the Surf Bug: a new-fashioned one-bedroom bungalow

Fall is finally here:) Enjoy marsh views with an ocean backdrop from the covered porch of our little modern beach house. Designed and built by my husband and myself, the Surf Bug features handcrafted details including cypress trim, hardwood floors, and butcher block countertops. We encourage you to kick off your shoes, unplug, and walk down to the beach—just three minutes walk without crossing any streets. I am a meticulous cleaner, and the white 100% cotton bedding is percale, made in Portugal.

Explore all of the great restaurants, shops, activities, and bars nearby. The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, 1 half bathroom, and an outdoor shower. Welcome to my home on Hatteras Island, located in the village of Frisco directly on Pamlico Sound in a residential neighborhood. You have a private entrance and screened-in porch, as well as a shared sundeck. My house is on a ridge & your room is on the 2nd floor, giving you spectacular views of the sound. From the property, you can easily kayak or SUP. Both the beach and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse are only a short drive away. There are also many shops, galleries, and eateries to explore.
