Awesome Thai restaurant on the westerstraat in the Jordaan. One of my favorite restaurants of Amsterdam. You might need to make a reservation as I'm not the only one who likes this restaurant :) not too expensive though.

Nice stalls with fancy and exotic food and drinks in a covered hall. Also a cinema. Beautiful to check out and it's close to the Ten Kate market (buy fruit and veggies and nuts and cheese here).

Eat pancakes at a place called Mook Pancakes:) its on the the Clerqstraat, close to my place. Very healthy foodie kind of thing with hummus and avocados and grilled veggies and not too expensive. Like 10 euros for dinner. Ten minutes away of my place by foot.

Big terrace outside. This place is like five minutes away of my house. Nice for lunch and dinner. Or just take a coffee. It's kind of a hipster bar. I like it :)

Shhhhht don't tell. This is a local local place. Hidden on a square not too far away of my place. It's always crowded with local people who like to chat and eat. Yay! Nice to have food or just drinks. They say the tart tatin is awesoooome!

Very good spot to drink beers on a Friday (or any other day :) ). 10 minute walk from my place. It's in Amsterdam West at the marnixstraat. It's Surinam orientated (food/music). That's an old colony of the Netherlands.

This bar brews their own beer. They serve three types. I really like the blond one. They also serve amazing hamburgers (nice veggie ones as well as the lentle burger for example) and sweet potato fries.

Beer brewery in an old Dutch windmill close to Roest. It's also located in Amsterdam East. The beer of this windmill became famous in the Netherlands (IJ beer) and you can buy it in Albert Heijn (biggest Dutch supermarket chain).

It's also a restaurant. Best place in town during summer time. It has a huge outside area. In winter time it's also cosy. Good to go for hot chocolate or a nice coffee. It's all made of wood and in front of Nemo (science museum for children). Place is near the water.

On the seventh floor of this building you find Canvas. One of my fav places to go out for drinks or to dance. Young crowd. Hipster meets alternative. The view of the city is amazing. In the same building opened the Volkshotel last year. A designer boutique hotel.

The Westergasterrein is a nice industrial area with lots of bars, breweries, expositions and a park. You can walk around in this area. Go for coffee, food, culture, nature, etc. Amsterdam west. 20 minute walk from my place. Tram 10 takes you there. Last stop!

Parks & Nature
Most famous park in Amsterdam. It's very close to Museum square and Leidse square. Beautiful to walk or cycle around in this park. The whole round is about 4 km. I know this because I run here sometimes :).
