We had a fantastic stay at Ben's house in York. The space is amazing and it's fun to experience all the design details. There are lovely outdoor spaces too. We were able to house a large family comfortably. Ben was a clear communicator and very flexible about arrival and departure times. The walk into York is beautiful and Rowntree Park has a great kids' playground. We loved the city center of York and the smaller shops right in the neighborhood.
Ben was a great host, and the house is amazing.
I genuinely couldn't recommend Ben's place highly enough. Firstly, the design is incredible. It has even won an award! Ben designed the whole place himself and it's seriously cool - everything stylishly done and well thought out. Our rooms were really clean, comfortable beds and both with their own bathroom. Everything we needed like towels etc was left out. He was such a gracious and friendly host. He made us feel really welcome, was great company and a pleasure to stay with. The communication was fantastic and everything we needed was sent in a clear and concise email. The neighbourhood was quiet and its only a short walk to town. In summary - stay here!
Ben was a fantastic host. He made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to be helpful by giving us a ride to town. His house was 'the coolest I've ever been in' and the dog is also very friendly. Recommended if you're ever in York, I'd love to go back for a longer stay!
This is a great place to stay! We highly recommend it. The whole place is beautifully done, and finished to a very high standard. Ben was a great host, very welcoming, and gave us some great recommendations for local restaurants. Also loved his dog!
My wife & I stayed at Ben's last weekend and it was perfect. Ben has a beautiful home that's very modern. The house is only a 15min gentle stroll along the river into York. This was out first Airbnb experience & it was perfect. Bens communication was excellent & I can't reccomend his home enough.
Ben was great, a very welcoming and easy-going host. His home is beautiful and the facilities are of a high standard. Couldn't have asked for much more.
Although we didn't meet, Ben was an excellent host. He kept in regular contact and was available to answer questions when needed. The house instructions were very clear and helpful. I would recommend this house to anyone. It is as nice as the pictures suggest.

We had a really good airbnb experience. Although when we arrived Jelle was not at home, he gave me very detailed messages to let us get into his house. The room is quiet and warm and the location is perfect which is just near to the city wall.
We had a wonderful stay here. The place was clean and cozy. We had a nice room to ourselves but use of all the common areas. It was a nice quiet area but just a 10 minute walk to the city center. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
This is the place you need to stay if you visit York. The house is perfectly situated, Jelle is very friendly and helpful more than a tourist information center. We enjoyed our stay in York, and the house was a big part of it. Moreover, we are also thankful to Jelle because he accepted that we postponed our stay 1 night further even though we requested it in the very last minute.
Wonderful room in a great location, convenient parking and the house is well set up to accomodate guests. Jelle was very helpful and when we left something there kindly posted it back to us for free! Would definitely stay here again if we return to york.
The room is clean and comfortable. Location is good , great atmosphere. You can easily walk to anywhere. Jelle is a lovely host and also his daughter, Bella.
Jelle is a nice and helpful person, he describe the address punctually, help us to move our luggage to upstair. We can easily to communicate each other. Room is large enough for us, food for breakfast is provided in a special fridge for us, kitchen can be shared, so he make us felt as comfort as at home. Place is quiet and traffic convenience.
Very nice accommodation and Jelle is very helpful and friendly. Location us ideal for getting into the centre, and particularly good for York Castle Museum (highly recommended!)
Had another really comfortable stay at Jelle's. Jelle is a very good host and made us feel very welcome for our stay. We stopped in the Vincent Room this time which was very clean and comfortable with plenty of storage. The location is ideal - very quiet at night but easy walking distance into the town. Can't wait to come back

My wife and I had a great experience staying with Jelle and his place. We traveled to York and spent 3 nights. Jelle's residence was very very conveniently located between the city center and the train station in which we arrived and departed. It only took less than 10 minutes to walk from the train station to Jelle's house, and about 5 minutes to the start of the city center. Jelle was a great host, even offering to pick us up from the airport. Unfortunately our train from Cambridge to York was delayed, causing us to arrive a little later. As such, my wife and I missed Jelle when we arrived into York's train station. However, as mentioned before the walk to his house was very short and quite pleasant. Nonetheless, we were greeted by one of Jelle's housemates who showed us around and answered most of our questions before Jelle arrived home to meet with us. Jelle had a binder full of information and material on the many attractions and sites the city of York has to offer. He offered us advice and suggestions for our short stay in York, which did prove valuable as our guide book was short on the things to do and see. Overall our stay with Jelle was great, convenient, and enjoyable. Jelle had all the amenities that he offered us, including breakfast and laundry service (which we definitely needed). Although we didn't see much of Jelle (as he told us at the beginning that he would be away for work) or his housemates, we were able to at least see and talk to him the morning of our departure. In fact, Jelle was kind enough to drive us to the train station, relieving us of having to carry our heavy backpacks even for the short walk. We appreciate Jelle's help during our stay in York and would recommend him for anyone looking for a convenient place to sleep in York!
I loved my stay here! The location was fantastic - very close to the busy main streets, but in a lovely silent street by the old wall. Neither Jelle nor Toby were there when I stayed, but the house and room were wonderful and I had a great time.
Jelle is a great host and we really enjoyed our stay. The room is indeed quiet and comfortable and in the city centre! We would be happy to stay again. Jelle went out of his way to be hospitable, and even lent us a bike to get into town (only a ten minute walk in any case). He gave us some very useful advice on the local area. The room has a strong Wifi signal and fast internet access which was a bonus.
A wonderful stay in the heart of York - the city wall was the view from my window. Comfortable bed in happy secure house. Thank you Jelle for a lovely tranquil time.
We had a great (albeit short) stay with Jelle. He's a very warm and friendly host and his place is very well set up for Air BnB, with super quick Internet, a way to check in even if he's not there, and a folder for each guest with practical and tourist information about York. And his place is just a stone's throw from the city walls. Highly recommended!
Staying in Jelle's home was just what we needed for our time in York. The space was clean, comfortable, and quirky! I loved the wallpaper in the stairway. It has great views of the wall, and it's very easy to walk to all of York's attractions. We met some other Airbnb guests during our stay, which was lovely! Jelle was attentive, and left an incredible guide to the city for us to use. Would highly recommend!
We love the room, Jelle is not there when we arrive at his place, but the check in is smooth, we meet Jelle on the next day while we coming back from city centre, the rooms looks exactly like the photo, Bella's drawing is simply amazing, location is so convenience as you can walk to city centre in 15 mins time with stunning view along the walk. Both me and my friends enjoy the stay at Jelle place very very much, highly recommend to other travelers who coming to York.
Comfortable, clean and quiet room with a very friendly and helpful host - would definitely recommend!

