Combine with the restaurant is also a museum to the plants and trees, cost about 10-20 CHF for entree. The food is very delicious and made a lot with their own production.

Bachmann bakery is overall in Lucerne good food but not so good service and just two stores are two sit down and eat there the other ones are more to pick up.
The ice cream is very delicious and my favourite the best you buy ice cream by "Luzernerhof" and sit there right next to the lake and enjoy the view :-)

There are three of this Chinese restaurants in Lucerne, this on the "Haldenstrasse" is the most central location.
Inside the restaurants are aquariums full of fishes.
(I honestly don't think Switzerland has the best Chinese food)

In the summer it's nice to sit outside on the balcony and look down to the crowd. I just drink and eat dessert there, I don't know how is the food.

You can hike up or also take a gondola from Kriens or from Alpnachstad with the steepest cogwheel railway in the world.The best you can do is buy a ticket daycard (Tageskarte) by a town- "Gemeindeverwaltung" out of the city for very cheap (40- 50 CHF) compare to tickets by mountain station. But this ticket are limited of 2 each town. So it`s good to reserve before and may be don't tell them you are a tourist then it's more for citizen.
When you have this ticket I would suggest make a day round trip start with a ship from Lucerne to Alpnachstad and then take the cogwheel up of the mountain and then the gondolas down. On the stops by the way down are some fun activities (climbing&toboggan)
