Mống Bridge Ho Chi Minh City.JPG The Mong Bridge (Cầu Mống in Vietnamese, "Rainbow bridge") is a steel bridge across the Bến Nghé River, connecting District 1 and District 4 of Ho Chi Minh City. It is one of the oldest bridges in that city. Originally named Pont des Messageries maritimes, it was built in 1893-1894 by the French construction company Levallois Perret (the company formerly led by Gustave Eiffel) for the merchant shipping company Messageries maritimes. The bridge was completely removed in 2005 during the construction of the Saigon River Tunnel and afterwards rebuilt, turning it from a road bridge into a footbridge The Dragons Host

At the turn of the 20th century, this magnificent building, designed by French architect Ferret Eugene, was built as a classical opera house with 800 seats to entertain French colonists. Anyone who has been to France can recognize many similarities between the Opera House and the Petit Palais. In fact, just like the Reunification Palace, the applied ornament, balustrades, cartouches, and roof were imported directly from France. After 1956, the house functioned as home of the Lower House Assembly of Southern Vietnam. It’s not until 1975 that the opera house was restored to its original purpose of use.

We sampled the amazing beers of Heart of Darkness. My favourite was the Primeval Forest Pilsner, but the Pitiless Folly Pale Ale, Sacred Fire Golden Ale and Kurtz Insane IPA were amazing in their variety and complexity. Vietnam is a huge beer consuming society; the bar has been substantially raised. Sailor1003 from the Dragons host .

Turtle Lake today used to be the center of ancient Saigon Gia Dinh, long time ago. Before the year 1975, the South Vietnam government of President Nguyen Van Thieu decided to build Turtle Lake in 1967. There are many different mysterious stories about his decision.