This was my first AirBnB experience and Yelle is a great host. I had Bella's room which has a nice comfy double bed and a great view of the wall. Made me feel like i was in Game Of Thrones.
Jelle's home was the perfect place to stay for a night in York - it was only a short walk to both the train station and the main city, and the house itself is lovely. We stayed in Bella's room and there wasn't a single problem. Jelle's was really welcoming and gave us loads of suggestions on what to do, where to go and how to get there. We'd definitely stay here again if we came back to York.
Jelle is so amazing! Our train arrived at midnight and he came to pick us home. He gave us many good suggestions about York as well. And the location is nice, only 10 or 15 mins walk to the centre and very quiet, clean. The room is very sweet as well. It was such a wonderful experience and I'll choose Jelle's house next time when I go to York.
Room was as per photos. Very nice. Toilet also nice and clean. Room is a close walk from the train station and town so it's a great location. Walk slightly further and you have a bug waitrose and morrisons. Jelle is Very friendly and helpful and well prepared. Has a book showing all the info you need from restaurants to wifi password. Also provides coffee and tea and biscuits. Very very thoughtful. There is also a folder for guests to leave or use leftover tickets to attractions, a very nice touch.
It is a large clean room. The position is good, near the city center. Jelle is so good. All details are well prepared, feeling like home.
We stayed in Belle's room, which has the comfiest bed! House is a great location, 15 mins walk from anything. We didn't get to meet Jelle as he wasn't in and it was a flying stay for us but he gave us all the details we needed. I would definately stay again.
Unfortunately I couldn't make it to Jelles and had to cancel on the day I should have been travelling. Jelle was fine with me, apprecaiting my circumstances and offering me a free stay another time, which I thought was exceptionally generous as the issue was mine and I hadn't expected anything!
A really nice place to stay - clean, convenient location, with a very welcoming and nice host. We've had a great stay!

Good communication and warm welcome despite our late arrival. A lovely cottage which wad very comfortable and well equipped. Wonderful outside space, peaceful, and beautiful gardens which are well kept. Easy access to York and local attractions. Would highly recommend Michael's cottages.
Michael was responsive and easy to communicate with. The cottage was well-appointed and exactly as advertised. We particularly enjoyed the large garden in back. We also very much enjoyed the cafe the property. The breakfast was fantastic and Jenny and ﹰApril were very friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting ﹰYork.
Before arriving we received very good instructions which took us directly to the cottage. We had a couple of queries and Michael got straight back to us with answers, all very helpful and a good start to our 2 day break. In fact we found Michael to be very accommodating. The cottage was clean and welcoming with a wonderful cake waiting for us, those little gestures make all the difference! The house was well equipped with all you needed for a break including to prepare meals. The second bedroom is very small so just room for 2 single beds and a bedside table but the main bedroom had plenty of cupboards including 2 wardrobes so not a problem if you are happy to go into the other bedroom. We found the beds comfortable and slept very well as the cottage is in a quiet situation away from the main road. There is plenty of parking so no problem if your party are in 2 cars as we were. Outside at the back we really enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder including long-tailed tits and willow tits (or could be marsh tits). The cottage is near to York which is what we wanted. We will be visiting York fairly regularly but usually only 2 of us but when 4 we would definitely come back here.
We stayed in Parsley cottage for 4 nights in July. Michael was away so we were greeted by Carol who was lovely, showed us to our cottage and made sure we were settled in and new where everything was! she was always around if we needed anything. Chocolate cake was delicious and nice to enjoy with a cup of tea after traveling. The Gardens surrounding the cottage were beautiful and my two sons enjoyed the space to play! The cottage was just as described, clean and comfortable and in a great location for the Park and Ride into York. Michael provided a travel cot and highchair for us to use too. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to any other families visiting York. Thank you for having us!
The place is fantastic. It has a certain tranquility to it. The back yard is beautifully maintained. The interior is spotless, uncluttered, and has everything we need. There is laundry on site too. I would happily stay here long term. Michael is also a pleasant and generous person. I highly recommend the parsley cottage.
Awesome place. Very clean and comfortable. Close to town. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the chocolate cake on arrival. Highly recommended place to explore York from.
Michael's cottage is excellent value for money. It's in a quiet location, very clean and comfortable and beautifully appointed. It's close to York but also well situated for visiting other places nearby. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to our friends.

Made to feel very welcome. Excellent location for exploring york
The house is beautiful, quite and clean, unfortunately we stayed only for one night but the very friendly host Jelle helped us to wrap up the city in one day/night, luckily we stayed in York room, and the bathroom is clean at all times.
Perfect airbnb experience! Excellent communication with the host, and comfortable bed. Hot Beverages were in room as well as some snacks and water.
Jella was very welcoming and friendly. The room was well stocked with everything you need from a home away from home, including tea/coffee making facilities. Bathrooms were also well stocked with toiletries. Jella's lounge and kitchen was also availabe for use.
Jelle is very nice. He is well prepared everthing before I arrive. The location is good and easy to get anywhere. I had a good stay in his house.
Jelle and Bella were great hosts!! I had a very comfortable and nice stay in their beautiful home. Jelle was very helpful and knowledge about the city, and gave me some great tips. York is a beautiful city, and I can't wait for my next trip!!
Location is within walking distance to the city centre where most attractions are, and with the ancient city wall right in front. Jelle is friendly, helpful and flexible. Our train out is late noon and we were allowed to leave our luggages in the living room after we check out and come back later in the day for them. There are two separate showers which is good but only one of them has a sink. The temperature for the shower is a little hard to control. The toilet is well stocked with shampoo and shower foams for use which is good! I like the fridge that is has supplies of beer and yoghurt drinks with an honesty box. Best thing for a late night up.

