A beautiful house, wonderful parkland and woodlands, a large lake and a fabulous, beautifully-maintained wall garden. You can walk from our house - about 45 minutes' walk through the woods, past the lake and across parkland to the house and garden. Good food in the cafe.

Another fabulous NT property - extensive walks around the estate, particularly good at bluebell time. The hall is fantastic, as are the gardens. Good food as well. Or try the Bucks Arms, right next to the hall.

A beautiful harbour village. Go down to the beach car park and walk as far as the beach at Holkham - or further. Holkham beach is huge and, once you are past the crowds, often nearly deserted.

A large, neo-Palladian hall, set in the middle of a huge estate, with a lovely walled garden. Combine a visit there with a walk down Lady Anne's Drive to Holkham beach. Eat at the Victoria pub - but you may need to book!
