The famous knitting brand Hjørundfjordstrikk is located here.

Herdalssetra er ein del av UNESCO verdsarvområdet Geiranger - Herdal.

Det er også kort vei til Ålesund (ca 1 time med bil) og kjente områder som Geiranger, Hellesylt, Norangsdalen, Valldal og Trollstigen. Om vinteren finner to ulike skianlegg bare 15 minutter unna leiligheten; “Sunnmørsalpane Skiarena Fjellsætra” og “Strandafjellet Skisenter”.