Shared entrance and stairs but self contained once in the loft. The house is in a quiet suburb south of the centre of York. It's not too far into the centre - a 10 minute bus ride or a pleasant 20-30 minute walk along the river Ouse. A lovely attic space, recently converted with a big airy bedroom, a good sized bathroom and a little kitchen area. The loft room has a modern fresh interior in grey, white and brights! There's a lovely comfy king size bed with a feather duvet. You can have a non feather duvet if you like, just let me know. There's also a television, dvd player and selection of dvds. There's a hairdryer too. The bathroom has an electric power shower over a full sized bath. The kitchen has a fridge, kettle and combination microwave. You can borrow an iron and ironing board, just ask. The room has a beautiful view over the back garden and our neighbours' gardens too! It's the best of both worlds as it's a quiet suburban area with leafy streets. Nearby there are pubs with decent food and a row of shops for essential supplies. There's a cycle/foot path at the end of the street and it's an easy 20-30 minute walk into town along the river Ouse past the Millennium Bridge. York is a beautiful city with lots of history and loads to see! Plenty of pubs, restaurants and nightlife.... There are buses into town, and onwards. A shared front door and stairs but once you are in the loft it's self contained.... It really depends, mostly we are a pretty busy family but we are happy to help with anything you need; just let us know! Peaceful green suburbs with easy access to the 'Bright lights'! Free parking on the street, an easy walk to the bus stop and even into town on foot it's under half an hour? I provide tea, coffee and milk. I also provide towels. Also clean 100% cotton bed linen (not ironed)! Our broadband is very slow! Sometimes the water pressure is low, we try not to wash clothes and dishes when you are showering! I suppose that's the difference between a hotel and a home!saiba mais
Staying at Theolyn's place in York was truly wonderful. I love the simple room decor (with the Xmas festive touches), extremely comfy bed and large ensuite bathroom! We were provided with self-served croissant, tea and coffee. York is a beautiful historic city worth visiting and Theolyn's place is definitely recommended for a good night's sleep!
Theolyn's room is indeed gorgeous and perfect for stay in York. The room has a very comfy double bed, plenty of space for luggage, small kitchen area and en-suite bathroom and is only 10-15 min walk to the centre of York. Theolyn was very nice, giving us plenty of information about York with suggestions of places to go & see. We even had nice bits for breakfast left in the room :-)
Easy walk to Town and very convenient for local shops
Really good! The room is warm and cozy, Theolyn is so kind and waited for us in the midnight because the delay of our train. It was quite a nice experience in York.
Theolyn was there at the time of arrival, gave us the key showed us the room and left us to vet on with it. Room exactly as described, with nice clean en-suite, towels, and kitchenette with microwave/toaster oven combined, good for simple meals. The room is in the loft, and the dogs kept downstairs or in the garden are no bother at all. Theolyn made sure we had everything we needed, and left us to get on with it. The house is in a nice suburb, 30 minutes walk along the river from the OldCity, or less than 10 minutes by bus.
Theolyn was a lovely, welcoming, helpful host. The accommodation was large, clean and beautifully decorated in a quiet area. There were different types of coffee and jams to go with the croissants. Boxes full of dvds and plenty of interesting books to chose from. I would definitely stay there again.
Very cozy place! We were on a flying visit and the owner is very nice and hospitable and she gave us free tickets to the York Minister. 10/10 would book again.
Lovely room, fully equipped. Theolyn very welcoming and hospitable. I enjoyed my stay, albeit shorter than I had planned as I had to travel to London at short notice. Nice, quiet location with easy access to the train station, the river and a good pub (The Plough).

Modern studio annex to 1850s cottage with its own access, very close to river (too close when it floods!), big family garden, feels like a country retreat but only 15 minutes' easy river walk or 5 minutes on cycle track from city centre. A lovely newly-built studio attached to the main house with a king-size bed and its own sitting area. The studio feeling is clean and modern, though outside it's more like a country cottage, with our nearest neighbours more than 100m away. There's a simple kitchen area with a sink, fridge, microwave and tea/coffee-making facilities, but no hob/oven. There is an electric shower, sink and toilet. If you're bringing children then we can provide two single mattresses with bedding - the garden has a sunk-in trampoline and a slide (at your own risk!). We also have 4 hens and a puppy (who never comes into the annex). The studio has its own entrance with direct access to a large family garden, which you're free to enjoy. Access by car is via a country lane (bring a torch if arriving at night on foot) and there's free parking on the drive. If you're walking or on bikes, there's direct access from the garden to the riverside cycle track and Millennium Bridge. It's 15 minutes' easy walking by the river into the city or just a few minutes on a bike. We're an easy-going, communicative couple and both often work from home, so at least one of us should be around to show you where you'll be staying and answer any questions you have about what's to see in and around York. You'll have your own front door, so if you want your own time and space, we'll leave you to yourselves to come and go as you please. If you'd like to chat and have recommendations, we'll be happy to help, and if there's anything you'd like to borrow - games? hairdryer? - just ask. We're surrounded by greenery on four sides: a meadow, a wood, a field and allotments, so the overall feeling is very peaceful. Finding a house so close to the centre of York with so much space is very unusual. The beautiful Rowntree's Park is 5 minutes' walk across the Millennium Bridge. We are a couple of miles from Heslington where York university is, there is also a lovely cycle/walking route. Also within 5 minutes there's an Indian restaurant, a very local Sam Smith's pub, a pastry shop, a pharmacy, a Sainsbury's local and - our closest shop - an Aldi. For a wider selection of cafes, shops and restaurants, it's worth walking into town or across the river to the lovely Bishopthorpe Road area. Easy walking distance to York Racecourse which takes around 20 minutes. If you're driving, we're only a few minutes off the A64, though be prepared for a bit of a bumpy lane. If you want to avoid the bumps, park the car off the main road by the Steiner School and walk down. If you're coming by train, you can take a taxi from the station (10 minutes, about £8.00) or the number 7 bus (every 10 minutes during the day, £1.75pp), then a 3-minute walk. Once you're here, the easiest way into town is walking or cycling. It's only 15 minutes' walk into the town centre along the riverside path or a few minutes on a bike. The buses into town are frequent (from Fulford Road) and easier and cheaper than driving and parking. It's also only 10 minutes on the bus to the Designer Outlet if you'd like to go bargain hunting out of town. We'll provide a light breakfast - eg, cereal, fruit, juice and tea/coffee - for you to prepare in your own kitchen area, so you're really self-contained and don't have to fit into our schedules. Our two children, 9 and 7,may also be playing in the garden outside of school hours and during the holidays.saiba mais
Selena and Peters place is wonderful. Perfect for a nice country get away. Close enough to York (25m) if needed. The studio was very big, with everything needed. To little extras like wine, milk, coffee and cereal made it extra special. I'm coming back here when I'm next in York! Thank you, Benno and Jess
Peter and Selena made us feel very welcome, providing us with valuable travel tips and info. Room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The location was fantastic to walk into York or if you have a bike really nice ride. Parking was available as well. Would definitely recommend to stay.

