Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

Channel your inner Mark Twain. Read, rock, and relax on the water, at the foot of a retired Northern Pacific Ore dock. The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Beautiful, comfortable, hand-built RUSTIC cabin with two full-sized beds. Instant book AFTER you have read our page details (no shower!) Young kids not recommended or those who are challenged climbing stairs! Adventurers paradise! 30 minutes to Duluth. Kitchenette, rustic toilet, bedding, bottled water, wood stove, solar power OFF-GRID (no fridge or power capacity for C-PAP), hiking trails, picnic table, fire ring. Well-behaved/housebroken pets only. Leash & NEVER leave alone when you are out.

Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

Here you will have immediate access to ATV and snowmobile routes, fishing on a private lake, and trails for hiking or hunting. Also conveniently located approximately 15 minutes out side of Superior Wisconsin where you will have access to any needs or amenities along with more sites to see!

Enjoy long days and sunsets at Corny Beach, a 10 min walk from the cabin along a nature trail. Visit Bayfield 20 min away or take in the quirky, small-town of Cornucopia and then come home and take a sauna in this peaceful forest! The cabin has an occupancy limit of 2 adults and one dog ($50 pet fee). A SUP board is stored near the beach for guests in summer.
