Although rundown, the Salton Sea is a marvel as the largest lake in California and one of the largest inland seas in the world. Outside of the sure size of the stinky Salton Sea it's worth a visit as it oddly sits at 227 feet below sea level and has awesome surrounding attractions.

The labyrinth is a walking meditation, a path of prayer and an archetypal blueprint where psyche meets Spirit. It has only one path that leads from the outer edge in a circuitous way to the center. There are no tricks to it and no dead ends. Unlike a maze where you lose your way, the labyrinth is a spiritual tool that can help you find your way. Walking the Labyrinth quiets the mind, opens the heart and grounds the body. Generally there are three stages to the walk: releasing on the way in, receiving in the center and returning when you follow the return path back out of the labyrinth. Symbolically, and sometimes actually, you are taking back out into the world that which you have received.

At a length of 597–750 feet, it is the world's largest curved, all-wood trestle. Goat Canyon Trestle was built in 1933 as part of the San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway, after one of the many tunnels through the Carrizo Gorge collapsed.

Hiking

Simply named The Slot, this narrow siltstone canyon provides one of the most exciting hikes in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This 0.8-mike trek is capped off with a passage beneath a gravity-defying rock span. This short hike has just 100 feet of elevation loss, but the memory will be much more profound. The best directions I've seen are found here: https://www.hikespeak.com/trails/the-slot-anza-borrego-desert/

Gorgeous hike with great vistas. Moderately strenuous and you can make it as long or as short as you like by extending it over to Clark Dry Lake to the west. The trail was used by Cahuilla Indians between 1000 BC and 1000 AD. Still debate over its name... could be named for the multitude of switchbacks, or for the drinking habits of traders that used the trail to come to Borrego to wet their whistles!
