Food scene

Fairbanks' most popular local brewery. The owner actually attended Brewer University in Germany and prior to that worked for AK Brewing company in Juneau. He has brought his craft to Fairbanks where he was born and raised. The Kolsch, IPA and Stout are the most popular but there are about a half dozen flavors always on tap! Bring our provided growlers from the kitchen and fill them up for only $10 each. Food trucks on sight in afternoon/evening.

In the neighborhood just down the street. Authentic and fresh Asian and Mexican grocery store. Do what I do; look up a good Thai dish on Youtube and run down the street for ingredients!

A bit of a drive but if you're in Fox or driving north of town anyway, the Turtle Club is our favorite fancy but not too fancy dining location. Known areawide for it's spectacular Prime Rib and salad bar. If it's just the two of you, do what we do; order the Turtle cut prime rib dinner which comes with one salad bar, then order an extra salad bar for only $12 or so and split the prime rib! Save a little bit of money and you still won't finish it all! Their prawn, crab and halibut are great as well. About the only place in town that has escargot too!

About a two minute drive bordering the neighborhood this cute family owned restaurant provides exceptional lunch entrees. MMMM, love the Reuben! And of course an assortment of cookies and desserts for after.

Fairbanks's fanciest restaurant (don't worry, you don't have to dress up if you don't want). Excellent entrees from lamb, beef fillet, salmon, halibut, etc. If you are a wine connoisseur then Lavelle's is your place - hundreds of wines to choose in a wide price range.

Ice carvers from around the world come to compete and create Ice Art Sculptures here. Our local gravel pit ice is known for freezing 4 ft deep and having little to no bubbles/imperfections : perfect for ice art. Less than a 5 minute drive away.

Rumor has it even Jay Leno came to Fairbanks just to see this museum! Just down College Rd past Creamer's Field (a 3 minute drive maybe). We personally went to the museum for the first time just last summer. It was absolutely 1st class and unbelievable. We had no idea that some of these car manufacturers even existed. This isn't just your Ford, Chevy, Chrysler car collection. There's an insane amount of pristinely refurbished cars from the early 1900's and what's even more impressive is that next to each car is an example of the era's clothing attire which was very unexpected and very interesting.
