Here are some of my favourite spots around Jan Juc and Torquay.
The places marked as "JUC" mean they're in the small set of shops closest to the accommodation. It's either a three minute drive or a fifteen minute walk away. But the walk does include a bit of a hill - so factor that in when deciding how to get there!
The places marked as "$" means they're a little more expensive/fancy, but definitely worth it!

GILBERT STREET. This place only does coffee and toasties (and maybe soup in winter). It's run by a bunch of young surfie blokes and definitely has that vibe. The coffee is definitely some of the best in Torquay.

SURF PLAZA - Hola! If Mexican is your thing, then look no further. Tucked away in the small plaza behind Rip Curl and the Surf Museum, this place is great. Open for lunch and dinner.

Sightseeing
Point Addis is the favourite beach for many locals. Including myself. The soaring surrounding cliffs and natural bushland make it feel more natural and private than other beaches in the area. Great walking tracks and a Koori nature trail as well.

Iconic beach and home of the Rip Curl Pro International Surfing Comp held every Easter. It's a short drive away from the accommodation (approx 8 minutes) or you can drive up to Jan Juc Beach and walk there along the coastal cliff top path (approx 40 minutes).

A great little local museum where you can learn more about surfing and beach culture. Well worth a visit.
