Everything Else

This building was featured in the movie "Bladerunner." The guy who made the living toys lived there (Sebastian.) The restoration is amazing: you have to see it in person.

This is so corny but it's fun. Shortest train in the world, made of wood, goes up the hill. 50 big ones to ride: cents that is.

Gorgeous building with glass elevators and a rotating bar at the top. OMG: It was the supposed location of the 80s sitcom "It's a Living!"

Food Scene

The interior is gorgeous. Food's not amazing, but the cocktails are tasty and it's not too pricey.

This place has flaming margaritas (what can I say? I like a drink that's on fire.) I love Mexican food and have had it everywhere (I'm from TX.) This is my favorite. (Right now.)

This is some of the best food I have ever had in my life. Period. So very very worth a visit. I love this place, and the fact that it's vegan is just so much the better.

This place reminds me of San Antonio (oval plates, bright colors, Christmas lights, etc.) It's got a huge rubber plant that covers the entire inside. There's also a nice enclosed porch.

I LOVE EL CHAVO. I love the interior, the soup, ropa vieja, and mole are great. Huge autographed Dolly Parton poster by the bar. Awesome "inside/outside" style of Mex. Rest. decor.

AMAZING fried chicken, Korean style. Boneless, spicy. Attendant call-buttons at your booth; art directed like a Quentin Tarantino L.A. tribute "timepiece."

THIS PLACE KICKS ASS. They have homemade PopTarts™ that will shred your mind. Also: doughnuts like a freakout. Generally: expected food with unexpectedly nice ingredients. Wonderful place.

I find the food here to be somewhat overdone/priced and tedious. But the drinks are lovely and the interior is nearly lethal in its precise beauty. There's a drink with beef jerky in it.

My favorites are on the "Secret Menu": Spicy Bird [seriously spicy turkey burger with crispy fried onions] and truffle cheese fries. Sidenote: to me, concept of "Secret Menu" = dumb.