Selena and Peter were lovely hosts. The room is gorgeous, light, airey and cosy. Very well appointed. Best mattress EVER.They left wine/milk/juice/cereal etc for us. Studio is set in a pretty garden and you feel like you are in the country side. We enjoyed our stay.
Another fantastic stay at this quiet little oasis of calm. I'm in two minds about posting this review because I don't want too many people to know about what a great place it is...
Great place for a few days stay, walking distance from the city. Nice spacious apartment road to it is quite rough if you have a low car. Would stay again.

Julia made us feel welcome. The house is within easy access to the town. Room clean and comfortable and as indicated was on the third floor. Private bathroom was on the lower floor.
My stepson and his girlfriend stayed at Julia's house the night before his dad and I got married, so that other family members could stay at our house. They had a good stay with a very comfortable bed and appreciated the privacy of having the top floor to themselves. The area was a good one with many places to go for breakfast and parking was available with a visitor permit. All in all it was a good experience (as was the wedding the next day!)
Great stay at Julia's, she was super helpful with local suggestions and the room was just as described. Would definitely recommend.
We stayed at Julia's house for three nights. Both Julia and Paul are kind friendly people. They made us feel right at home. The house is exactly as described and the airbnb room is comfortable for two people. The parkour down stairs is an added bonus, a nice place to relax and read. The neighbor is great. Several good restaurants and very close to all of York's attractions.
Very nice experience, bedroom and restroom both both very clean, Julia is a very nice host, we enjoyed our time a lot in York!
Delightful family, had breakfast with Riley. Very comfortable bed and a nice walk into the centre of York. Will stay again if I go that way. The bedroom at the back makes it very quiet.
The home and neighborhood are lovely. The room is attractive and all is exactly as described. The location is great, not far from rail ststion and easy to walk to York walls and old center, yet removed from tourism bustle and close to many nice places to eat. The family are lovely, with charming young ones. A great experience to get to know York and meet the family.
Excellent accommodation with private bathroom in a Victorian house. Although the house appears to be on a main road, the bedroom is at the back and very quiet. Julia and her family were very welcoming. Very good location, the restaurants and cafes of "Bishy Road" are minutes away and York City Centre only 10 minutes walk. I was in York for a "residential" for my MA which was being held at the National Rail Museum Conference Centre - must be fairly unusual to say you can walk most of the way to a conference along the city walls.

Had a lovely stay at Ian's, very close to city centre with good transport links, lovely room and good advice/local insights on where to go in York. As my first experience with airbnb I was really pleased with this choice! Can't recommend enough!
Lovely place. Very close to York Uni. Warm and very friendly host. Would defo visit again.
Ian was an excellent host! He was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Thank you Ian.
Ian is a very considerate host indeed. He really goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and is very friendly and helpful.
It was our pleasure to be treated as house guests in Ian's flat in York. He is a very relaxed 'people person' who appeared to genuinely enjoy spending time chatting with us. His recommendation of the Black Bull for dinner was an excellent choice. Thanks for the happy memories Ian, and we'd love to meet up if you manage to get to Australia.
I had a very nice time at Ian's apartment. The room was, as described, bright and spacious and offered plenty of privacy. Ian made sure that I felt at home and felt comfortable coming and going as I pleased, which was very kind. The bathroom and living room were both clean and in good upkeep. The room faces a somewhat-busy street, so if you have the window open at night, it can be somewhat noisy. If closed, however, noise is not a problem. The location was very convenient to the University of York, where I was doing research, and offered good bus access to the center of town, but it's a bit of a schlep to walk into the town from Ian's location. Overall it was an excellent stay and Ian proved a warm and gracious host.
The best place I stayed in UK! Ian was such a kind person who gave us a warm welcome and helpful advices. The room was nice and tidy, magazines and guide booklets were provided as well as other staff of everday use. And I really like the big bed and soft pillows. The place was a short walk from the city center and has direct bus to the railway (URL HIDDEN) is a good choice for short stay in York.
The room is very clean and cozy. Ian is nice and helpful and considerate. All the conversations with him went on really well and promptly. I definitely recommend this place.

