On weekends, the property is busy with people in for tastings or leisurely lunches, and kids playing cricket on the lawn. The Harmans have fostered a real community vibe. It comes most easily on Sundays, when shareable wood-fired pizzas are on the menu. They also serve beer and cider for non-wine drinkers, and stock locally made ice-cream and sorbet for dessert.

The pub is affectionately known as “The Killy”. It’s been pouring pints and grilling steaks since the 1930s. Mark Volard took over in 2014, and later employed a chef from Cuba. Alongside pub classics such as chicken parma, calamari and steak sandwiches, the menu now offers Cuban-style pork spare ribs and Argentinian barbeque chicken. There’s also a vegetarian section, and vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free adjustments can be made.

Jem and Kathi (pronounced Kati) are reopening the Walkerville Kiosk . .We look forward to a revamped kiosk with a lovely wooden bench table to sit at inside. Drop down and have a coffee and say hello to this committed enthusiastic young couple. We look forward to the longer opening hours and are hoping that our suggestions to Bill Bray about increasing sustainable practices including paper straws be adopted at the Cafe. Google Walkerville Kiosk or contact (03) 5663 2346 for opening hours .
