Not only a thriving independent cinema which shows the latest film plus seasons of a specific genre or director's back catalogue but also a buzzy cafe bar serving drinks, light freshly cooked meals and coffees/cakes. If you ask for a plastic glass or takeaway cup you can take your drinks into the cinema with you. Great location for a meeting place as at the top of Lothian Road near Princes Street.

The Filmhouse is a fantastic arthouse cinema. The cafe is a great place to relax in & have a drink or lunch/dinner. Very good and budget-friendly menu including good vegetarian options. Friendly & casual atmosphere. Their monthly film quiz is notoriously difficult but great fun!