This property is a beautifully renovated former salt house, situated in an idyllic rural landscape. The house has a wood burning stove for cosy nights and a self enclosed garden should you wish to bring a well-behaved pet. Come and explore Yorkshire! The Salt House has had various uses - it was originally used for salting and storing bacon. In more recent years it has been a coal shed and then a children's play house before conversion to living space Guests have a private gated access to a well equipped cottage and a small enclosed dog proof garden with a table and chairs. The garden is surrounded by woodland. We live in the adjacent farmhouse but we shall always try to be around when you arrive. We have included as many details as possible on the welcome sheet but if you need more information or advice please feel free to ask. We are ideally located for driving to York, Ripon and Harrogate. Whitby and the North Yorkshire coastline is about an hour and a half drive away with several stately homes closer to hand. There are local walks to explore and some excellent village pubs within a four mile radius. There is private parking for one car within the cottage garden. There is no public transport in the immediate area. The nearest train station is at Thirsk, 8 miles away. The cottage has electric water heating, electric radiators and a wood burning stove for use in colder weather. A daily basket of logs is included. Wi-fi is available but is quite slow. There is a TV and DVD player., There is a dishwasher and washing machine.saiba mais
Judith and Simon's self contained cottage alongside their farm is a wonderful location to get away from it all and relax. The cottage is beautifully presented and helps you unwind and get back to what is important. Everything worked well - especially the wood burning stove. The hosts Judith and Simon where extremely helpful, greeting me on arrival and taking time to explain the property and local attractions, but also leaving you to enjoy your time. Definitely would recommend, and would definitely stay again. Thank you Judith and Simon.
Absolutely loved out escape to the salt house. Judith was a great host with good communication and knowledge of the local area. The salt house was perfect and well equipped and loved that we could bring our dog along too. Will reccomend
The house was perfectly situated in the middle of some stunning countryside and great places to visit.
We stayed in this lovely cottage for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. It was really nicely decorated and the bathroom was very modern. Judith and Simon put some wonderful finishing touches to our stay such as the homemade bread, marmalade, fresh eggs and milk. The log burning stove was also lit for when we arrived. All in all we felt very welcome. The area is beautiful and great for walks or exploring nearby towns and villages. York was only 35mins away. I would highly recommend staying here!
What a find.........Fabulous cottage, great location, ideal to explore surrounding areas. The cottage is 5* outstanding in terms of comfort, quality furnishings and equipment supplied. Special touches like, the Fresh bread, butter, eggs, milk, marmalade and even fresh flowers, together with logs for wood burner being replenished daily. The garden is ideal for your pet, our cairn is usually an escape artist, but fence and gate all very secure and kept her safe. Ideal for twitchers , the birds and squirrels were a delight to watch on the bird feeders outside kitchen window. Lovely quiet, secluded, romantic location, ideal to recharge your batteries! Thank you Judith & Simon we will be back.
Judith and Simon met us as we arrived, explained everything we needed to know then left us to it with their numbers in case we needed them. Perfect! Beautiful little cottage with so much thought gone into it. Quiet, relaxing, absolutely perfect if you have a dog, with a large fenced off area that's safe! Our first experience with air bnb! this will take some beating!
This is a great place! A lovely house, well appointed and comfortable. Tucked away with views over open countryside and lots of homely touches. We would thoroughly recommend it.
Myself and my partner stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it!! The little cottage is perfectly decorated with everything you need. We had access to the main garden also which was beautiful with a treehouse and tree swing. Would definitely recommend this place for relaxing and visiting nearby towns. Judith and Simon were very attentive hosts and were kind enough to drop us off at the train station and give us local taxi hire numbers. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had a lovely weekend break in York and Danny & Nadia's place was in a perfect location. We could easily walk there from the station and into town, and it was in a nice quiet neighbourhood, away from the tourists in the city centre! Beautiful and very clean home. We had a great stay.
Nice hosts and good location.
Amazing stay with Danny and Nadia! They were very welcoming and helpful with information about the area. Great food recommendations.. we loved the Pig and Pastry! The room was clean and comfortable and we couldn't have asked for more courteous and generous hosts.
It is actually our first time to book a room via Airbnb and we are very lucky to meet Danny and Nadia, who offered us not only a lovely room but also useful trip tips. Thanks and would recommend it to all of you!
We had a lovely stay at Danny and Nadia's. We were very warmly welcomed and they had excellent suggestions for places to eat (do try Brigantes and Trembling Madness while you're there). The house is in a great location; although it is outside the city walls this allows it to have a parking space available and be more accessible by car. It was a 5-10 minute walk to Micklegate and, from there, easy to access the whole city by foot. The room was very comfortable and well-presented and the tea and coffee facilities were very welcome. It had by far the best window blind we have encountered in 6 weeks of travelling, and this combined with the very comfy bed and pillows made our two nights there two of the best sleeps we've had. The bathroom we shared with Danny and Nadia was lovely and very large, and we never encountered an issue in sharing it. We would highly recommend Danny and Nadia's for a short stay in York.
Danny and Nadia were welcoming and friendly hosts. Our room was very pleasant and comfortable. The proximity to the city centre is a real bonus and they are also close to the station (10min walk). A really nice home to stay in. Thank you.

Carol was just overall a very caring and incredible hostess. Made my time experience York very enjoyable thanks to her. Will definitely visit and stay there again in a heart-beat.
It was my first time visiting York and meeting and staying with Carol for the weekend had made my visit an enjoyable and memorable one. Carol's home was easily accessible from the city centre by both public transport and walking. The room was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was clean, spacious with a good power shower. The highlight of my stay was definitely the time spent sharing nice conversations, music, drinks and great home-cooked food with Carol. I didn't attempt to see all of York druing this trip as I knew I would be back to visit Carol at some point in the near future.
Carol received us with a warm welcome. She treated us with excellent homebake breakfast and better conversations. Suggested few places to go to the city centre and for dinner. We were up to five guest for one bathroom though. Overall, great experience and definitively we would come back to her place in York.
Carol was a lovely Host who made me feel very welcome and has a lot knkowledge to share about where to go and what to see in York. I had a great time and would definitely stay with her again! Plus she provided me with an incredible breakfast every morning.
Carol is the best host you could ever imagine. I was travelling on my own and she made me feel at home and helped me out with a lot of things. It´s easy to get to the centre by bus. The atmosphere in this house is very special, very warm. Don´t miss to get to know her!
Fantastic stay, yet again! Stevie was unwell and Carol looked after her which I'm forever grateful for. Thank you Carol xx
Carol has been an absolute delight to live with. I only stayed at her's for 2 nights but we shared a bond like we ve been friends for years. She is a gracious host, very caring, well spoken and well read. She knows more about and has been to India more than I have. The rooms are quite funky with all the decor from India, and all the rooms were extremely clean and well kept. She also helped me a lot with sightseeing and routes to get to city centre. Her house is at a convenient location with 5mins walk to a bus stop and 10mins away from the city centre. But the best part about my stay was the meals she cooked. The breakfast and the Indian food for dinner were one of the best Ive had. If Im going to York again, definitely staying with Carol. She defines the city and its people single handedly.
I really loved staying with Carol. She is a friendly and generous host and has a very charming house. Great food and inspiring conversations :-) I would definetly stay there again.

