If you are feeling lucky then I would suggest that you check out the new Harrah's Cherokee River Valley Casino in Murphy. Great place to get your hike on. There are several trails, beautiful waterfalls, best cold water trout streams to fish in, and plenty of spots to hang out and have a picnic. You can also rent tubes in the summer and float down the river.

This was one of the most amazing experiences!! This place does require a reservation or they will turn you away!! Make sure you call ahead or message first. The farm was free to visit but they do take you to the gift shop at the end of the tour and it is expected that you purchase something to support the farm. Some things are very pricey but there are some less expensive items you can purchase to give back for the free experience.

We go here every summer!! It's a really old pool but it's huge, cheap to get into, and has beautiful Mountain views. It's close to the cabin too so we like to go here and then pick up supplies at Ingles or have lunch at a local restaurant.

Give white water rafting a try!!! Or just go to hang out and watch all of the rafters and kayakers go by!! There are two restaurants, an outpost full of gear, and a little general store. It's likely you'll see Hikers passing thought as the Appalachian trail goes right through the NOC. You might be there when the Smokey Mountain Railroad stops too as it is one of the stops on the tour. There is also a huge pay to climb obstacle course for kids there.

Sightseeing

A really fun way to see all of the sights is to catch a ride on the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad. The train departs in Bryson City and takes you on a 4.5 hour excursion that carries you 44 miles roundtrip across rivers, along lakes, and into the Nantahala Gorge. You can sit in the open air carts or hang out in 1st class with climate control, dinning seating, and a private attendant.

If you are up for a really “thrilling" drive then you must check out "The Tail of the Dragon" It is considered “the destination” for thousands of motorcycle and sports car fans throughout the spring, summer, and fall. It's US 129 next to Robinsville....Its 318 curves in 11 miles. Also, nearby is the Cherohala Skyway.....literally the most AMAZING view.
