got warm with the big number of things we disliked. I won’t say that the place is absolutely unacceptable or bad, but for us - and we believe for many others - the place won’t be the right choice. What some people would call “cute”, “old fashioned” and “charming southern” we would call “old”, “worn off” and “dirty”. That’s why I want to recall what I said in the beginning: read the reviews and look at the pictures very carefully. I want to make clear, that my review was not meant to be disrespectful by any means and I’m sure that Susan will respond to that review and will show her view of all the things, which is absolutely her right, but our review is just the plain experience WE made with her cottage.

    Tobias2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place was perfect for our stay in New Orleans. Nestled in the heart of Bayou St. John, it offered us a quiet respite from the noise of downtown, which is essentially just around the corner and down the street. The home is lovely....airy and spacious.... and outfitted with everything we needed, including breakfast and coffee. The neighborhood itself is eye-candy and worth an early walk, especially if you end up at Morning Call in City Park. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

    Viki2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place was great! We felt like home, and had a very good time. The neighborhood was really nice, calm and beautiful. There is a bus stop 5min walking from home that take you directly to the French Quarter. Highly recommended!!

  • The Okra Inn is an excellent value in a wonderful part of New Orleans. The hosts are so very kind and helpful and really know the city well. The room was comfy and large, I didn’t hear any of the other guests at all, and the location really is perfect in Mid-City (especially for runners.. the Lafitte Greenway and City Park are super close). Public transit also is excellent - by both street car and bus (I spent only $1.50 just now to get to the airport, after a short walk from the house). Toups Meatery also has maybe the best burger I’ve ever tasted, Piece of Meat is unique and great for brunch/lunch and Parkway for poboys is a necessity. I’d definitely stay at the Okra Inn again!

    Michael2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Okra Inn is a nice get-away that provides everything you need during your stay in New Orleans. Lindsay was helpful in making suggestions for restaurants and things to do. We will definitely stay here again.

A miniature sized room about 2 miles to the French Quarter and 3 to the Superdome- Also you get access to a large shared living room and kitchen and backyard with a HOT TUB its a perfect spot to meet others. Best of all- you're staying at the home of Big Chief Bald Eagle of the Wild Tchoupitoulas Mardi Gras Indians so this is as New Orleans as it gets. All Profits go towards this community! Smart Lock- come and go as you please with code. one block from busses. #18STR-15746
Full size bed in private room with drawers and a tv in a communal home with access to a backyard, bicycles, and a hot tub!
We're in a low income neighborhood so if you walk to the gas station on the other side of the block at night you're going to see some sketchy happenings, but nothing aggressive.
  • The house has a nice communal vibe, but you're also able to do your own thing if you want. Bathroom is fully stocked with toothpaste and shower supplies. You're a 15-minute walk to the St. Roch market where there are tons of amazing food vendors, a 20-minute walk to bars and cafes in the Marigny, and about 30 minutes walking from both Bywater and the Quarter. Best to get a car service home if coming back at night. Overall, a really great spot that is affordable and close to a lot of interesting places in New Orleans.

  • My stay here was SUPER awesome!!! Everything is so close. Very convenient!

    Felix2018-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean had lots of wonderful decor unique not just to New Orleans but to the specific neighborhood where the house is located. I was only there for about six hours of sleep so I can’t provide too much detail yet it was a pleasant stay.

    Colin2019-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to the French Quarter. Burger King and gas station are a short walk away for immediate needs. House was exceptionally furnished and looked fantastic. Beds were clean and comfortable. Amenities were readily available and the house was very secure, including each individual room. Backyard had a nice patio to sit and relax on as well. Recommend staying here as he is a great and responsive host in a fantastic location! ps. Laundry machines were available which were a huge bonus!

Quirky, welcoming & artful private room in a home with 2 roommates (Kaila & Nicole). Perfect for the budget savvy traveler wanting a NOLA experience. Centrally located, less than 10 min drive or a leisurely (& beautiful) 25-30 minute walk to French Quarter. NOTE: If you are not comfortable in a mostly minority and less affluent neighborhood, we are not the room for you. If you are hoping to be steps from the touristy areas, we are not the room for you.
Historic shotgun double renovated to a single family home. Great front and back porches with views of St. Roch Park. Fully furnished home and access to kitchen for home-cooked meals. Art art art galore on our walls! Bathroom shared with 1 roommate, living space shared with 2 roomies and a 9 lb maltese-poodle. The house is always clean but we do live here, so please don't expect perfect order at all times in the living spaces. We clean regularly, but we are not neat-freaks so if you are uncomfortable in a happily lived-in home (yes, the mail and the dishes sometimes pile up in a day), we are not the room for you.
St. Roch is an up and coming neighborhood that is still a true New Orleans experience! It is walking distance (about 10 min) to the trendy St. Claude Arts District & beautiful Marigny neighborhood and an easy bike, car or bus ride to the French Quarter (walkable also, but a little more of a trek--about 25-30 minutes).
  • Espaço super estiloso e com varias dicas locais.

