This is about a half hour away from the Hideaway but worth the trip. Take the Ironton Ferry to the other side of Lake Charlevoix and the restaurant is right there. Great buzz in the summer as many boaters pull up to eat here. Often a long wait in the summer, but you can have drinks on the benches from the bar.

City/town information

Boyne City is a small lakeside town with so much to offer. From Memorial Weekend, every Friday, there is Stroll the Streets with live music on every corner, balloons, shopping and special events. The 4th of July parade and fireworks are the best in Northern Michigan. With beaches, hiking, boating (sailing, kayaking, powerboats), golf, wineries, mountain biking, ziplining, and fishing, the summers are packed in this little town also full of great restaurants and boutique shopping. Winters are just as good with skiing just down the road, sledding, ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice sailing. There is something happening every day! https://www.boynechamber.com/events

Home of Hemingway, Village of Walloon Lake is small but has fishing, a quaint beach, a park (with playground and basketball), restaurants, and plenty of cute shops. There is boat/tube rental and Tommy's Sport Shop beneath the Barrel Back Restaurant. In the summer, there is an open bar out by the docks and boats. They often have their own events and festivals so check out: https://www.walloonlakemi.com/

What is Petoskey known for? Petoskey is a charming lakeside community known for its natural beauty, Victorian architecture, historic Gaslight Shopping District, and of course, the Petoskey Stone. It's the largest of the lakeside towns in the northwest and offers an abundance of shopping. So if that's your gig, this is the best place to go. It also has plenty of restaurants from fine dining to barbecue. Petoskey is surrounded by wineries so maybe plan a vineyard tour for a day! https://petoskeyarea.com/
