This is the best beach in Auckland. There are no roads along the beach only houses so it is very quiet. Great for swimming two hours either side of high tide, and at low tide you can walk out among the sand pools and see what you can spot. Walk along the beach from Bath street and up and around the mountain at the end North Head. Amazing views.

A stunning and wild west coast beach only one hour from Auckland. Take a stroll on this beach - beware the sand can get very hot. There are a couple of good cafes out there if you get hungry

This is a really fun place for the kids with all the old WWI war shelters on the hill. Explore the tunnels, slide down the hill on some cardboard, and take in some of the best views of the harbour in Auckland. See if you can find the hidden beaches at lovers cove.
