The best beaches in the Shuswap - pure white sand beaches, warm water and amazing views. It's about 60 minutes from the house, on a dirt road (be prepared to drive slow). There is an old local pub on the beach that serves great nachos and cocktails (and off-sales liquor). This is a must-see! Pack your sunscreen and umbrella!

This is by far our favorite part of the Lake in the Shuswap (next to Seymour Arm). It's quiet, the water is serene and smooth and has beautiful white sand beaches (just boat right up)! if you have boat we highly recommend avoiding the hustle and bustle of Copper Island and head straight out here. You won't be disappointed.

The Hub is the place to be all day, any day of the week. Great food (they smoke their own meat), great atmosphere and live entertainment (Trivia Nights, Live Music, Meat Draws, etc.). You must try the Brisket Pizza and their homemade buttermilk chicken. The Iron Road beer is a local favorite too (made in Kamloops).

Best restaurant in the Shuswap. Right on the lake with the best views, best food, best service, best atmosphere and best drinks (the Caesars are amazing)! You can either boat there within 15 minutes or take a scenic drive around the lake for about 35 minutes. This is our favourite!

The famous floating restaurant in The Narrows of the Lake (only accessible by boat). This is the place to be and be seen. Very busy in the summer months so be prepared to wait. The atmosphere can't be beat. Great for people of all ages. The food and drinks are expensive but you are paying for the location and atmosphere.

A great local hike only about a 10 minute drive from the house. The hike is moderate and great for families and pets. There is a 1 hour loop and a more difficult, longer trail that branches off. Make sure to stop and take in the view at the Lookout where you can see Copper Island and Blind Bay. Bring mosquito repellant!

A more difficult hike but still good for the family. Beautiful falls at the top and amazing views. It's about a 30-40 minute drive from the house towards Seymour Arm so pack a picnic and make the day out of it. Lots of beaches to stop at along the way. Most of the drive is on a dirt road so make sure to take your time.

This place does not look like much from the outside but it has everything you need. Groceries, liquor, movie rentals, tools and parts, camping gear, on and on. They bake fresh bread daily and have a great deli with some of the best sandwiches in town (try the chicken Caesar salad wrap). This is our go-to store if we are in a pinch.
