At only five miles from the popular John o Groats signpost, Jo and Karina would love to welcome you at one of three cozy self-catering glamping pods at The Crofter's Snug - lots of local area info on our website. Located at the top of Scotland you'll enjoy one of the best views in the area - even the locals are envious! One mile off the popular NC500 tourist route, our two pods and a Shepherd's Hut offer peace and quiet in an idyllic location with some amazing sunrises, sunsets and starry skies.

The Hide is a super get-away for anyone travelling around Scotland on the NC500 or on your own adventure looking for a unique stay. Almost off-grid, it has a comfy bed, central woodburner and spectacular view. It's the perfect stepping stone towards the full off-grid experience, intended for people who are curious about living the off-grid lifestyle but also like to be able to charge their phone, boil a kettle and have a hot shower! A comfortable hotel quality double mattress in self catering accommodation with stunning views of the sea and islands and within easy walk of a shop and beaches. One up from camping. enjoy the beauty and simplicity of the Strath Oykel scenery. A gas stove and a loo with a view. The Bothy benefits from a fire pit to enjoy sundowners and northern lights from, looking onto a loch. There is also a log burner for those chillier evenings. Bring drinking water and food. Everything else should be there.

On the North Coast 500 route, this property offers an ideal location for exploring both Caithness and Sutherland. Melvich boasts a sandy beach within a 5 minute walk from the cottage.
