This is a very popular restaurant, right on the beachfront. The food is great, and the prices are reasonable. This is a firm favourite for the locals, not too smart and not to casual attire is worn, and there is a good ambiance for an evening out. Breakfasts with this view are hard to resist.

You should visit the Addo Elephant National Park to see a variety of animals. the national park is MUCH cheaper than visiting private gme reserves, and is only a short drive out of Port Elizabeth. There are thousands of species to be seen. The original elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only eleven elephants habitated the area. Today, this finely tuned eco- system is a sanctuary to over 600 elephants, lion, buffalo, black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, and variety of antelope and zebra species,as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. The park can exclusively claim to be the only national park in the world to conserve the 'Big 7' - the Big 5, as well as the southern right whale and the great white shark off the Algoa Bay Coast.

South End, as a suburb, was once a cosmopolitan community. Men, women, children and families lived harmonious lives in the epicentre of cultural diversity. Blacks, whites, coloureds, Indians, Chinese, Jews, Greeks and many more were united in their attitude towards family values, faith and morals, despite the diversity of religion, language and race. The South End Museum has worked hard to provide a realistic and thorough portrayal of life in the old South End. The gravity of the experience is only truly felt when walking amidst the faces, places and lives of this incredible community

In memory of the horses that served and died during the Second Boer War, where Britain brought a large number of horses to South Africa. More than 300,000 horses died in British service in South Africa. One of the principal reasons for Port Elizabeth taking such an interest in the movement, which started in 1901, was the fact that most of the horses brought to this country were landed here. The horses were shipped from all over the world, including 50,000 from the United States and 35,000 from Australia.

SANCCOB is Port Elizabeth's marine bird rehabilitation and education centre situated in the Cape Recife Nature Reserve. The purpose isn't just to rescue and rehabilitate, but to also inform and educate the public through their different programs. Visitors can experience the hospital and see the volunteers in action helping to save our environment, in particular the endangered African Penguin. Guided hikes in the Cape Recife Nature Reserves are available. This really is fun, and also - try catch one of the popular Penguin release days, where sick or oil slicked penguins have been rehabilitated, and are returned to the wild (the sea)
