Food scene

Gold Chili restaurant serves one of the most delightful buttermilk chicken dishes ever. It is typically eaten with rice and a vegetable dish. There are 2 branches in SS15 Subang, both have the same quality of food. There are other dishes as well if you're not feeling buttermilky.

When Malaysian food is mentioned, the nasi lemak dish will always come up in conversation. It's usually crowded here but the search for a seat will be well worth it when you get to savour the taste of their fragant coconut rice, delicious sambal and well-fried chicken. You can even ask for a bit of squid sauce or "kuah sotong) for even more taste.

SS15, Subang is a place where you can find a plethora of food selections (as well a street lined with bubble tea shops). Very busy, the area is filled with youngsters and hipsters. Your best bet is to head into a restaurant that's filled with people. You can reach this place with the LRT to the SS15 stop, or just use Grab.

Medium priced, there are many Little Penang Cafe branches you could go to in the Klang Valley. They serve some of the most iconic food from Penang. I would recommend the Kuey Teow or Nasi Goreng. Man, the food here is good.

It can get reaally spicy! 3 levels of spice "Biasa" (normal), Spicy and Extra Spicy. If your spice tolerance isn't high, go for the Biasa. But the chicken is cooked to perfection. It's served with rice and you better order a cold drink to tame the flame. There are many branches but I recommend going to the Rasta TTDI branch. You gotta go early like 11am to 2pm because it can sell out if you go too late.

It's mostly unnecessary to learn and use phrases in Bahasa Malaysia as almost everyone in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya speak in English. And if you do happen to find someone who totally can't speak English, the Google translate app could prove useful.
