A special house in the hills above Ojai. The main living space is open and airy, the kitchen was very well appointed, the beds are extremely comfortable and the hot tub overlooking the valley was clean and satisfying. Carrie’s communication was always timely and helpful. We hope to return.

A Slice of Heaven in the Ojai Mountains!

What can I say - this incredible mountaintop retreat exceeded every expectation! The moment we arrived at this architectural gem of a home, we were blown away. Built right into the boulder-strewn landscape, the house looks like a natural extension of the rustic terrain.

Stepping inside, we discovered bright, airy rooms with stunning secluded views from every window. The home is somehow both sleekly modern and profoundly cozy at the same time. We loved curling up on the plush sofas and chairs, feeling totally at home.

The absolute highlight is the multitude of outdoor spaces, perfect for soaking up Ojai's legendary sunsets. Multiple decks on different levels create a feeling of being perched among the treetops. We couldn't get enough of the stargazing hot tub, where we relaxed each night with a glass of wine, serenaded by the chorus of crickets.

The surrounding valley and mountains are simply divine, oozing that special Ojai magic.

Wow, what a beautiful home in such a beautiful part of Ojai! Privacy and quiet location and just minutes from downtown. The home is gorgeous and the hot tub has a wonderful view of the valley.

A Beautiful Nightmare:

Some frustrations from my stay, which I ended early.
--AC Broken: After arrival in the midst of a heat/humidity wave, I was informed the AC was broken.
--Surprising "House Notes": After arrival, I was emailed the following: The electricity is on a rate plan where it is highest from 4pm to 9pm so if you could refrain from using AC or washer/dryer during those hours, it would be much appreciated. The refrigerator turns off in the middle of the night for two hours to save energy. I discovered the washer was on a "smart plug", which controlled power to the washer during certain hours and prevented use.
--Unreliable Utilities: Hot water stopped during showers and internet dropped multiple times during Teams & Zoom meetings.
--Interior auto door lock: I discovered a BR door lock after shutting door behind me in anticipation of one of the many service calls. Even after getting the code, it failed to function properly.

The house and furnishings were beautiful though.