Try one of our comfy camping pods in N Yorkshire. The Small Pod is ideal for 2 people, but you can fit in a child & dog too. Bring everything you would camping - apart from the tent! There are no beds, but we hire out airbeds for £3 each. Hillcrest Park is our 6 acre, holiday location in the northernmost of the Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale. Surrounded by farmland, it offers peace, tranquillity and beautiful views of Teesdale – yet is only 10mins from the A66. It is ideal for walkers, cyclists and dog owners (we have a dog walking field onsite) and is close to Richmond, Barnard Castle, High Force Waterfall, Raby Castle and a host of other Dales attractions. Camping Pods are solidly built, insulated wooden huts with good headroom and a carpeted interior floor area, with lights, a heater and an electric socket to power mobile phones, laptops and travel devices for that little bit of extra comfort. There is timber decking providing somewhere to sun-bathe, prepare food or hang your wet gear. The window and lockable French doors are double glazed and the Cumbrian sheep's wool insulation and fitted heater means that the Pod really is a year-round option. There is a cycle storage area on site and we also hire out camping stoves and mattresses if you require and can provide a breakfast pack with advance notice. You will have full use of our centrally heated amenity block with free showers, loos, hairdryer, hot water for dishwashing, fridge, kettle, microwave and hob plus a coin operated laundry. There are picnic tables/benches provided for each pod as well as hardstanding for barbeques. If you don't want to cook outside for yourself, there is a good pub a mile and a half up the road in Caldwell (the Brownlow Arms) which serves food in the evenings. But if you fancy a good walking destination, you can wander down to Winston Gate (15mins walk away) and take the Teesdale Way along the river Tees towards Whorlton and have lunch at The Bridge, which is open from 10am until 11pm and is also dog friendly. Alternatively, you can head into Staindrop and have brunch on the green at the Laurels cafe. All in all, the Pod really is 21st Century Camping. So why not revisit those fun childhood holidays, but this time with grown-up comforts. Guests have access to our centrally heated amenity block with free showers, loos and campers' kitchen, and also our 3 acre field, ideal for exercising both children and dogs! We also have a small shop on site selling the basics. We're here to help all our guests if they need it. But also happy to let them enjoy their break in peace! Remember staying in a camping pod is very much a camping experience - just in more comfort - so bring all your camping kit!saiba mais
Just back from a weekend break staying in the camping pods, the pod was quiet and cosy, had a heater and plugs to charge phones etc, the fecking area was lovely to sit on and relax and the over hang was great as I could sit out of the wind. Ed and Kate were lovely and friendly, Ed checked us in and was extremely helpful giving us directions to local pubs and walks. The kitchen and shower/toilet facilities were great, very clean and tidy. All in all its a great place to go and relax, they even catered for our dog by having a lovely field with tracks cut in for us to walk him or play with his ball. We will definitely be going again.
The camping pod was fantastic. The pods were laid out well to achieve a nice amount of privacy. The little heater a lovely bonus. I was especially impressed with the hot showers and kitchen area, shared but clean and never busy. Kate was a perfect host, filled us in on the local area and available if help was needed. The field for dog walking was a huge bonus. Made first and last walks easy. Would highly recommend
Loved it! Beautiful surroundings, cute little pod, with great facilities on site.
Our camping Pod was excellent. A really unique 'glamping' experience. Good facilities, clean and well thought out. Kate and Ed were friendly and helpful.
I stayed in one of the camping pods at Hillcrest Park and had an amazing time. Upon arrival I was greeted by Ed followed by Kate who gave me a tour of the grounds and upgraded my stay to a spacious family size pod. The pod itself is clean and the rented air mattress is comfortable. The heater provided combined with my sleeping bag was sufficient for keeping me warm. On the second night I was actually too toasty and had to turn down the heating. Internet is also available for a very reasonable small fee. The communal area has two showers, two toilets, three sinks and a kitchen area and a fridge. The showers had warm water when I needed it and the kitchen was fully stocked for cooking meals. I travelled by train and some forward planning was required to ensure I had groceries as there are no shops within walking distance. However this was not a problem as I was there for work and managed to stock up before I was dropped off to the park. The main attraction is the local area which is beautiful and I highly recommend following some of the local walking routes. The park itself has great views and beautiful birdsong all day! The highlight of the trip was Ed and Kate. Kate is super friendly - she made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay and was always available for great chats. They both have a great knowledge of the area for recommendations. My stay wouldn’t have been the same without such great hosts.
We had a lovely couple of nights at Kate and Eds campsite, the camping pod was fabulous, we wished we could have stayed longer. It was so lovely to snuggle up and watch the night sky through it's little patio doors. The facilities were great, the ladies toilets and shower block were lovely and clean. There was a good kitchen prep area which was very handy as our gas stove died! Our hosts were really nice and welcoming , they were there if we needed them but left us to enjoy ourselves too. It's a great place to base yourself and there are plenty of lovely areas to explore. We cant wait to go again soon.
Pods were a great stay and we even got upgraded on arrival for free, would definitely stay again!
Lovely little pod (but with plenty of room) in a beautiful area. Hosts were really helpful and welcomed us warmly.

