“The name says it all! It has world class views, but a little known fact is it’s actually named after Mr. D.L. Bliss. The park is named in honor of timber and railroad magnate Duane Leroy Bliss, whose heirs donated 744 acres (301 ha) of land to the state in 1929.[1] It has since grown to 2,149 acres”

“Sand Harbor is truly the most beautiful beach that you can find on Lake Tahoe. Located about a 20 minute drive from the California/Nevada border of North Lake Tahoe, this place is absolutely gorgeous and worth the slightly out of the way drive. The park entry fee is 10 dollars which you can either pay with card or cash at the entrance. There is plenty of parking but I can imagine it can get full during the season. In December, there are only a few groups there. ”

“If you have a chance go over to Cave Rock. even just in the parking lot is absolute stunning view right down by the water. You can also go up the road and park and hike up to the peak of the rock and its breathtaking. Even being a local I frequent the top of cave rock just to relax and take in the panoramic views of Lake Tahoe! ”
