This is a red covered bridge that crosses the Gatineau river. It was destroyed by fire in 1984 and rebuilt in 1998 as a pedestrian only crossing.

The centerpiece of local sightseeing locations. Park at the Fairbairn House listed below which is very close by. There are some rocks on the East shore just on the South side of the bridge that people use to relax and dip into the Gatineau River. Just don't bring alcohol.

The Wakefield covered bridge is a beautiful historic landmark built in 1915! It is a must see. The town of Wakefield and the Wakefield Old Mill are also enchanting places to visit if you should decide to adventure down Highway 5 North.
