The Appleton Retreat is less than a 30 minute drive to Belfast, Rockport, Camden and Rockland, charming downeast seaside towns.

You'll have a private entrance and easy access to town which is only half a mile away. Hike right from the cottage to the summit of Mt Battie or Mt Megunticook using the Sagamore Farm trail behind the property. Enjoy the distant Penobscot Bay views and watch the schooners sail by the Fox Island Thoroughfare.

The Seamist Cottage - Converted Historic Barn

Cozy, fully converted historic barn within easy walking distance to the rocky shore of Bass Harbor, a busy lobstering port. An ideal, pet friendly, home base while exploring Acadia National Park. The Seamist is located on "the quietside" of the island. Six minutes from Southwest Harbor and thirty minutes to Bar Harbor, the Seamist also offers guests private hot tub access! All guests have full access to common areas: Indoor kitchen in the main building, outdoor kitchen, hot tub, and bonfire pit.