It was our first experience with Airbnb.. And I'm happy to stay at Jelle place. My daughter even said "Daddy, I love this hotel! The room was clean and exotic..
Although the host wasn't present, directions were clear and the house was lovely. Beautiful room, I didn't expect it to be so hotel-like (the kettle and tea did the job!!). Really really good value for money.
A very pleasant stay. Jelle is very kind and welcoming. The list is accurate, everything is the way as described. Definitely will recommend.
This was my second stay at Jelle's place. Its a lovely house in an excellent location for the city. Jelle is an excellent host and goes to great lengths to make his guests feel welcome and very much part of the household. Will definitely stay again!
Jelle is friendly & easygoing - this is a popular and relaxing stay for good reason. Best of all is the excellent location right in the corner of the central city walls and within easy walking distance of the city centre by day or night. We had a great time. Thanks, Jelle.
Thanks for a great stay and your flexibility with times and parking... Took the stress out of entertaining our Canadian visitors!! We had a great time.

We really enjoyed our stay at Raquel's. The hosts were very friendly, kind and helpful. They offered us breakfast and gave us lift to town several times. Also, their dog was a real cutie - such a loving dog and very well behaving! Would recommend to anyone.

We live in a quiet street with an almost rural feel and yet it is just a pleasant 20 minutes walk to the historic centre of York or the train station. The Number 2 bus runs from near the house (Water End) to the centre of York (Museum Street). There are three different ways to walk into town: along the river; or walk down Bootham and through the historic Bootham Gate arch; or behind St Peter's School and through the Museum Gardens. Each one takes 15-20 minutes. Taxis from the train station/town centre to the house cost approx. £7 in normal traffic conditions. There are cafes and restaurants nearby, and local takeaway restaurants deliver to the house. If you order a takeaway please eat it in the private living room rather than the bedroom. You can use cutlery, plates, etc from the kitchen.saiba mais
What an amazing host! I had the best time in York. Catalina was not in town but Margaret was extremely friendly and helpful. The house is beautifully bucolic yet within walking distance to the city centre. The room was exquisite and cozy. I particularly enjoyed the tea. And the lovely cat. Thank yo so much Margaret!
Our hosts - Catalina and Margaret - could not have been more welcoming. They both went the extra mile to make sure we had a comfortable stay, providing, for example, home-made bread for breakfast, 'real' coffee and even a daily newspaper. Most important of all, though, was their own friendly approach - they really made us feel at home. The house itself was perfect - clean, warm, comfortable and with privacy for the guests. The whole combination made for a very enjoyable stay and one which I hope I will have the opportunity to repeat.
Loved the garden, the sitting room for our own use, the relaxed atmosphere, the clean bathroom, the bread, the smoothies, the walk along the river to town, finding out about social enterprises. Will return! Thank you!
The accomodation was in a beautiful quiet are very convent area very close to the local buses into York a few minutes up the road. Catalina and Margaret were excellent hosts making us drinks on arrival and helping take our bags to the room. The sitting room is so calm and relaxing and very peaceful.
Catalina and Margaret are super welcoming, warm and helpful hosts. Their home is just perfect for a chilled out stay. Thank you ever so much!
I spent two days with them. They were really kind and gave all the helps I need, even the flu medicine. The location and the decoration was all perfect. Lovely house.

Our house is the perfect place to stay while visiting York. The house is located in "Britain’s best high street" Bishy Road full of lovely shops and cafés. It is easy to walk to every main areas in York. The house consists of two bedrooms, one living room, one open kitchen and dining room and one bathroom. The shared bathroom (located downstairs) has a shower and a bath and we have a lovely back garden with table and seats to take meals outside or simply relax. The guests bedroom has a double bed (and a single bed that can be used for a £15 supplement), a desk and a wardrobe. The location of the house is ideal. Have a look at Bishy road's website on which you will find what's on. Everything is at a walking distance. The train station is a 10 min walk max from the house. You wil find a Europcar at the train station if you want to rent a car. We are 4 min away from the river, 5 min from clifford's tower. You will also find a gate to start the infamous "walk around the Wall" accross the street. York is one fat history book of a city. Chapter One is simply wandering around and wallowing in the names - The Shambles, Bitchdaughter Tower and Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate. Then visit the tremendous Minster (entry £5.50 a head), fully restored inside after the disastrous fire of 1984. York has a rich Viking past.saiba mais
A great place to stay just outside the old city walls.
Such a beautiful flat and very lovely and welcoming people - they really made us feel at home and welcome. The house is really close to the shops, and a short walk to the city centre, and easily walkable from the train station. You'd be hard pressed to find a better place to stay.
We spent a wonderful time in York. Lou was very welcoming and friendly. She advised us well on the things to discover in York. The room was pleasant and corresponded to the description . The neighbourhood was quiet and close to the city centre (about 10 minutes walk on the battlements).
She is very nice and hospitable and the room is tidy and clean. It is worth to stay.
Lou was a great host and made us feel welcome in her home. The room she provided was very clean and the beds were excellent. Thank you for opening you home to us, I would highly recommend Lou's home to anyone!

