The most popular Waterfall in Pisgah Forest will be Looking Glass Rock Falls. It is right off the side of the highway and is a very simple “hike” down stairs to the base. Anyone should be able to complete this hike because it is a very short walk on concrete stairs. It can often be very crowded, but worth a stop since it is so easy to access.

Dupont Forest has a ton of great waterfalls and you can hit 3 of the most popular ones in a 3-mile hike. The 3 waterfalls are Triple Falls, High Falls, and Hooker Falls. We highly recommend this hike because the hike is fairly simple and you get to see 3 awesome waterfalls. There are some steep areas, which may make it a little difficult at times, but nothing too extreme. This area is also a great spot for swimming at Hooker Falls and a natural water slide at High Falls, but I wouldn’t suggest young kids on the slide.

Graveyard Fields is a 3.2-mile round trip. It is a unique loop that starts by winding through some Rhododendron and then opening up to the creek that has multiple waterfalls on. You can find this off of the Blue Ridge Parkway and it is a beautiful hike for anyone. As all hikes, there is some elevation change, but nothing too extreme.

Moore Cove Falls trail is a really simple 1.4-mile hike that doesn’t climb a lot, so it makes it a great trail for anyone. This is a cool little waterfall that you can get behind without getting wet and there is a trail on the side you can climb to the top of the falls.

There are also some great spots in Gorges State Park, but that is a little more of a drive. Rainbow Falls is probably the most popular one, which is a huge waterfall. You can swim there or go father up the river to Turtle Back Falls which has a natural slide off a waterfall. Very cool and highly recommended. This hike is a 4.5-mile hike in and out. I would suggest caution around Turtle Back Falls. It can be very dangerous to newcomers, but with the right precaution, can be a fun time.
