It looks like a total dive but the Tamales and Burritos are legit. The owner, Antonio, is SUPER friendly and the fresh house-made salsa is awesome. Not a great atmosphere inside (he's mainly a wholesaler) but get some to go and you won't regret it. Tell him Rogers sent you!

John Bidwell's historic mansion still stands and is open for tours. After striking it rich in the gold rush, he purchased the 22,000 "Rancho Chico" and built an 19th century agribusiness. This property was the epicenter of it all.

Parks & Nature
Bidwell park is one of the 25 largest city parks in the US. There are horseshoe pits, baseball fields, and miles of trails. The Sycamore Pool is an awesome concrete swimming hole the size of 4 olympic swimming pools. It was built to contain Big Chico Creek in 1920 and is manned by lifeguards from Memorial Day to Labor day. There is a municipal golf course as well as multiple swimming holes in the upper portion of the park.