We had a fantastic weekend at Cath and Phil's house. It was perfect for my friend's hen party. We had a lovely time sharing afternoon tea, relaxing in their gorgeous pool and jacuzzi and then a fab night out in Leeds. Phil and Cath were wonderful hosts and were so helpful throughout the process. Would highly recommend their house particularly for a hen party.
Amazing house! Loved the pool and the Jacuzzi :) Comfy, homely and had everything we could have asked for. Cath and Phil are friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Hope to use again! Thank you! Sam and all the girls
Myself and 11 other students stayed in Phil and Cath's lovely house for one night while we were competing at a competition in Castleford. Phil and Cath gave us a lovely welcome and tour around their house making us all feel comfortable and they were really helpful. We all loved the pool and jacuzzi, this allowed us to have a fun and relaxing night. We would all highly recommend this house to others. Thanks again Peter.
Thank you for an amazing stay at your beautiful house! I will be recommending it to every bride I know! We loved the pool and the new conservatory! The house was so clean and beautifully presented. Rachel
We had a great hen weekend at Phil and Cath's house. The communication up to the stay was fantastic and Phil and Cath are great hosts. Would recommend a visit to this lovely house :)
Lovely large home which comfortably sleeps 14 people. There are lots of communal spaces, large living room, large kitchen and dining room, everything you could need. Pool is amazing, large pool with jaccuzzi, and inflatables! Music system plays in the pool area so a really fun way to spend an evening, it was the highlight of our hen do, don't book a night out just have a good playlist on your phone! Lots of parking space, and good amenities nearby. The host are very friendly and had good reccomendation for daytime pubs and bars. Only thing I would say is be prepared the family do live here in the week, so it wasn't quite like the holiday apartments I have booked through airbnb abroad, as they waited to meet the whole group before leaving, understandably being their main property. although they are totally accommodating of you using their space completely, and all kitchen equipment and even condiments, so you can't fault it. Thanks for a great weekend.
Phil and Cath's place is wonderful. I hired it for two nights for a hen weekend (12 ladies in total) and it exceeded all my expectations. Phil is a great guy to deal with, extremely personable, friendly and helpful right from the start. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. He even picked up and dropped some of us off at the station for which we were very grateful for. The house is really lovely with plenty of space and everything you could ever need. Of course we spent loads of time in the pool and jacuzzi. The 'disco shower' (as we named it) in the bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom was also a firm favourite! The bride to be has expressed it was the best weekend of her life and I’ve no doubt the house played a big part in her experience. The rest of the hens all want to join me in saying thanks to Phil and his family for being so hospitable to us- we really had a great time and it made the hen party a very special experience.
We had the best weekend staying at Phil and Caths for my partners 30th birthday. Even though there were 11 of us there was plenty of space. We were able to relax and have so much fun in a safe and comfortable environment. Thoroughly recommend!

Wonderful stay, great location, great apartment. Would stay again
Great location, excellent base for exploring York, would highly recommend.
Cosetta's apartment is awesome! It is perfect for 4 persons to stay. The apartment is very clean and comfortable, plus the kitchen is well-equipped that we can get everything we needed. Highly recommended!
It was lovely staying at Cosetta's place. The flat was brand new, spotlessly clean, spacious, and comfortable. The neighbourhood was very quiet and close to York station as well as city centre. Cosetta and her husband were very friendly and supportive. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting York!
The apartment is so lovely and comfortable! Everything was to perfection and Cosetta and her husband welcomed us with open arms! I would definitely recommend this place!
This apartment is everything you see on the site and more! My friend and I arrived by train and no. 47 was only a few minutes walk away. Everything in the apartment is fresh and new, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The beds were very comfy and we both slept well. There is a Sainsbury's store just round the corner & a few steps further on is the bus stop for the York sightseeing open top bus. Can really recommend this as an excellent introduction to York! Consetta's apartment is a first class place to stay and an ideal base for exploring the city. You can't go wrong!!
We had a fantastic time staying at Cosetta's apartment. The apartment is beautifully clean, modern, and comfortable, and was ideal for us as a place to stay whilst exploring the wonderful city of York for a couple of days. Cosetta was great at communicating with me, and all her instructions about how to park and get into the apartment were very clear. I would highly recommend staying here!
The apartment was spotless when we arrived; although we didn't meet Cosetta, her instructions meant our arrival by car was straightforward. she was always quick to respond to any messages I sent. The location was great for us, a short walk to Mickelgate and plenty of facilities nearby such as a supermarket, and York rail station, There were many nice touches in the apartment, such as coffee, fresh milk and cornflakes, soap and plenty of tourist information on the latest events in York. I'd recommend staying here, particularly if you're driving to York, and also if you are taking the train.

Cosetta's place has free off road parking and is only a ten minute walk from the town. It is cosy and warm with everything you need. Can't wait for our next visit!Thank you Cosetta.
A delighful first Airbnb experience. Cosetta was very welcoming and the rooms were attractive and clean. Information about the area was given and although we had no need to ask questions, the feeling that we could was genuine. Cosetta is a delightful hostess. I highly recommend this home.
Everything was as described for the accommodation. Cosetta and her partner gave a warm greeting and a quick tour of the accommodation etc... Really useful back ground information and directions to walk to the centre, which is only 10 minutes walk too. Great location and overall I would highly recommend this accommodation.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Cosetta's place during a two-night trip to York. The house is in a residential area that is easily accessible from the train station by bus and we were easily able to walk to most of the main attractions in 15-20 minutes. The space is very modern and immaculate. We especially enjoyed the private sitting room as a place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Cosetta and her husband both greeted us upon our arrival and were very warm and accessible throughout our stay! I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting York!
It was a great pleasure staying with Cosetta and her husband! They are a really nice couple with lots of interests and perfect hosts ... we loved chatting with them. The place is very close to town (5-10 minutes by feet). The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable with everything you need! We slept very well. Additionally you have the opportunity to park your car in front of the house, Cosetta even allowed us to let the car there on our departure day until late afternoon. In summary we highly recommend staying at Cosettas place!
Lovey rooms, we really enjoyed having the sitting room to relax in the evening. Fantastic location.
We love York and Cosetta and Matteo were fab hosts. Location is wonderful and rooms were clean with everything you need. Thank-you so much.

Carol was an amazing host! She greeted me with tea and cookies, cooked an awesome dinner, shared her beautiful wine and port and had a lovely breakfast ready to go every morning! More than just about food though, staying with Carol was just perfect. Clean, comfortable and charismatic, her house is so welcoming you feel at home straight away, and while happy to help you with any needs you might have she is still very happy to leave you to your own devices. I would love to stay with Carol again and highly reccommend her house!

Our stay was very comfortable in Carol's home. It was very easy to find with get directions. Very big and comfy bed. It is a nice 30min walk into town or the bus station is just up the street. Carol had fantastic breakfast every morning and very helpful advise about York. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Carol was a wonderful host. She provided us with a healthy breakfast on both mornings, offered to wash our clothes and gave us insightful tips about York. The house is well located near the city center (we walked back and forth every day). Most of all, Carol was very attentive to our every needs and wonderful conversation. We would recommend this place to anyone travelling to York.
Carol is an excellent host. Her home is comfortable, cozy, and unique; the perfect compliment to Carol.
