One of the closer historical towers that Malta has to offer, it might be worth having a look at it if you're close by but I wouldn't go out of the way to visit it.

Built in 1609, the Wignacourt Tower was the first of the towers built by Grand Master Wignacourt. It guards the point to the west of the church, and houses a tiny museum with exhibits on local fortress history, including a small selection of guns and armour. There are stupendous views from here.

This bastioned watchtower was built in 1610, by Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt and designed by the Maltese architect Vittorio Cassar. Wignacourt Tower was the second tower to be built on the Maltese islands, after Garzez Tower on Gozo, which was demolished in 1848 making Wignacourt Tower the oldest surviving watchtower in Malta.

Wignacourt Tower: The tower, built in 1610 during the reign of Grandmaster de Wignacourt, served as Malta's northernmost defensive outpost until Fort St. Agatha was built in Mellieha in 1649. Today, there is a small museum dedicated to Malta's rich military-architectural heritage.
