The S.M.A.K. keeps a finger on the pulse of the society but sometimes it’s salt on the wound too. You can gradually recover from these many impressions in the museum café.
The ‘Broodthaerskabinet’ at the back of the museum forms a transition between the museum building and the Floralies Hall, a ‘crystal palace’ whose architecture transports us back to the spirit of the 19th century.

The Millionaires’ Quarter is an unique district: it was here that leading architects from the inter-war period built some of their most prestigious projects. Many of them also owned houses here as a showcase. And although you’ll come across the most diverse building styles, the area nevertheless radiates its own unique sort of unity. The Millionaires’ Quarter, home of the rich locals, has been protected as a cityscape since 1994.

In order to protect this splendid site as best as possible, it is only opened to visitors on rare occasions.
