The Apple Loft is an airy and open studio for two , looking out over Latchley and the Tamar Valley. Dog and Baby friendly it is perfectly situated for exploring Devon and Cornwall, and close to Tavistock, Dartmoor, Plymouth and the coasts. .
This airy open-plan Apple Loft is set up with all the necessities as well as a lovely view. It is part of the old stone barn that held the apple press when the valley was filled with orchards. It has a high ceiling and there is central heating, hot water and a wood burning stove. The table and chairs are in front of the large wooden double doors overlooking the valley. On a warm evening the doors can be opened to take in the view and watch the swallows across the yard. The sofa and chairs face the wood burning stove (some wood supplied) and a TV. The little kitchen area boasts a gas stove, oven, microwave, fridge and all the basics. If you need something specific just ask. A comfy good size double bed with quality linen and duvet is up a small set of stairs on the elevated mezzanine. The separate bathroom contains a shower/bath and toilet, towels are provided. Private off road parking included. Guests have their own small garden/courtyard with table and chairs.
The Apple Loft is situated on the edge of Latchley, a quiet pretty little historic village, with lovely neighbours and a countryside setting. The Tamar Valley is designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty. Historically, the valley has many signs of its copper mining of the 1800's including pumping houses, shafts, and chimneys. The valley is part of the World Heritage Site for Mining. You can walk from Latchley through Duchy of Cornwall woodlands up river along the Tamar to Luckett and Horsebridge. Or down river to Gunnislake and beyond.

Muitos pequenos toques pessoais fizeram toda a diferença.

The studio is modern, spacious and light, with well-equipped kitchen and cosy living space, wood burner and views across the garden into ancient woodlands. We are in a designated area of 'outstanding landscape beauty' rich in historical sites.
Our studio apartment is light and spacious, attached to our recently self built ecohome. It has a wood burner and well-equipped living/kitchen space. There is a sofa bed on the ground floor which can be used for an extra guest or two by arrangement. We provide sheets and towels. Eco features include heat recovery ventilation, photovoltaic panels, solar thermal panels, high levels of insulation and heating using logs from our 8 acres of deciduous woodland. Water is from our own spring. There is a short film showing the building of the house on the website of co-host tonyhillfilms.
East Cornwall offers easy access to all the county has to offer in terms of tourist attractions. It's ideal for people who want to spend some time in an unspoilt rural area slightly off the beaten tourist track - no crowds or traffic problems. Moors and beaches, Heligan and the Eden Project are within easy driving distance for days out. Plymouth is near enough for evening entertainment.

Obrigado Tony e Pat.

  • Lugar brilhante. Altamente recomendado.

Be the first to stay in this beautiful wing of this former village church, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you’d need to relax in this rural peaceful corner of Devon. Soak in your own private hot tub, or chill out on the raised decking area watching the sheep graze and the sun set, whilst listening to your favourite music on the outdoor speakers connected to Sonos. Play it as loud as you like, there's no neighbours for 1km in any direction!
Up to 4 guests can have the exclusive use of 5 rooms - accessed via your own personal door to the rear of the church. This area leads straight onto the decked walkway with access to the hot tub. The spacious Master Bedroom with a king size luxury bed and 42" LED TV and Sonos dock. The Snug - consisting of 2 versatile singles, that can be made up as a double or 2 singles, with a study area to the other end. The Ante Room - all rooms lead of this, and it's a perfect space to sit and read a book. The Kitchenette - all the things you'd need to prepare a basic meal, including a fridge freezer and washing machine. The Shower Room - A double power shower and generous sized bathroom. All rooms have a good wifi connection / Ethernet ports.
A stunning area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB!) with amazing views for miles around - you cannot see another house from this location, so make as much noise as you like! There is guest parking for 2 cars, and the local village pub is 1 mile stroll away. A convenience store is 2 miles away, and for larger supermarkets and restaurants there is the market towns of Tavistock or Callington just 5 miles away. We are slap bang between the 2, just 1 mile into Devon from the river Tamar.

    Sophie2019-04-03T00:00:00Z

Indulge in a luxury spa experience at a tranquil cottage. Follow a garden path from your decked balcony to a private wood-fired hot tub, sauna, hammock, outdoor shower and summerhouse. It's a great spot for stargazing by night and bird-watching by day. Cook in a modern well-equipped kitchen or have meals catered for you and served privately at your cosy cottage. Please note that as a customer service based business our price reflects that we set up the spa and hot tub for you at a time which suits (as long as we are on site) and that all logs for the hot tub and log burner are inclusive !
The cottage is situated in the grounds of our own home. While it is entirely private we are on hand if you need anything and Mark can also provide private catering as a highly regarded chef sourcing the best local produce in Cornwall !

