Rijeka is home to some beautiful beaches, and Sablicevo Beach in the eastern part of town is the best known. It can be accessed on foot from town, although it's a long walk and it is better to take public transport or drive. The water is a gorgeous mix of emerald and cobalt colors, and it's clear and warm come summer when it fills up very quickly – it is not a very big beach. Note that like most beaches in this area, you'll find pebbles over sand. There are free showers and toilets on-site

Sablicevo beach is the nearest from the city center and one of the oldest of beaches and is only a few minutes far from the city centre toward the East. If you come with public transport, take bus no.1 direction Pecine from the city center of Rijeka and stop at “Hotel Jadran”.

All the long of Šetalište XIII Divizije street you can find beautiful beaches starting with a dog beach very near to harbour, my preferred spot - the no name beach - just before Hotel Jadran, Slabićevo Beach, Balavica Beach, Glavanovo Beach and Pećine Beach with the great beach bar Pajol, hot spot for a young alternative crowd... nice music and good drinks! All this within max. 30 minutes walkway!
