The lake is still good swimming in September. There is a nice walk about a mile or so and there is a 2 mile hike to a scenic overlook. Dog friendly is why I recommend it.

Tough road sometimes but getting that far into the back country is worth it. The road follows the Northfork of the Flathead River and skirts the western boundary of Glacier National Park.

Incredible hike to Finger Lakes. Dog friendly. Most of the driving miles (all but four or five) are on Hwy 93 so an easy drive. Gorgeous hike with small views of rain forest mossy scenery. Fishing

Food Scene
The best dinner in the valley is what I say! Bigfork is 30 miles or so and worth the drive to see Flathead Lake. Chef Blu Funk kicks out incredible fish / steaks / and has homemade ice cream!

The BEST! Jean has the best PHO, or try spring rolls, or really anything. And they deliver or call for take out after your fun day. Not expensive.
