Great arboretum. Free parking. Fabulous bluebell woods in April. Near the Heartwood Tea Rooms. Good for dog walking.

A little drive out of St Albans into Sandridge Village but a lovely place for a walk. The village also boasts some lovely pubs and a tea room.

Heartwood is Ade up of 4 woods, and have more than half a million trees, pockets of ancient woodland, wildflower meadows and it's superb for wild life spotting. Volunteers have so far spotted more than 80 species of birds and 29 butterflies.
