This classic hotel bar is one of Sunset Boulevard's hidden secrets. If you want to feel like you've traveled back in time to Hollywood's heyday, this is the place. Black and white photos of film icons line the walls, and talented pianists set the tone. It’s an impressive, and pricey, first date spot. Make sure you really like who you're bringing. For a quieter and maybe even more inviting spot, ask to sit outside. At the outdoor booths, you can sit side-by-side instead of facing each other, and you get a view over the pool to the rest of West Hollywood.

The Tower Bar inside the Sunset Tower hotel is an institution, at the risk of sounding douchey: you will likely see a famous person here. It's a quintessential Hollywood bar that many people don't realize is there (by design). Please keep in mind, no pictures are allowed her, that is a policy that is adamantly enforced, and this is the last place you should fan girl out on anyone, the staff will escort you out immediately. If you follow those simple rules and maintain composure you will have a great time.