The Pixie House is a romantic peaceful octagonal pine lodge in the garden of an old Farmhouse set in a quiet village location in the heart of the Cornish countryside. Great base for a get away from it all weekend, for walkers, nature lovers , visiting the coast, National Trust Gardens or The Eden Project.
The Pixie House is a one roomed wood cabin. It is 17 feet wide and octagonal shaped. The walls are sloped so there is plenty of space once you are inside. There is a lovely comfy bed with rugs on the floor, fairy lighting all around the edge and a brighter light should you need it. There is a table to sit at and seating all around the edge, a bbq in the centre, an outside porch to leave shoes and coats and do any washing up. Outside there is also a compost toilet in the corner of the next field if you like the eco feel. Alternatively there is a bathroom just inside the farmhouse back door. There is a stone circle and moon garden outside where Hand Fasting weddings take place from time to time. You may hear owls hoot from the big old oak tree outside, swallows fly around in the summer and greater spotted wood peckers are regularly seen eating nuts from the bird table.
The Pixie House is situated in a private secluded garden behind a farmhouse. The garden was a field. There are three call ducks roaming free. From the farmhouse The Pixie House cannot be seen as the planting scheme hides The Pixie House. It is in a small country village which has views of fields and woods and Bodmin Moor. Great area for walkers. Britains Ocean City Plymouth is about 45 mins drive away. It can also be reached by train from Liskeard or Gunnislake. Tavistock is fabulous market town about 45 minutes away. Also Truro with its Cathedral and lovely shops is about an hour away. The Eden Project is well worth a visit with its Tropical and Mediterranean biomes. Our local town is Callington where you can do your shopping and get fuel or a bus. It is a couple of miles away. There are many disused mines dotted around Cornwall. Cornwall is also well known for its stunning rugged coastline where wreckers and smugglers were once abundant. Jamaica Inn is not far from us the inspiration for Daphne Du Marier's famous book.

Perfectly located on the Bere peninsular just a few yards from the scenic Tavy river. An area of outstanding natural beauty. Ideal base to explore West Devon, Cornwall and Dartmoor. Post Office Cottage has been fully renovated in 2017 and provides high quality comfortable accommodation in a peaceful, rural location. Just yards away is The Old Plough Inn, a great village pub serving real ales, cider and tasty home cooked food.
200 year old barn previously used as the village post office in the heart of Bere Ferrers. Converted to provide light, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable accommodation. Great location for walking, sailing, canoeing, bird watching, visiting local attractions, or just relaxing in this picturesque Devon village.
Bere Ferrers is a quaint traditional Devon village located in the historic Tamar valley. The village has a regular train service to Plymouth & beyond. It is an eight mile drive to the famous market town of Tavistock. The National Trust properties of Cothele House & Buckland Abbey are close by.

My place is close to the Cornwall-Devon border not far from the beaches and Dartmoor. You’ll love my place because of the views, the open plan living space, the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, holiday makers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
What makes my place so good is the price. It comes in at less than half the price of other similar holiday cottages. There are no extra cleaning costs. All I ask is you leave the place as you would like to find it.
There is a restaurant and bar on site as well as a games room for guest use. A good pub is a 10 minute walk away. There is no private garden but directly outside are large green spaces, a play area and tennis courts. The Donkey Park with large indoor play areas (and lots to do outside) is a short walk away.

