Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Haro Sunset House

Winding through a Madrona forest hillside on the coveted Westside of San Juan Island, Haro Sunset House greets you with sweeping views from Vancouver Island to Salt Spring Island to the North. This home is known for its stunning views from the expansive deck and with amazing wildlife viewing. The home is near San Juan County Park for beach access and the iconic Lime Kiln Light House. The owner’s home is located next door, yet separated by two garage structures, leaving a feeling of seclusion.

Half way between the town of Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor Resort, this peaceful quiet oasis features views of the Olympic mountains, pastures and abundant nature. Deer graze in the yard, the occasional fox wanders by and eagles can be seen soaring above the trees. Guests can relax on their large private patio that is surrounded by bountiful gardens. This property is within walking distance of Mt. Grant and close to both Mt. Young and British Camp.

Comfortable one bedroom cottage with sun-room fully insulated and extremely wonderful . There is also a back patio with a great view overlooking the lower pasture and wetland. BBQ and comfortable outdoor furniture. On a hot day the patio offers good shade. It comfortably fits two and is centrally located. An easy 15 minute drive to most attractions. Dog friendly with pet fee (please reach out if you have questions).

AMAZING WATERVIEW CABIN! This is the place to come during Coronavirus! It’s clean, sanitized with antibacterial wipes, private, and you can prepare your own meals. While on the ferry you can stay in your car for protection. Also, I’ve gone to a self check in policy for our protection, and provide an annotated map with directions to my favorite places and hikes.

Cottage by the Sea

Lovely cottage by the sea with private beach access. Amazing views with the whales coming by often. You will also get daily eagle sightings and sunsets like no other. (We also have FAST fiber optic WiFi for those looking to take meetings remotely.) This spot is one of the best you'll find on the island. Come enjoy this nestled gem on Sunset Point!
