Neighborhoods
Ascending the Telegraph Pass is a rite of passage of sorts. It's a challenging 5-mile hike up to the antennas at the top of one of the peaks of the Gila Ridge Mountains. Definitely bring sun protection and wear good shoes with a sturdy, rock-resistant sole. Located about 3 miles from the AirBNB. Cross the highway and turn right on Frontage Road, it dead-ends into the gravel parking lot. Walk from there. You don't have to go all the way to the top to enjoy the views.

The AirBNB is located in the Foothills - a quiet mountainside neighborhood that has lots of yard sales on weekends :-). Enjoy your Fridays and Saturdays this way. The sales start early, sometimes even at 6 am, and end early - usually by 11 am or noon. Just look for signs on the side of Foothills Blvd. or check out the listings in the local newspaper - the Yuma Sun. Garage sale listings are usually published Thursday and Friday. Enjoy! Bring small bills.

The Goldwater range spans many miles, to include the nearest desert. You may need a permit to hike in the desert - the good news is that it's FREE, but you have to watch a safety video and then download the permit. You can just keep a screenshot of it on your phone. To get it, go to https://luke.isportsman.net/, click on "account info and registration" and proceed from there. The safety video takes about 15 min. to watch. At the end of the video you will be able to download your permit.

Double-check the address, last I heard he was at the Arizona Marketplace, an outdoor market at Ave. 4E and 32nd Street. This guy is amazing! Everything from jewelry repairs, watch battery replacement to custom-designed jewelry, and what a nice person!

This is a large outdoor market. It's open Thursday-Sunday, and admission is free on Thursday and Friday, but on Saturday and Sunday they charge $1 (one dollar) admission. They often have live music around lunchtime. Food vendors are there too. Parking is free.

This is a great local laundromat, their drop off service is excellent, they even treat for stains. They return the clothes to you nicely folded and smelling so good!
