This is a hidden gem. Our city has preserved Mr. Kubota's garden that he developed over decades on the property his family owned. It is a gorgeous Japanese Garden, much bigger and dare I say more authentic than the one in the Arboretum, and this one is free.

Seward Park is right down the hill from us. The Audobon Society is hosted there. We have Native Bald Eagle families and their nests, an old growth forest which is the only one left in the city or probably king county. There are trails all over. It is a great place for a run or walk. The park is a peninsula into the lake, so there are plenty of beach spaces to hang out on.
Usually we host Shakespear in the park in the summer months, for added entertainment.