We welcome you to stay in our beautiful Edwardian terraced house in our the aptly named "Sunshine Room", within the riverside village of Calstock, a World Heritage Site and within the Tamar Valley AONB. A perfect spot for peaceful relaxation and walking the many trails through the valley (less than 5 minutes from the back door). Only 40 minutes by car or train (on the scenic Tamar Valley Line!) from Plymouth city centre.
Our house has a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of gentle light and space. Old rustic features such as fireplaces and exposed beams combine with modern design features and objects that we have collected from our travels around South and South East Asia, to create a truly unique place to spend time. The house has a long sunny back garden with apple trees and a large willow tree that feels private despite the gardens either side. A wooden table and chair set are available for guests to use for alfresco dining in the warmer months (we will upload pictures of the garden soon!) Calstock is a quirky, lively village with extremely friendly locals (some real characters!). There is a relaxed atmosphere which attracts artists, musicians and many other creative souls. The village has a long and colourful history, it was once a flourishing mining, flower market and boatbuilding village. Mining for silver and copper, arsenic and manganese were historically important industries here. Calstock sits in a loop of the River Tamar, so much so that it has something of the character of an island. You drive into the village and turn around to go back out again - it's not on the way to anywhere. This makes it feel very special and it certainly has its own unique charm and old time character! It is a wonderful area to explore the wild ruins of the villages mining heritage, a peaceful place to be for nature lovers, bird watchers with wonderful walks directly from house.
You will not be short of stunning walks locally! There are numerous walks around the wooded valley particularly around the National Trust Tudor House, Cotehele House estate. Or you can acquaint yourself with the village by taking a circular walk around the riverside or stray off up into Harewood or through the woodlands to Danescombe Valley. The Tamar Valley Nature Trail sees you snaking along the River Tamar up to Chimney Rock with amazing views back down the river. A walk up Kit Hill, a 400 acre Country Park, the highest point in the Tamar Valley, is a must for the fine views and fascinating history. We have lots of ordinance survey maps of the area for guests to borrow and can recommend lots of other spots for local ramblings and ones further afield. More information... The house is a 3 minute walk to the centre of the village. Here you can find two cosy, dog-friendly pubs, which serve a good selection of food (and The Tamar Inn sometimes has live music!), The Boot Inn does a very yummy roast on a Sunday, Lishe, a idyllic cafe with delicious cakes and cream teas, an ice-cream parlour, an art gallery exhibiting art work, jewellery and ceramics by local artists in the tamar valley, a well equipped shop (with lots of fresh yummy fruit and veg, freshly cooked pasties and bread!), a small complementary therapy practice 'The Haven' offering massage, yoga, reflexology, homeopathy and shiatsu, and Calstock Arts, a community arts centre located in a beautifully converted Chapel on the banks of the River Tamar. Their carefully selected programme includes; folk, jazz, classical music, comedy, film, theatre, talks and exhibitions. Their current programme of events can be viewed at their website 'Calstock Arts'. There is plenty of opportunity for river trips, kayaking and general watery activities or you can try out tree surfing at the 'Tamar Trails Centre', a 15 min drive away. The centre is the main hub for exploring the 25km of trails for walkers, cyclists and horse riders that follow old mineral tramways and railways. We have plenty of pamphlets detailing all of these activities and with info on how to book. The pretty market town of Tavistock is but a 20 minute journey by car or bus and has a really interesting old indoor pannier market and a stunning historic high street with ample opportunities for shopping in individual boutique shops and delicatessens. From Tavistock you can access the Dartmoor National Park for some breathtaking moorland walks. If you have a hankering for some fresh sea air the nearest beaches are along the south coast, the closest being Seaton, Looe (which has a idyllic seaside town), the beautiful port and fishing village of Polperro. All about a 40-50 minute drive away. If you go a bit further and if you’re up for a bit of a hike then Lantic Bay will reward you with one of the most stunning locations in Cornwall without a doubt. The walk from Lantic Bay to Lansallos Bay is one of our favourites. You can also venture to the north cornish coastline. The beaches at Bude, Crackington Haven and Boscastle are all about an hours drive from the house. Crackington Haven is a small coastal village just West of Bude. Once a small harbour importing coal and limestone from Wales, which narrowly escaped industrial development in the 1800s, it is now a small unspoiled, almost secret, cove. Although is can get fairly busy in the summer, its a lot quieter than the beaches nearer to Bude. It is a great spot for body boarding and surfing with the right conditions!
A single room in a house, within walking distance of the town centre, bus stops and train station. Off road parking if required. Secure space for bikes, etc. We're on a quiet street, very close to the middle of Saltash and less than a mile from the Tamar bridge. If you're getting the bus then our nearest stop is Fore Street, either top or bottom.
A 1950s house on a quiet road. Most of our neighbours are elderly and so it is very peaceful here. We're on the north side of Saltash and overlook where the Tamar river meets the Tavy. You can see Kit Hill, in Callington from the front of the house, and on a very clear day, both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor.
We're both very relaxed and like a bottle of wine in the garden or in front of the fire, depending on the time of year. We like the pub and can give good advice on where to visit, both in Saltash and the surrounding area.
