Closest winery in Banner Elk, large indoor space for the winter and cozy fire / large outdoor space overlooking a pond. The winery is remote, peaceful, and calm and frequently has acoustic live music that provides a great ambiance. We highly recommend their Banner Elk White Wine and that you give their Sangria a try!

Bar at the top of the ski-slopes; panoramic views! Can be accessed from Beech Mountain ski-resort (park and purchase a ticket to the ski lift to ride up) or for the more adventurous can hike directly up the ski slope on our road. Occasionally have live music in the summer and a few different view points to check out.

Small bar in downtown Banner Elk; live music on weekends. From the outside looks small, but there is a large room upstairs with plenty of games and TV's with sports. There are also spots down by the stream that you can enjoy nature.

Parks & Nature
Recommend during a clear day and can make a day out of it. Pack lunch & snacks and take your time at each overlook driving up Grandfather Mountain. Definitely make a pit stop to see the animals (bears, eagles, mountain lions, etc.) and check out the small museum. Grandfather mountain is known for it's swinging / singing bridge and is a MUST do for anyone's visit. (Note: If conditions change to rain and/or lightning, they may shut down the bridge until weather clears)

Extremely short hike but graded. Would highly recommend for the beautiful water fall and beaches that you can lounge & take a dip in the shallow waters to swim in the summer.

An amusement park in the mountains. Great for kids of all ages and fun will be had by all. We have visited with out 1.5 year old and there was plenty of rides and things that we could do! Train rides, petting zoo, gold panning, plays & shows galore, and plenty of amusement rides for all ages.