  • If you love quirky, this is the spot for you. The decor was eclectic and funky, the room was very clean, and Nicole and her roommate were very accommodating. I was only there for one night, but it was very comfortable, and Nicole went above and beyond helping me troubleshoot an issue (unrelated to AirBnb). All in all, a super fun experience.

  • Great place. A bit out of downtown but perfect for the price!

  • Nicole's place was one of the cutest homes I have ever seen! There was art all over the walls, almost like a museum itself. Ease and flexibility of check in was great for me, as I didn't have a set schedule. The neighborhood was nice, right next to a park and we even saw some chickens crossing the road! Haha. I never felt unsafe, personally. Everything was a short drive/cheap Uber ride away. She even included a helpful guide with places to check out which we really appreciated. Overall I would recommend this place to the fullest!

  • Nicole was extremely welcoming and had so many great tips for exploring Mew Orleans! My girlfriend and I wish we could have stayed longer!

    James2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really cool and our room was really cosy ! Nicole were really nice with us !

    Adnan2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole was awesome! Thanks for allowing the late check in, the friendly dog welcome, and the quick communication when I started to worry about our arrival time. It felt like going to a friends house for the night. My mind eased once I realized okay this house is someone's home and I want to ensure to treat it as I would my own for these few hours. I would totally send Nicole a thank you basket if that's allowed by Airbnb! I must go look up the terms! Our first Airbnb experience was a great one!

Japanese printed folding screens create a semi-private space in a shared bedroom! --7 Blocks from Frenchmen Street Bars, best nightlife in New Orleans! -10 Blocks from French Market in French Quarter -Hostel-like Shared House. -Very small sleeping space -Free on-street parking. - Keyless Entry - Self Check-in (anytime after 3) - Living Room with Netflix -Low income neighborhood but safe for late night walking to Quarter -Porch -Plus Free Bikes! 17STR-06610
The space is unique so its worth clarifying. The room is only private due to japanese folding screens- and there are four such spaces with bed in one room. With the screens folded closed you have privacy from sight at night but not sound. So basically, semi private room at a shared room price. The space has its own lamp and a fan, and the room and lounge area have separate ac units. The bathroom and closet is shared and so is the front room so although we keep it clean, with up to 5 people in the house we don't want anyone to book who expects things to be spotless. There's a closet for storage plus room under the bed. The front lounge has a smart tv, water cooler, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, griddle, and lots of food you can take and pay for on an honour basis (throw a dollar in the box please :) I consider these amenities to qualify as a semi-kitchen lol- but be warned there's no set up for heavy duty cooking. It's also got a desk for getting some work done and a few instruments for spontaneous music making.
We live in the 7th ward, on a super friendly block and a street that's safe to walk at night. Its fast becoming a mixed neighborhood and some people call it the New Marigny but I think that shows a little too much imperial enthusiasm ;) If you're going to come enjoy the ambiance of new orleans we ask you to give back to it as well. There's a lot of kids around 5-10 years old in this neighborhood that like to stop by our stoop. Say hello and if you have some some time even get to know them... chances are they'll ask if they can play the electric drumset (possibly just with headphones). Also our neighbor across the street is something of an undiscovered but amazing folk artist- whose canvas is his bemirrored house which he is constantly repainting and decorating. Whatever you do, please don't walk up to his house with camera in hand. If you really want to take a picture you can always ask him as long as you mind his space (Warning- he can be both really talkative and also a bit of a crank), Above all, we realize by renting out a room we're breaking up the family vibe of the neighborhood so please be respectful and take some time to smile and wave at neighbors you see and if they seem interested, say hello and introduce yourself- especially to old folks on porches! and above alll... please be humble! While we appreciate the money your floating into our pockets- as far as our neighbors go, you and me and everyone not born here are guests in their neighborhood! Thanks ya'll!
  • Good location and place. communication was speedy.

  • At first I was a little concerned about the feasibility of a shared living space, but it was really quite nice. You get a table, a screen, and a bed with clean linens and that's all you really need as a solo traveller. Plus, Jonah let me borrow his bike, which was a lot of fun to ride around.
